Introduction

Toki Player is a tool to display and convert linetest files created with Toki LineTest for Atari.
The linetest files can be converted into QuickTime movies and saved on your local hard disk.

User's manual

Open and display linetest:
Open the menu "File" and select the menu item "Open".
In the file selector, select a linetest file, which extension is LT.
Remark: Windows will filter the files based on the extension, but MacOS will not and shows all files.
Toki Player will first display an information box about the linetest properties. You can abort the process ("Cancel" button), or continue and load the linetest ("Load" button).
If the linetest has more than 1 xsheet, a second dialog box asks to select which xsheet you want to see, then click "Load" to process.
The linetest is converted, then displayed in the main window. Use the QuickTime tool bar to play and navigate within the movie.

Save movie:
Open the menu "File" and select the menu item "Save".
In the file selector, choose the location and file name of the movie file (On Windows system, the file must have the extension "mov")

Options:
Open the menu "Options" and select the menu item "Set options".
   - "Speed" sets the default speed of the animation. Until Toki LineTest version 2, the file doesn't contain the speed information. Then Toki Player will use the speed set in option. From linetest version 3, the file contains the speed for each xsheet, and Toki Player will use this speed.
Remark: to make the change of speed effective, the linetest file has to be reopened.
   - "Show counter" shows or hides the counter. The effect is immediate when the options are confirmed ("OK" button)
   - "OK" confirms and saves the options in the file "TokiPlayer.ini". Toki Player reuses these options every time it is launched. The file is located either in the application folder (Windows) or in the preferences folder (MacOS).

Known problems:

   1. The sound could be low quality and saturated in some conditions.
   2. Toki Player uses the Sorenson Video codec build into QuickTime. This codec may lose some details of the pictures, especially with light and low contrasted drawings.
