| << I prefer to learn in a traditional type of school. This is mainly because interacting with our friends seems to be the most important thing in our school lives. As for me, I study medicine at my university with 100 classmates. Of course I can't fully interact with all of them. I often talk with 10 or less classmates, I don't know the rest of 90 classmates very well. Still, I think there are many chances are left if we continue the traditional type of school. On the other hand, when I study English, I usually study alone using my computer. Recently by using the Internet, I began to practice writing an English essay with friends I haven't seen. This practice can said to be succeed to some extent. I prefer to learn with my friends. If we just want to get knowledge to pass the national medical examination, we don't need to gather in a lecture room. We can learn by ourselves. But we must learn more than just a knowledge to be a doctor. We must aquire skills which can be used in a hospital. Our knowledge must be used to cure patients. To make our knowledge more than just a knowlege, we must learn with our classmates. We must do real practice in a laboratory or in a hospital. On top of that, the more we know our classmates, the more we can help each other in the future. On the other hand, to learn online can also be useful. For example, I study English at my home by using my computer. This enables me to listen to foreign radio news, to see a foreign website, or sometimes to chat with someone overseas. In a traditional classroom, I can't learn English as such a way. Recently, I began to practice writing an English essay with some friends. I don't really know who they are, because I don't know even their real name. But the pracitce is enjoyable and can be said to be succeeded to some extent, because all of us surely improved our writing skills. I know both traditional schools and new technology can be beneficial for our learning. I want to make use of both of them. But if I must choose one, I want to choose a traditional one. This is because I think practical interactions are more important than virtual interactions. |
