I have no experience to transfer school and therefore, I have to consider the series of problems that new students have.  But analyzing them from my friends talk, I think there are two things school can do in order that students adopt themselves to their new school, helping them to keep up with their class and to have opportunity to meet other students.

In order to promote their adoption to new class's lecture, school have to prepare special classes for new students to learn what they have never learn yet or to ask for teachers detailed question.  According to my friends who have ever transfer their class, new students have usually trouble to keep up with their new class, especially those who have to change their school in the midst of academic year.  It is mainly because of the gap of speed and level of learning between prior school and later school.  Students have to keep up with the new class's pace and contents even if they have never received the lecture and only normal lecture is insufficient for them to ask their questions coming from their lack of learning.

School also should give new students to have frineds.  Making frineds at the new school is very effective for them to adopt themselves to the new school life promptly.  They can know about new school and class from friends familiar to the institution.  They can seek good advice from them and be relax with chatting friendly.  Holding welcome party is one of the best way as the opportunity.

In this way, school can assist new comers by giving them opportunities for them to learn the academic contents which they have not learn yet but cannot learn at the new school and to make friends.  Adaptation to new school demand students' own effort, but these things are very helpful. Therefore, if I were a new student, I want my new school to prepare these opportunities as the potent helper of my adaptation to new environment.
