Married Art in 1965, lived in Duluth, Virginia,
and then built a home in Zim in 1969. One daughter, born with many
medical problems, died at age 19 in 1995. As a result of Valerie's life,
I've helped to found two nonprofit charities - Range Respite in
Virginia, offering support to other caregiving families; and Valerie's Legacy,
to provide school and medical supplies to third world children.
Brought wheelchairs and other equipment to Dominican Republic in 1996 and
planning to go again in December 2000. Life is good!
