//A mustached man climbs up a cliff, and almost looses his footing. He continues onward, and
eventually reaches the top. However, when he reaches it, a pillar of light appears. A girl in
a blue komono stands there.

//On Vione...
Folken: Did it go well?
Naria: Yes. All training was completed smoothly.
Folken: I see. Good girls.
Naria: Who are those sorcerors who came with us?
Folken: They came here to take Dilandau with them. I'm hated by the sorcerors. I don't know the
details.
Eriya: They must be envious of you, Master Folken.
Naria: We hate sorcerors, too.
Folken: No, you shouldn't say such things about the sorcerors. Originally, i was a sorceror.
//Upon hearing this, the cat girls lean on Folkens lap, to say sorry.
Naria: I'm sorry.
Eriya: Master Folken, we missed you.
Naria: You're our mental nourishment.
Folken: I apologize to both of you. Lend me your strength.
Naria: We know. Our bodies...
Eriya: ...and our hearts, are yours, Master Folken.
//On Dryden's ship...
Dryden: That was a pain. It took me a while to figure out that it's written in characters of the
Phantom Moon.
Hitomi: The Phantom Moon...
Assistant: Young master, restrain yourself. You've caught Zaibach's attention. Nothing good will
happen.
Dryden: You can go home. I've decided to go to the Mystic Valley. Go back to Palas with the ship.
Assistant: No way. We lost our cargo, and you're not going back! How do I explain this to the
master?
Dryden: I'll write to him. He won't mind if I say I'm here with Princess Millerna.
Millerna: Dryden, I...
Dryden: You'll go, because Allen's going.
Allen: Why do I have to go?
Dryden: You have to, right? Because your father gave up his house, family and properties...
...to find the Mystic Valley. It's well known in Asturia. Even I knew it.
//Allen seems quite pissed off. Hitomi thinks to herself...
Hitomi: Allen's father...
Van: I want to go, too. The Mystic Valley is the homeland of the Dragon Clan. I want to see the
origin of the blood circulating in my body... ...and the secret between that land and
Escaflowne.
Dryden: Man, is it just coincidence that brings all those related to the Mystic Valley here?
//The Crusade takes off. Inside, Dryden read's from Allen's father's diary.
Dryden: "In the year when the crystal is in the northeast. On the 12th of Green. I'm heading for
Asguld Continent, the dark land no one has ever entered. Yes, I'm sure the Mystic Valley
is there. If I get there, I should find the power that creates miracles... ...that I've
searched for a long time. Yes, it's the power of Atlantis."
//We see a flashback, of the events which occured in the diary. A ship is in a storm, and is in
bad condition...
Crewmember: No, the rudder isn't working! It was impossible from the start, in a storm like this!
Helper: Captain, it's bad! The Energist won't cool down!
Captain: Damn, it's the curse of the Dragon Clan! Humans shouldn't have entered this sector!
Guys, let's turn the ship around!
//Allen's father grabs the captain and pulls a knife to his neck.
Leon: That's not what you promised. Keep going. I paid the amount you wanted.
Captain: You idiot! The ship won't hold together at this rate! You know that, don't you?!
Leon: You sold your life to me.
//Lightning strikes the ship, causing it to crash into the ocean. Leon is seen leaning on a piece
of driftwood in the water.
Leon: I wonder how many days have passed. I recalled that girl's voice... ...and her appearance,
in my dizziness, and... ...Asguld Continent appeared before me. God has guided me. This is
my fate.
Allen: Fate...?!
//Upon reaching land, Leon starts walking.
Leon: A play of fate brought that meeting in my youth... ...and sudden separation. I have to
ascertain my feelings for her etched deep in my mind. The Mystic Valley has everything...
everything I want.
Allen: Ridiculous! Was it only to find a girl, that he abandoned his house and family? How
pathetic.
Dryden: An interesting father, isn't he?
Allen: What?
Dryden: It sounds much better than mine, whose only concern is money. I like his way of life.
Hitomi: Allen...
//Meanwhile, back on earth at Hitomi's house...
Amano: Have you found any clues yet?
Hitomi's Mother: No. Sorry. It wasn't your fault, so don't worry.
Yukari: I still dream of Hitomi running towards me, while I wait at the station as usual...
...and she says, "Hello," but I always wake up at that moment...
//Yukari starts crying. Amano puts his hand on her shoulder.
Amano: Uchida...
Hitomi's Mother: I dream of Hitomi too. She should be fine. There must be many hardships, but I'm
sure she will...
//Meanwhile, back on Crusade...
Reeden: I can't see anything. It's just ocean as far as the eye can see. Sarge.
Gadeth: Keep going straight. Dryden said it's in this direction.
Reeden: Can we trust him?
Gadeth: The Boss said okay, so we have no choice.
//He speaks through a kind of intercom to the lower chambers.
Gadeth: Paile, how're you doing down there?
Paile: It'll take a little longer. We need some time to install the control chamber taken from
Dryden's Guymelef.
Teo: Damn, this screw doesn't fit!
Ort: Hey, don't break it!
Teo: I know!
//Back in the room, Dryden continues to read...
Dryden: "On the 16th of Blue, a blizzard and a rocky stretch blocked my way... ...as if it were
testing the one seeking trught. But in that place..."
//Leon reaches a cave.
Leon: ...I met an old man. There is another who believes in the existence of the Mystic Valley
and is searching for it. When I asked his name, he said, "Issac."
//We see Issac, a very familiar looking old man with long white hair. Back on earth, Hitomi's
mother takes out a photo album.
Hitomi's Mother: I've never told this to anyone... ...but I'd better tell you. My mother told
this to me once. It was when I was Hitomi's age. On the way home from a summer
festival, she was surrounded by a light. When she woke up, she was in a place
she'd never seen before.
//Back to Leon's story...
Leon: Issac's story was very interesting. He was looking for the Mystic Valley to solve the
mystery of Atlantis. Surprisingly, he said he came from the Phantom Moon, just like that
girl.
Hitomi: Phantom Moon...?!
Dryden: Just like you.
//On earth, we see a picture of Hitomi's grandma, the girl from the beginning of the episode.
Amano: That's...
Yukari: Hitomi...?
Hitomi's Mother: She's my mother.
//Hitomi finds herself traveling back in time, to the moment when Leon first saw the girl from
the Mystic Moon.
Hitomi: That's... ...Allen's father.
//The pillar of light appears.
Hitomi: That's...
//Hitomi's grandmother appears
Hitomi: That person...

//Leon reaches the top of the cliff. He walks up to the girl and kneels before her, holding up
her hand as the sun sets. Later...
Leon: I can't believe that you're an inhabitant of the Phantom Moon. I started this journey to
get rid of my fetters. But that sounds meaningless when I look in your eyes. Will you
forgive me?
//The pillar of light appears again, returning her to the Phantom Moon. Leon reaches out for her,
but its too late.
//Hitomi thinks of her grandmother.
Hitomi's Grandmother: Hitomi.
Millerna: Hitomi.
Hitomi: Grandma...?!
//Meanwhile in Zaibach, a sorceror sees General Adelphos.
Sorceror: General Adelphos, I've come to request permission for Dilandau to return home.
General Adelphos: A sorceror wants permission...? Although he's under my command now, you
sorcerors are the ones who sent him to me. Let me hear the reason.
Sorceror: He's sick. Chief of Staff Folken informed me.
General Adelphos: How unusual for that devil to become sick.
Sorceror: We'll return him to you once he's recovered.
//Dilandau screams in a medical room, bounded to a table and surrounded by the sorcerors.
Sorceror2: It's getting unstable.
Sorceror3: What's causing it?
Sorceror4: The Human Reformation experiment wasn't perfect.
Sorceror3: Keep this secret from Folken. You know that, don't you?
Dilandau: Shester, Gatti, Dallet, where are you?!
Sorceror2: It'll get worse. Let's put him to sleep. We'll have to perform another fate change
once we get to the mainland.
//Meanwhile, on the Floating Fortress...
Dornkirk: Asguld...? They must be heading for the Mystic Valley.
Folken: The legendary Mystic Valley...?
Dornkirk: Right. It's the homeland of the Dragon Clan, the Atlanteans. They must've figured it
out.
//We continue to listen to Leon's story.
Leon: On the 3rd of White, Isaac and I reached a field of heavy fog. The Mystic Valley must be
beyond this. However, Isaac disappeared before I knew it. We were seperated by this thick
fog...? Could that mean... No, I should concentrate on reaching the Mystic Valley. If I get
there, the mysteries of Atlantis will be solved. Then, I should be able to see that girl
again. If I could see her, I could...
Allen: I can't stand this.
//Allen walks out.
Hitomi: Allen...
Dryden: Are you running away? Trivial things like this can disturb a Knight of Heaven. How
interesting.
Allen: I don't think I'm going to like you.
Dryden: That's fine. I don't either.
Hitomi: Dryden... ...that was rude.
Hitomi gets up.
Millerna: Hitomi.
//Hitomi runs out.
Dryden: Another girl's gonna hate me.
//Hitomi finds Allen in the corner, looking upset.
Hitomi: Allen...
Allen: Hitomi...?
Hitomi: Yes.
Allen: How embarrassing it was for me...
Hitomi: No, it wasn't. I...
Allen: There's no way I can forgive my father... ...a guy who abandoned his family.
Hitomi: That's not true. You kept your father's diary. You could have thrown it away, but you
didn't. I think it's because, somewhere in your mind, you want to know about your father.
You're a kind person. You can't hate someone so much. If your heart truly despaired, I...
...no one would like you. You want to forgive your father don't you?
Allen: I might have been afraid... ...to know the reason he abandoned me. Maybe I can't accept it
in my heart.
Hitomi: Allen...
Allen: I wonder if you could forgive me.
//Meanwhile...
Dryden: Once we pass this, we'll be very close.
Van: I'll look around. You stay here, Merle.
Merle: Master Van...
//Van walks out into the hall. Meanwhile, Allen steps up close to Hitomi. The ship suddenly
shakes while passing some flying rocks. Hitomi falls into Allen's arms.
Gadeth: God, even the floating rocks are flying around! Reeden, keep watching ahead! If we crash
into one, it's all over!
Reeden: Right.
//Meanwhile...
Hitomi: Sorry...
//Van walks in, and is shocked at what he sees. Dryden comes in shortly after.
Dryden: There you are. We're almost there. Let's go to the bridge.
//On the bridge...
Reeden: There's a floating rock ahead! Hard to port!
Kio: Got it!
//They fly by it.
Gadeth: Hang in there! We should be close!
//They reach a clearing in the clouds.
Dryden: Clearing sky... The Mystic Valley's ahead of us...
//They arrive at a snowy area, devoid of any landmarks.
Hitomi: Is this the Mystic Valley?
Van: There's nothing.
Dryden: It can't be. It can't be...
Merle: What's wrong?
Dryden: A page has been torn out.
Paile: Sarge, here comes a Zaibach floating fortress!
Gadeth: What?
//The Floating Fortress appears.
Soldier: Asturia's high speed shuttle sighted!
Folken: Good. Naria, Eriya, can you hear me?
Naria: Yes, Master Folken. ready anytime.
Eriya: We'll bring your brother back.
Folken: I'm counting on you.
//The Guymelefs head out and head towards Crusade.
Naria: Let's do it.
Eriya: I know, Sis.
Naria: No doubt.
Eriya: It's them.
Allen: No, they're above us.
Gadeth: Are they going to force us to the ground? Paile, how's Scherazade?
Paile: No! We haven't even finished half of it!
//Hitomi has another flashback.
Hitomi's Grandmother: Hitomi... Your wish will come true, if you wish strongly. Hitomi, keep this.
Hitomi: Grandma, let us see the Mystic Valley. Show it to everyone. Please, Grandma.
Dryden: After coming this far... I want to see the Mystic Valley.
Van: Mother, what do you expect me to do...?
Allen: I can't die here. I'll settle the matter with you in the Mystic Valley.
//Naria and Eriya descend on the ship.
Folken: Van, what do you want to see in the Mystic Valley?
//Escaflowne's energist glows, enveloping the whole ship in a pillar of light. Naria and Eriya's
Guymelefs are knocked away. A portal appears above the ship and draws them in.
Folken: Impossible. The gate to Atlantis has opened.
