//Allen and Hitomi have just kissed on a bridge. Hitomi looks up at Allen and backs up.
Hitomi: Um... I...
Allen: Hitomi.
//Hitomi sees Van, who was watching. Van looks at them happily then walks away.
Hitomi: Van...

//In the windmill, Van and Merle sit by a fire.
Merle: Geez, you got drenched.
//Merle takes off Van's shirt and hangs it up to dry. She dries his hair with a towel.
Merle: That's why I told you to leave a girl like her alone.
//Meanwhile, Allen brings Hitomi to her room.
Hitomi: Well, later then.
Allen: Hitomi. You'd better go to bed early, so you don't catch a cold. Princess Millerna's
marriage ceremony is tomorrow. Excuse me.
//Hitomi shuts the door.
//Meanwhile, the Vione is being repaired in Zaibach. Naria and Eriya duel with daggers. Naria's
dagger is knocked away. Eriya holds her to her chest, but is knocked to the ground. Naria beats
her down to the ground.
Naria: That was close. You almost won.
Eriya: Damn it. But my luck was stronger last time.
//We see her and Folken from the last episode.
Eriya: Even now.
//Naria leans over her.
Naria: Damn it. What's with this cheeky way of talking?
Eriya: But I was the winner, don't you see?
Naria: Say what? Were Master Folken's lips warm? Let me feel it.
Eriya: H...hey!
//Naria gets off of her.
Eriya: Naria... I want Master Folken's love. I realize now... ...if we hadn't kissed, my dream
wouldn't have been destroyed. Although Master Folken provides us compassion, I didn't feel

//They remember from years before when they were children, forced to the edge of a cliff.

//Naria and Eriya jump off the cliff. Folken flies down and saves them, bringing them to safety.
They back up against a wall and bite his hand when he holds it out.
Folken: Such a pity.. Your lives must have been hard. I'll give you new names. As of today, you
are reborn... ...to lead more fortunate lives.
Naria: We were supposed to have good fortune.
Eriya: But we haven't defeated the Dragon.
Folken: It appears impossible to surpass the strength of his fortune at your current fortune
level.
//Folken comes in.
Naria and Eriya: Master Folken.

Naria: "Fortunate blood?"
Folken: From Lord Dornkirk's studies... ...we choose people with better fortune and survivability
from all over Zaibach. Then we sampled fortunate DNA from their cells... ...and mixed
them, using the Fate Redirector... ...to create artificial blood. The risk is high. Even
the smallest mistake will...
Naria: I'm sure it'll be alright.
Eriya: Because we're fortunate.
Folken: Enhance fate.
//The room lights up, fortunate blood is implanted within Naria and Eriya.
//Meanwhile, in Palas preperations are made. Hitomi watches from a balcony.
Hitomi: I wonder if it's alright for Millerna...
//She looks at Allen and remembers what happened the night before.

//Hitomi thinks to herself.

circumstances. But you shouldn't be shortsighted. Ace of Birds... Five of Fish... The

//Hitomi thinks to herself.
Hitomi: If she proceeds with this marriage... ...she'll grieve because of someone close and get
involved in some sort of trouble.
Millerna: Hitomi...?
Hitomi: There'll be some minor difficulties in your married life, and... She flips over another
card.
Hitomi: Lovers...
//She sees Allen and Millerna together. The cards fall from her hand.
Hitomi: What was that?
Millerna: What's wrong?
//She sees them again, then stares at the tower card in her hand.
Hitomi: The Falling Tower...? That means this marriage is wrong. If I tell her this result, I'm
sure she'll cancel the marriage. But if she does...
//She sees Allen and Millerna together.
//Hitomi sees the L'Imperatore card in the pile on the ground.
Hitomi: L'Imperatore...? The sign of fortune. If I lean towards that card... ...I might be able
to draw its fortune.
//She holds them next to each other. Her pendant sways.
Hitomi: That's right. If the power of my wish works... ...I should be able to draw a better
future. I'm sorry, but if I wish strongly... ...it should be possible to change fate.
//The pendant swings to L'Imperatore and Hitomi puts it on the table.
Hitomi: Don't worry. This card indicates good fortune. That means you'll be happy in your
marriage to Dryden.
Millerna: Happy... with Dryden...

//The wedding begins. A large crowd stands in the town square. Millerna arrives sitting in a
boat. Dryden appears as well on another one. They head together towards the town center. Van
and Merle watch from the windmill. Knights hold up swords as they walk by. Aston, Meiden and
Eries watch from a balcony. Allen and the other Knights of Heaven raise their swords as they
reach the alter.
//Hitomi stares at the card.
Hitomi: Millerna, grasp for good fortune.
Kio: What's that?
Hitomi: A good luck charm.
Gadeth: "Good luck charm?"
Hitomi: To hope that Millerna and Dryden will be happy.
//Millerna and Dryden bow their heads.
Priest: Embraced by the sun, moon and this rich land of wind and water... ...sagacious children
of Asturia... ...today, on this holy day, a new...
//The Vione begins transporting away from it's current position in the clouds.
Dornkirk: Upon the seperation of the Dragon and the girl, the probability density has stabalized.
Now is the greatest opportunity to capture Kanzaki Hitomi, the key to fate redirection.
Folken: But what if the Dragon becomes influential again...
Dornkirk: If that happens, dispose of the Dragon.
Naria: Don't worry, Master Folken. Our fortune is now unequalled.
Eriya: We'll capture Kanzaki Hitomi.
//The Fate Redirector light up, as does their veins. Escaflowne's cockpit opens. Hitomi has a
vision of Palas in ruin.
Hitomi: Oh, no.
//Lightning strikes a tower.
Hitomi: No... ...it's just like the original reading...
//Dryden puts the ring on Millerna's finger.
Ort: That tomboyish princess is now a married woman.
//Hitomi sees her vision again.
Hitomi: No. This marriage mustn't...
//Hitomi runs away.
Gadeth: H...Hey...
//A beam from Escaflowne's energist appears, causing the Vione to appear in the sky above.
Van: That's my brother's...
//Naria and Eriya head out.
Eriya: They found us.
Naria: The Dragon revealed itself. Our fortune has definately been enhanced.
Hitomi: Wait!
Allen: Hitomi...
//Hitomi runs down the aisle. Millerna closes her eyes.
Hitomi: No!
//Hitomi trips.
Hitomi: You mustn't kiss!
//They kiss. The sky darkens as the Floating Fortress blocks it out.
Millerna: What?
Dryden: An eclipse at a time like this?
Priest: How ominous...
//Naria appears above them in her Guymelef.
Soldier: What's going on?
Soldier2: Enemy attack! Enemy attack!
Allen: Zaibach
Dryden: Millerna.
//Dryden picks up Millerna.
Aston: Why is Zaibach...?
//Crossbows are directed at the Guymelef.
Royal Guard: Melefs are moving out!
//The Fate Redirector causes the bows to snap and the Melefs to collapse. Allen is unable to get
in his Guymelef.
Allen: Malfunction...?! At a time like this...?!
//Lightning strikes a tower, causing the rubble to hit more Melefs. Dryden jumps to safety but is
hit himself.
Millerna: Dryden.
//Van heads there on Escaflowne.
Van: The castle is...
//Eriya appears behind him in her Guymelef.
Van: Not you guys again.
Eriya: I won't let you get close to Hitomi.
//She shoots at him, but Van dodges. Escaflowne turns around and lands on top of the Teiring, but
when he swings his sword, the Fate Redirector causes him to swing to the side and fall off.
Van: What...?
//The lights go out of the energists and Escaflowne falls to the ground.
Eriya: This is the power of enhanced fortune!
//Hitomi sits in the wreckage, Millerna comes by with an injured Dryden.
Hitomi: Dryden.
Millerna: Hitomi.
Hitomi: Are you alright? Come on.
//They bring Dryden to safety. Millerna tears off part of her dress to use as a bandage.
Dryden: Damn, how pathetic.
Hitomi: Dryden.
Millerna: That should do it for now.
//Escaflowne crashes nearby.
Hitomi: Escaflowne?!
Allen: Van.
//The two Teirings arrive and surround it. Escaflowne collapses.
Van: What the...?
Allen: No!
Folken: From the Zaibach soldiers with enhanced fortune, to the people of Asturia...
Van: Brother...
Folken: I repeat, from the Zaibach soldiers with enhanced fortune, to the people of Asturia...
Hitomi: Soldiers with enhanced fortune...? Fortune...
Folken: ...resistance is futile.
//Hitomi looks at her card.
Hitomi: Fortune... could it be because of this card...?
Folken: If you go against our fortune, you'll definately suffer from misfortune.
Hitomi: Because I used this card to switch fate...
//She remembers when she did it.
Hitomi: Because I switched fates, this happened.
Folken: We demand only one thing. The girl from the Phantom Moon... ...Kanzaki Hitomi.
Van: What?
Folken: If you don't want to suffer further misfortune, hand over Kanzaki Hitomi at once.
Millerna: No...
Dryden: No, you shouldn't go, Hitomi...!
Millerna: Dryden.
Hitomi: Because I... ...because I falsely read the fortune...
Millerna: Falsely read...?
Hitomi: It showed that this marriage would go bad. But I thought I could change... ...I thought I
could change it with the power of a wish.
Millerna: What do you mean?
Hitomi: The man most suitable for you is actually... ...Allen.
//We see a short flashback of him at the wedding.
Hitomi: But, I love Allen... ...so I didn't want to let go of my feelings. I changed the result
of the fortune telling and switched fates.
Millerna: Hitomi...
Hitomi: Everything is my fault.
//Hitomi gets up.
Millerna: Hitomi. Hitomi!
//Hitomi steps into the open, Dryden starts coughing.
Millerna: Dryden... Dryden, hang on!
//Hitomi runs out in front of the Guymelefs.
Hitomi: I'm here!
Allen: What the...?
Hitomi: I'm the girl from the Phantom Moon... ...Kanzaki Hitomi!
