I think both studying style have merits in different ways and therefore, in order to acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills, we have to study alone at the same time work with others.  However I personally like spend more time on studying alone more than with others thinking about the type of knowledge and skills, which I need to acquire.

Group work has other merits than individual work. Discussion gives us to learn the way of communicating with others efficiently.  Listening to others opinions does not only increase knowledge and gain novel points of views that we could not find out by ourselves, but also get a precious chance to judge others' opinions objectively.   We also learn to speech persuasively through the meeting with others.

Studying alone is on the other hand, suitable for increasing knowledge from books, internet website, and other kinds of writing materials. Since we can choose kind of studying material for ourselves depending on our preference and necessity, we will be able to gain necessary knowledge efficiently.  As for me,  I have to acquire bountiful knowledge about English and Japanese culture and statement from as many writing materials as possible, since I aim at being an professional translator in the future and such knowledge is essential for the occupation.  Although I need to gain knowledge of statement that people use when speaking and this can be learned through experience of discussion with others, there are much more way of writing statement to master and they can be mainly gained from research of books done alone.  That is why I feel necessity of spending more time on studying alone.

With the analysis of both types of studying style, it is certain that we can learn important things from both studying experiences.  However as I mentioned earlier, I feel neccesity of increasing copious knowledge from writing materials for my future dream to be an professional translator and therefore, I would like to study alone more than with others.
