<< Parents are essential for their children so that their qualities have serious effect on their children's lives. I think that the most important things as father or mother is that they can educate their children properly and help them to lead competent life. When children are very little, good parents should exercise children on acquiring proper table manner, etiquette, and proper way of speaking. These things are common sense so that if children cannot eat according to proper manner in formal dinner with others, they will be ashamed. Bad manner and rude speaking will annoy or resent others. Although some might say that such common sense can be taught at school, primary education at home in early stage is very influential for infants. Therefure, parents should teach their children these common sense, which is essential for children to adopt themselves in the society. Good parents also must teach the fascination of some artistic or sports activity their son or daughter, which become their pleasure in the future. Some parents let their children learn musical instrument or sports. I think it is very good for their children. Trough these activities, children will know the fascination of these activities, which will not only increase their specific techniques related to the activities but become their life-long hobbies. Hobbies will enrich children�fs life profoundly. As for me, my parents gave me the mountain of various kinds of books and piano. These gift told me the beauty and fun of music and literature. Although parents should be harsh to make their children acquire social sense, after son/daughter is mature enough to consider their future for themselves, parents should not compel their children to go the way which parents want them to go. In short, the last important quality of parents is to be generous enough to respect their children's thought. Once son/daughter grow up enough to have their own vision of future, they should make their own decision for themselves. It is because parents cannot have responsibility to their children's whole life. Moreover, children will regret not to make such crucial decision about their future, like their occupation, marriage partner and so on. Therefore, unless their children are about to commit crime, parents should not interfere with their children�fs decision making.
