| << There is a proverb that goes gIf you need shelter, choose a big tree.h I think this proverb signifies that people in general feel secure if they belong to some kind of organization, especially a big one. Majority of new recruits try to enter companies or organizations rather than starting business on their own. I think this is natural. Not all people are capable of doing business all by themselves. The biggest reason may be a lack of resources, both financial and human. In achieving anything, you often need resources and good advice. And these help are most likely coming from groups or organizations of some kind. Second reason is the security one can feel in a group or an organization. Those groups and organizations are not limited to corporations, of course. They can be schools, churches, clubs, community circles and so on. It is often said that people cannot live alone. This is because they want to feel that they are needed and that they naturally seek for personal contact. To describe this concept, people often refer to the Chinese character of people. The letter looks two people leaning against each other. I think this is an apt way of saying how people need to be among other people As for me, I cannot take it anymore if I have to live alone without belonging to any kind of groups. I know of some dropouts who weren't able to get along with a certain group and were unhappy but now lead a very fulfilling life after belonging to another group. People need resources to make a living and they also want to be interdependent with groups and organizations to live happy, healthy lives. |
