| << The last decade saw the great development of the Internet that allow us to communicate with people from all over the world much more easily and quickly than ever before. This Internet can be used for educational purposes that can possibly take the place of traditional school education if necessary. However the latter educational system is more preferable than the other due to its strength that the traditional schools can also provide the students with opportunities to meet people in person, which will lead to establishment of communication skills and sound human relations. The Internet, which has been developed to a great extent where we can use it as a means of education, can possibly replace the traditional school if desired. We can use the Internet with using voice and image these days, which enables us to have lectures and even tutorial discussions through it. For instance, instead of having actual lectures at schools, lecturers simply write the explanation or discussion of the subjects on his or her website, and the students then can read it at home and learn from it. When the students need to ask any questions, they can use the discussion board on lecturesf website or simply email the teacher. The students can also submit their work via emails. This is exactly what happens for some of the subjects that are taught at the university I attend. Moreover, in Australia, there is a system established for children who is in very isolated and rural area to do their compulsory education through the Internet. These children obtain study material mostly though emails and other Internet material, and correspond to the teachers through emails and on-line chat. Without this system, these children have to leave home in a long term simply to attend the compulsory education. On the basis, it would be arguable that the Internet can replace the role of the traditional schools, though it is not clear if this transition should take place. What is clear to me is that the traditional education is still preferable, for attending actual schools can enable us to meet people in person to improve our communication skills and to make human relationships with others. By meeting people in person in classes, it is possible to have chances to interact with other students who can possibly be friends with you. Self-evidently, friends from schools are precious to share fun activities, your thoughts, ideas, feeling, and even difficulties. These friends can also help you during and after your schools days with your study, work and business. Moreover, the experience to interact with many people will help you improve your communication skills, for this experience would enable you to learn to have appropriate attitudes toward people. Furthermore, you can make connections with your teachers by communicating with them in person at schools, which will greatly help you get into further educational institutions or find a good job, as these teachers can be your references. These connections, which prove your performance at schools, allow you to obtain more creditability from professors at the further educational institutions, personnel from the companies, scholar associations and so forth. This can be key for success in your career. To do this, it is necessary for students to meet people at schools to improve communication skills and to make connections with people. In conclusion, it is preferable for students to attend the schools in order to improve the communication skills and to make friends and connections with teachers at the same time as they learn the subjects. The Internet that is incredibly being improved, however, can be an alternative method of learning in case the school education is not available. |
