When I first studied abroad in the United States, it was getting more common for university students to study abroad. And it was not happening only in Japan. At present, I am studying to get an opportunity to pursue the graduate degree in the United States. This is going to be my third experience in foreign country. In this essay, I will give two reasons why I chose to study abroad, and they can be some of many reasons why more and more students prefer to study abroad.

In the first place, I was hoping to do what I thought myself that it was totally impossible for me-studying something using English in English speaking country. It was not only my parents who doubted that I will make it possible because I had never thought that I can study with unfamiliar people in unfamiliar country. However, I had been dreaming of not only learning English, but learn something using English, and study abroad was supposed to make my dream come true. Especially, I was sure that I will be able to have confidence if I could realize the big dream and that it will be my competence in the future.

In the second place, studying abroad was one of some choices to prepare for my career. I had decided to be a Japanese teacher and to get an opportunity to be a Japanese professor in University, I was in need of pursuing graduate degree in the United States. In Japan, there are so many fields of work that require students to obtain degree in another country because sometimes Japanese institutes can not satisfy the necessary condition. It happened to me and I decided to study abroad as the way to make my dream come true.

In conclusion, there are two reasons why I chose to study abroad: to achieve my dream and for career preparation. I did not decide to leave Japan merely because it was cool or something. In fact, I love to live and work in Japan. But I had been studying to become a Japanese teacher and I finally found this rare opportunity. At present, I would find it difficult to realize my dream without leaving Japan. I believe that many students have been deciding to acquire education in other country to pursue their goal and I would like to be a teacher who could support those students.
