//A beam of light hits Crusade from below, sending it into the skies above. Naria and Eriya land
  outside of the light, onto the snowy ground.

Eriya: Sis, what should we do?

Folken: Stay there, both of you.

Naria and Eriya: Master Folken!

//The Vione flies near them. Folken, inside talks to them.

Folken: There's no entrance to the Mystic Valley. The entrance doesn't exist.

--------------------

The End of the World

--------------------

//The Crusade heads down through the pillar of light. The ship shakes.

Crewman: The rudders aren't working!

Crewman2: The lift gauge is maxed out!

//The Crusade continues to shake as the pillar of light, coming out of a large ring in the sky
  deposits them in a new area.

Van: Thats...

Allen: ...the Mystic Valley.

Dryden: Yes, it's the lost capital of Atlantis.

//The Crusade is now in a roman-like area, which is similar to that from the 15th episode. Hitomi
  clutches her pendant.

Hitomi: That's the Mystic Valley...

//Her pendant glows and Hitomi suddenly dissapears in a pink light.

Allen: Hitomi!

//Allen runs up to where Hitomi vanished. He dissappears as well.

Van: Allen!

//Van vanishes as well.

Merle: Master Van!

Crewman: B... Boss!

Merle: Master Van's vanished!

Crewman: What's going on?!

Crewman2: There! Hitomi's down there!

Dryden: Why? What's with this place?

//Dryden scratches his head in confusion.

Hitomi stands below.

Hitomi: I've seen this before. It's the same as the vision when Van was near death.

//She looks over the horizon at the city.

//Van stands in the ruins of Fanelia. A broken statue lies at his feet.

Van: Is this place...?

//A feather drops to the ground next to him. Van turns around, noticing many of them. He suddenly
  realizes where he is.

Van: Fanelia...

Vari: Van.

//Van turns around. His mother is standing there.

Van: Mother...!?

//Allen stands in a windy field. He turns around and sees his sister. She smiles at him then runs
  away, quickly vanishing.

Allen: Serena!

//Allen starts to chase after her.

Allen: No Serena!

//Allen stops and sees a house in front of him.

//Hitomi walks up to a monument.

Hitomi: Thats...

Merle: Hitomi!

//Merle, Millerna, Dryden and Gadeth run up to Hitomi.

Merle: Hitomi... ...where's Master Van? Where?

Dryden: Thats a monument with the characters of Atlantis... I'm sure... this is the Mystic Valley,
        the ruins of Atlantis.

Millerna: Can you understand that writing?

Hitomi: "Thirteenth month of the New Nebular Era..."

Dryden: Can you read it?

//Hitomi steps up closer to the monument and puts her hand on it. Suddenly, she has a vision of
  travelling through the Monument. She opens her eyes and is in Atlantis.

Hitomi: "We are the Dragon Clan, the descendants of Atlantis... who were born in the capital of
        Atlantis on the Phantom Moon."

Dryden: P...Phantom Moon...?! The Atlanteans are people from the Phantom Moon...

Hitomi: "Atlantis... They had a massive power and build an evil machine to surpass the gods."

//We see a large black, cone shaped machine.

Hitomi: "That machine converted people's wishes into power and made anything possible."

//Atlanteans stand around a large tower with a glowing energist on the top.

Hitomi: "And they created wings on their backs, and even changed their appearance."

//We see various winged Atlanteans. Hitomi stands on a staircase.

Hitomi: "However..."

//The tower blows up, causing a large explosion that engulfs the land. Fire causes the structures
  to collapse. A large group of Atlanteans holding up pendants stand in a large group.

Hitomi: That pendant...

//Light from their pendants causes a huge amount of energy to go through the atmosphere into
  space, forming a planet.

Hitomi: "Their strong wishes created a new planet, Gaea, in the sky. It was from the strong
        wishes of the Atlanteans... ...to prevent repeating their foolish mistakes. Gaea is a
        beautiful planet, which is held by the sky, loved by water, and grown by land."

Dryden: The power of wishes created Gaea...? A machine to convert wishes into power...? Thats
        the secret of Atlantis...?!

//Hitomi stares at her pendant.

Hitomi: How is this...?

Leon: I entrusted it to her.

//Hitomi turns around. She is in a snowy landscape. Leon stands there.

Hitomi: Who are you?

Allen: Father...

//Allen is standing next to Hitomi.

Van stands in Fanelia, seeing energy go out from the castle.

Van: This is a memory from earlier in my life...?

Vargas: Yes. It's a bloody memory of the Dragon Clan. ...the memory in your blood, Master Van.

//Vargas appears in front of Van.

Van: Vargas...

Vargas: Master Van, you shouldn't turn your eyes away from your fate. The Dragon Clan is
        descended from Atlantis.

//People appear behind him.

Vargas: To prevent Gaea from following Atlantis' path... ...you are fated to face it, and fight.
        You have to fight with Escaflowne.

Van: No, I don't want to fight anymore! I don't want to fight!

//Hitomi opens her eyes and steps closer to the monument.

Millerna: Hitomi...

Hitomi: Both Van and Allen are here.

Millerna: What are you saying...?

//Allen stands at his mother's grave.

Allen: Mother...

//Allen sees himself when he was younger, standing there.

Allen: Why am I...?

Leon: Allen...

//Leon appears in front of him.

Allen: Father...

Leon: Allen, I'm glad you're here. I guess my wish has come true.

//Hitomi watches as the two of them talk in Allen's home.

Leon: Well, what should I start with?

Allen: What can you tell me at this time?

Leon: You became a Knight of Heaven, didn't you? Your mother must be proud. Your mother... how's
      Encia doing?

Allen: She died while you were on your journey.

Leon: I see. Encia is...

//He removes his glasses and starts crying.

Allen: Why do you weep?

Leon: Anyone sheds tears if someone they love dies.

Allen: No, you didn't love my mother!

Hitomi: Allen...

Vargas: Yes, you hated it.

//Meanwhile, something attacks Van.

Van: No, please don't!

//Ghosts appear in front of him. Van slashes away with his sword and screams.

Van: Stay away! Don't!

//Escaflowne appears behind him. At the monument, Hitomi senses what's happening.

Hitomi: Van!

Millerna: Are you alright, Hitomi?

Merle: Hitomi...?

//Dryden looks up. The entrance to the Mystic Valley starts glowing.

Dryden: Damn, the sky's starting to look worse.

Gadeth: We may not be able to get outta here at this rate.

Dryden: This place is of Gaea, but not Gaea. We can't do anything.

Merle: Hitomi, can't you do something?

//Hitomi holds out her pendant.

Hitomi: Please, bring Van and Allen to us.

Vari: Don't.

//Vari appears in front of them.

Vari: You shouldn't use the power of wishes. Your wish comes from your anxiety. That wish
      realizes your anxiety.

Hitomi: My wish does...?

--------

Eyecatch

--------

Hitomi: I...

Vari: You're the one who is making Van and the others suffer.

Hitomi: No, I...

Vari: Your fortune telling... You think you're reading the future, but that is not so.

//Hitomi remembers Vargas's death, Allen getting injured and Van laying wounded on a table.

Hitomi: I...

Vari: Youre anxiety, amplified by your fortune telling... has chosen a sad result out of many
      possible futures. Even now, your heart is full of anxiety.

//The pendant swings, showing Van and Allen. Hitomi stands in a snowy field.

Hitomi: I... I've drawn a sad future into reality...? My wishes did...?

//Hitomi falls to the ground.

Hitomi: My fault... my...

Hitomi's Grandmother: Hitomi... believe...

//Hitomi sees her grandmother in back of her.

Hitomi's Grandmother: ...believe in someone you love.

//Hitomi turns.

Hitomi: Grandma...

//Allen stands in the snowy field as well.

Allen: Is this place...?

//A wounded Leon holds his injured arm as he walks. A large vehicle pulls up in front of him.

Allen: Zaibach soldiers...

Leon: They've been chasing me, ever since I left the Mystic Valley. They're after the secret of
      Atlantis.

Allen: Atlantis...?

//Zaibach soldiers surround Leon and attack him. He falls to the ground.

//Inside the vehicle, Dornkirk sits. A soldier brings him Leon's diary.

Soldier: Master Dornkirk, I've got the book.

//He gives it to Dornkirk, who glances at it.

Dornkirk: Causing us so much trouble...

//He notices a torn out page.

Dornkirk: Damn you...

//The corpse of Allen's father lays on the ground surrounded by soldiers.

Dornkirk: You've sacrificed your family and life... ...and you still don't want to give me the
          secret of the Mystic Valley.

//The book is dropped next to his body and the vehicle drives away. Leon holds his pendant in his
  hand and utters

Leon: The power of Atlantis... ...the power of wishes... Just one more time... just once... that
      girl...

//The song Perfect World starts playing.

"Now hear just what one pretends and wonders.
Counting for a Perfect World to mind us.
One can be a world that comes for slowly.
Two can be as lonely as each can be.
Searching and pretending as we wonder through this world.
Can we ever know where hearts go?
Three is just as perfect as a clear night.
For tonight is given to a fool find.
Searching and pretending we'll never know..
Can we say hello.
Do you still just look to count?
Until we face each mount.
Worlds make such a part with love.
For we know what worlds to come
Just show just what one knows.
If we add the fractions to the simple ones where there is love we'll figure to a Perfect World.
Now we're just where one pretends and wonders.
Counting for a Perfect World to mind us.
If we add the fractions to the simple ones where there is love we'll figure to a Perfect World.
Now we're just where one pretends and wonders
Counting for a Perfect World to mind us.
Now we're just where one pretends and wonders.
Counting for a Perfect World to mind us."

//He opens his eyes. The pillar of light brings the girl in front of him.

Leon: You're... why... ...why do you look the same as that moment...?

//She kneels down in front of him.

Leon: I see. The secret of Atlantis... this is the power of wishes. My wish at that moment was
      right.

//He holds up the pendant in front of her.

Leon: You keep this... ...I want you to keep this. Wishes will come true no matter how far apart
      we are... beyond time and dimension.

//He puts it in her hands. The pendant glows and she is sent back to earth.

Leon: Forgive me, Encia...

//He falls over dead, as his hand touches the book. It glows and vanishes. Allen watches from
  afar. Allen's house appears in front of him. Inside, his mother turns around as the diary
  appears on a desk. She picks it up.

Encia: Leon...

Allen: Mother... Mother loved father till the end. And father felt the same for her...

Leon: I loved her.

Allen: Then, why?

Leon: I got married because of family, and had children. I tried to live by denying my true self.
      But people want to break away from the thread of fate.

//Encia and Hitomi's grandmother appear beside him.

Leon: When I met that girl again, I realized that... ...I loved Encia... ...and you, Allen...

Allen: Father...

Leon: People can be so foolish... What's the power of Atlantis, and the wishes of people...? I
      didn't notice my own wishes, or Encia's either. Allen, be true to yourself, and nourish
      your wishes.

//He dissappears into the horizon.

Allen: Father, Father... Father!

//Hitomi appears in front of him and reaches for his hand.

Hitomi: Allen!

//Allen grabs it and appears near the others.

Allen: Father...

Gadeth: Boss! I'm glad you're safe.

Millerna: Thank goodness, you made it back.

Dryden: Was it Hitomi?

Allen: Yeah.

//Hitomi still stands at the monument.

Merle: Hitomi...

//Outside the Mystic Valley, Naria and Eriya stare at the entrance.

Eriya: Looks bad.

Naria: You're right, but shall we try?

//They fly through the entrance. A soldier on Vione notices.

Soldier: Naria's and Eriya's units are climbing, heading for the gate to Atlantis!

Folken: It's dangerous! Stop, both of you!

Naria: Don't worry. We have good fortune.

Eriya: We'll bring your brother back.

//They fly into the entrance.

Naria: Almost.

Eriya: With the power of our good fortune.

//The Entrance shakes. Inside, they watch.

Merle: W...what?

//Van still kneels in the ruins of Fanelia.

Vargas: I can hear, the sounds of war.

Van: I don't want to fight anymore. I don't want to fight!

//The Entrance glows, Naria and Eriya appear in their Guymelefs.

Allen: Guymelefs!

//They land.

Naria: We did it!

Eriya: We're so fortunate.

//Escaflowne glows and vanishes from the Guymelef Hangar.

Crewman: Escaflowne!

//Escaflowne appears behind the two Teiring Guymelefs. Naria and Eriya turn.

Allen: Escaflowne.

Merle: Master Van...?

Van: Are you the ones who brought me here?

Eriya: I won't let you get away this time.

Naria: No help from the cat, alright?

Vargas: Fight! Break away from the sadness of war with your bloody hands. Master Van!

//Escaflowne's sword goes to its full length.

//Van stands there with his sword. Hitomi calls out for him.

Hitomi: Van!

Hitomi's Grandmother: Believe in him.

//Hitomi turns.

Hitomi: Grandma.

Hitomi's Grandmother: If your anxiety brought bad incidents, the opposite should be possible.
                      Hitomi, believe in him.

Hitomi: Grandma...

//Escaflowne stands still.

Naria: What's with him?

Eriya: It doesn't look the same as last time.

Van: The pain of Escaflowne is my pain, the pain of war.

//Escaflowne steps towards them.

Van: If this war is unavoidable... ...I'll accept the karma of war... ...along with the sadness
     of the dead.

//Escaflowne lifts up its sword.

//Blue light appears from the entrance.

Hitomi: Van!

//On the Vione...

Folken: What's happening?

//The entrance cracks.

Folken: Thats...

//The Entrance to the Mystic Valley explodes. Naria and Eriya are swept out of the Mystic Valley.

Soldier: Incoming shockwave!

Folken: Van.

//The Vione along with the Guymelefs are blown away.

//The Crusade, along with its passengers and Escaflowne stand where the Mystic Valley used to be.

Allen: The Mystic Valley has dissappeared.

Merle: Master Van...

//Escaflowne's cockpit opens. Van steps out. His mother appears in front of him.

Vari: You shouldn't resurrect the power of Atlantis.

Hitomi: Van's mother...

Merle: Where?

Vari: Don't forget, Van. Your wishes will determine the future of Gaea.

Van: Mother!

Vari: Don't forget, Van.

//Vari flies away, but drops an energist into Van's hands.

Van: An Energist.

//Escaflowne's energist glows.

Hitomi: Escaflowne...
