I want my university to buy books than computers. Some people say that school should prepare computers for students. But nowadays, most students have their own computers at home. So schools don't have to prepare computers for all students. On the other hand, we can't afford all the books that professors recommend. If my university buy books in the library, I will appreciate that.
I study medicine at my university. As you know, medical textbooks are too expensive. When I buy a medical book, I pay at least 100 dollars at a time. We must learn many subjects such as histology, physiology, pathology, and so on. Each professor requires to buy a textbook. As for me, I spend nearly 300 dollars for my textbooks evey month. Of course, if I only want to pass an examination, I don't have to pay such much money, only one textbook for each field would be enough. But to learn more, we had better to read as many books as we can.
Sometimes I feel that I should not buy some books. This is because I don't read those bookd so much. After having bought the books, I notice that I didn't need all parts of the books. I don't have to read all pages of those books. In such a case, I think I shouldn't buy the books, only going to the library and find those books would be better. So I want my university to prepare many, expensive books in the library.
Some people say that schools should prepare computers for students. But now, most of us have our own computers at home. So schools need not buy computers for us. On top of that, many of us use DSL when we use the Internet. When we used telephone lines to connect to the Internet, we appreciated the schools' computers, because they can retrieve information more quickly than our home computers. But now, our computers can work quickly as university's computers do. So I think school don't have to prepare computers for students.
