A sleeping baby brings angels near
To guard her sweet repose
A smiling babe brings angels forth
To share her joyful glow

A crying baby beckons them
To wash away her woes
But when you love a precious babe
The angels come in droves.

And so you see that angels come
To signify that those
Babies are a gift from God
And around us His love grows

Why do angels come to earth?
Heaven only knows!
For when God sends a loving thought
To earth an angel goes.
