Blast rocks sectarian violence-hit Indonesian city
Indonesian police say they've arrested five people carrying bombs after a blast rocked
the sectarian hit city of Ambon ahead of a sensitive political anniversary.
The blast could be heard up to two kilometers away and sparked panic among
residents of an area bordering Muslim and Christian communities in the city.
Police said it was believed to have been caused by a home made device exploding in
an empty alley.
There was no damage or casualties.
The police in Ambon have been on alert in anticipation of the upcoming anniversary of
the separatist South Maluku Republic.
