<< There are lots of legal holidays in my country, Japan and each day has special meaning according to which nations have special events to celebrate. There are also other memorial but not red-letter days. Among these days, I think Doll festival day, March 3rd should be a legal holiday because of its important meaning the day has. It is the day when adults celebrate and hope their daughters healthy growth and happiness. We have already had a special legal holiday for boys, Children�fs Day and therefore I think that we should decide holiday to celebrate the happiness of girls. You might guess that Children�fs Day is for both boys and girls. But actually, in Children�fs Day, we prepare special cuisine and display carp streamer and samurai doll to pray boys�f healthy growth and happiness. There is no display for girls in this holiday. Doll festival day is totally for girls�f festival. Although it�fs weekday, Doll festival is so important for us that we hold magnificent feast to celebrate the day. In order to celebrate the event, parents having a daughter in my country prepare special dishes like sushi, sweet drink made from fermented rice, and well-decorated cake. Then we display special dolls called hina dolls. In order to prepare these things for the day, parents need to spend much time. For instance, to display the dolls, they have to make magnificent special shelves to put more than ten dolls wearing classical kimono and other traditional miniature furnishing. I think we should be allowed to have such magnificent and time-demanding event at home without caring about daily works. In this way, boys are celebrated in legal holiday and Doll festival for girls is as important as the boy�fs holiday. Therefore, I would like to allege that Doll festival should be red-letter day too.
