As the name implies, this machine is designed to form a bead on the product being fabricated. The 19th Century PS&W machine came in two sizes, the No.4 & No.5, both pictured here.

The No.4 is larger with a 6" throat depth. The No.5 has a 4" throat depth.

The Beading Machine puts a finishing touch to the product, adds strength and appearance as well.

The 20th Century Machines have a capacity of 24 gauge metal. I would recommend 26 gauge and lighter for the 19th Century machines.

The process of beading a product should take several passes around the product thereby gradually increasing the depth of the groove until the desired depth is obtained.
