Charity concert in Dublin, The Point December 13 1998 with Ronnie Drew, Shane MacGowan & the Popes and Siobhan MacGowan.

They'll all be there ... Shane MacGowan + the Popes, Ronnie Drew, the Dubliners and Siobhan MacGowan who recently released her debut album 'Chariot', for the biggest night of Christmas Craic on the showbiz calendar this year.

Billed "Irish Rovers' Return", the wild men and women of Irish ballad and song will turn the Point Depot into a cauldron of fun, talent, and for many, nostalgia.

And punters and fans alike will have the added benefit of knowing that their money is going towards Ireland's largest self-help organisation in the field of mental health - GROW.

GROW helps its members develop a spiritual - but not religious - road back to full recovery through its programme and the support it provides. Its ethos is based on the well known fact that medication, while sometimes necessary at certain stages of recovery is not the answer to long term, sustained personal fulfilment. This can only come from other friendly human beings.

A night like this is perhaps one of the most fitting ways to compliment the GROW message. For mental health is about rising above life's confusion and pain in an act of personal celebration and of triumph.

But don't go for GROW - that's just the bonus - go for the show and leave knowing you've been in the best Christmas spirit for years!
