<< I live in Japan. Sushi is one of the most famous japanese traditional foods. But to our surprise, we have no holiday for this delisious food. If I could create a new holiday, I want to make a Sushi day. Sushi is not only important for its tasteful value, it is also important in the point of health. In my country, we have our many holidays in a year. Of course since Japan is multi-cultural, thought we are not multi racial, we cerebrate every holiday around the world. For example, even though most Japanese are not Christian, we cerebrate Christmas as most people in the world do. We also have our own traditional holidays such as "our ancestors' soul coming back day in summer", "a new year day in Japanese style", or "a day for girl in March". We have many traditional holidays in Japanese style, some of them are continued since more than 500 years ago. As I have stated in the former paragraph, we have many Japanese style holidays, but we don't have any Sushi holiday. Maybe Sushi is the most wonderful Japanese food and almost all Japanese eat Suchi in many cases. We eat Sushi in formal and unformal parties. I lived in Japan for more than 20 years and I have uncountable Japanese friends, but until now, I never met Japanese who don't like Sushi. I guess you understood the importance of Suchi for us, Japanese, but we have no holiday for Sushi food. I don't know the reason. Maybe Sushi is so important and general that we don't have to eat it on a special day. But if you want to eat delicious, professional coocked Sushi, you have to go to a high end restaurant. We Japanese love Sushi, and many cheap, junk Sushi are available in a convenience store. We tend to forget the real value of the Sushi food. Real Sushi food is not only a food, but it is a professional art work. If I can creat a new holiday, I want to make a Sushi day. By cerebrating the real estate of our ancestors' great work, we have to think of the value of Sushi again. |
