Hitomi: Was it a dream or an illusion? The giants that attacked Fanelia set Allen's fort aflame.
Yes, my vision became reality again. The giants flew into the sky and attacked us. He
changed Escaflowne into a dragon and flew away to let us escape... ...and the giants
pursued.
//Dilandau and the Dragonslayers chase after Van.
Dilandau: You'd better fly faster or we'll catch up with you.
//Dilandau shoots at him and narrowly misses.
Dilandau: You see? It's gonna hit you.
//He fires again and hits Escaflowne. Van finds it hard to regain balance.
Van: The wind's turbulant!
//Escaflowne transforms back into it's regular form and lands on the ground. It gets hit
multiple times in the back. Dilandau and the others land and turn invisible.
Van: Bastards... They hid themselves again.
//Footsteps are seen in the ground as Dilandau steps towards him.
Van: What?!
//Escaflowne is hit.
Van: Damn it.
Dilandau's Guymelef reappers.
Dilandau: We've got you. You lured us away to save your friends, right? But I hate heroic men
like you.
//Dilandau hits him multiple times.
Dilandau: I really hate...
//Dilandau knocks him over.
Dilandau: What? Is it over already?
Folken: Are you going to kill him, Dilandau? You're supposed to capture him alive.
Dilandau: I was just playing, Chief of Staff.
//The Floating Fortress approaches from behind him.

//A group of goats watch as the Crusade passes over where Van was captured.
Pyle: Flames... I can see flames!
Allen: Can you see the remains of a Melef?
Pyle: I can't see any.
Allen: I see.
Merle: Could Van be...
Allen: No. They won't kill Van. The King of Fanelia is the only one who can pilot Escaflowne.
Gadeth: Don't worry. We'll save him.
Teo: I want to pay them back.
Reeden: I can't cool down myself down at this rate.
Ort: That's right.
Kio: I'll kill them.
Gadeth: Boss, what do you think?
Allen: How many are we?
Gadeth: Seven, including me.
Allen: It'll be difficult to fight that floating fortress head to head, but... We've got to find
them first.
Hitomi: Excuse me, Allen... I might be able to find out where Van is.
Allen: You predicted their attack on our fort, but...
Hitomi: It wasn't a coincidence. I can feel it. I've been able to guess things right since I was
little, and... I'm not sure, but my ability seems to have been strenghthened.
Allen: Even so, this is work for knights. You know that, right?

//Meanwhile, the Floating Fortress hides in a crater filled with Levi-Stones. Multiple Guymelefs
fly out of it.
Dilandau: I've sent a pursuit unit.
//Dilandau and Folken head towards Escaflowne.
Dilandau: They can't go back to their home country, so we don't have to hide here anymore.
Folken: You'd better be careful. Why don't we wait for their report?
Dilandau: You're prudent, as usual.
//They reach Escaflowne.
Dilandau: Now, a piece of our future's secure. Pull the samurai out and destroy it now.
Folken: I cannot allow that.
Dilandau: Why not?
Folken: This is supposed to threaten our future.
//Folken cuts his finger on his sword.
Folken: We must discover the reason why.
//Folken places his hand on Escaflowne's energist. The cockpit opens and Van falls out.
Dilandau: H... he's...
//He remembers meeting Van in Asturia.
Folken: Yes, he's the new King of Fanelia.
//Three Guymelefs fly over Crusade, hiding under a cliff and don't notice it.
Teo: Don't scare me.
//Hitomi and Allen sit at a table. Merle and Gadeth watch. She deals some Tarot cards on the
table. Kio, Reeden and Paile watch from outside.
Paile: Hey, will she be able to tell our boss's past?
Reeden: Quiet.
Hitomi: This is the card of Il Pazio. Selfish life... eccentric action... This card tells of your
father's personality. His shadow covered your family, then seperation... That means
broken family.
Paile: Is that right?
Kio: I don't know. He doesn't like to talk about his past.
Hitomi: Did I guess right? His sister disappeared and his mother died because of his father...
Allen: Well, continue...
Hitomi: What should I do? He seems angry. Did I say something bad? But I have to make him believe
me.
Allen: Something wrong, Hitomi?
Hitomi: No... Just say it. Il Guidizio is the card of judgement. In the near future, you might
see your father again. But because you adhere to the past, your grudge... A... and this
card...
Allen: Thank you, Hitomi. That's enough.
//Allen signals Gadeth to get something.
Hitomi: Umm... did I...?
//Allen puts the map Gadeth got him on the table.
Allen: You passed. Find out where Van is.
Hitomi: Yes.
//Van awakens in a candled room. Folken sits at a nearby table, whistling. Van gets up.
Van: Who are you?
//Folken walks up to Van.
Van: That is a song of Fanelia, but why...?
//Van sees his sword on the table and grabs it. He pulls off the sheath and says...
Van: Take me to my Guymelef.
Folken: Do you think a soldier of Zaibach would give in to such a bluff? You can't escape this
floating fortress.
Van: If I have to be your puppet to survive...
//Van hold the sword up to his neck. Folken pulls out his sword and knocks it away.
Folken: You shouldn't take your life lightly.
//Folken removes his cape and shirt. Wings come out of his back.
Van: B... Brother...

//Hitomi swings her pendant over the map.
Gadeth: I wonder if she can find him with stuff like that.
Merle: Shhh....
Mole Man: Well, in our life, whatever comes out will come out.
//Meanwhile...
Folken: It's been a while, Van. It's been ten years, hasn't it?
Van: I didn't believe that my brother ran away from his inauguration. He fought a dragon and was
killed. He never turned his back to the enemy, and fought until the end. But why are you
with Zaibach?! Why did you burn Fanelia?! Answer me, Brother! What's so funny? Don't smile!
//Folken grabs Van.
Folken: Van, why don't you visit the emperor of Zaibach, Dornkirk, with me? And we'll explore our
new future.
//Hitomi continues to swing the pendant over the map.
Allen: Do you want to take a break?
Hitomi: No. Let me continue. If I... If I only had some token of his...
Merle: I do. Here.
//Merle give her the bandage Van put on her in the last episode.
Merle: What should I do?
Hitomi: Envision him in your mind.
//They hold hands and swing over the map. Hitomi sees a vision of the fortress with Van inside.
Allen: It's where the wandering continents gather.

Allen: Yes. They're like the floating rocks that this ship has.
Gadeth: That's it. It's an ideal place for that floating fortress to hide.
//Hitomi smiles and passes out.
Allen: Hitomi!
Merle: Hold on.
//Meanwhile, Dilandau looks at Escaflowne.
Dilandau: This might threaten the future of the Zaibach Empire, huh? It's just an antique. How
did Folken see through it's trick?
//Dilandau puts his hand up to the energist.
//Crusade flies over the crater.
Pyle: There it is. Right there. Floating fortress, confirmed.
Allen: Alright, heat up the floating rocks. Cut the lift and charge into the fortress at once.
//The energist powers the ship.
Teo: Lift's dropped to twenty!
Allen: Good! Retract the sails! Dive!
//The sails retract and Crusade falls into the crater. Dilandau touching Escaflowne causes an
explosion.
Dilandau: Aaaah!!!!
//Crusade falls and hits a floating rock, causing it to shake. It nears the smoking part of the
fortress.
Folken: What was that?
Soldier: Something's exploded in the hangar!
Soldier2: Enemy attack from directly above us!
Folken: What?
//The Crusade slides against the Floating Fortress.
Allen: Anchor!
//The anchor is shot out, connecting the Crusade to the Floating Fortress.
Teo: Lift regained!
Allen: Alright. Cut the wire. Raise the propellors.
//The Crusade nears an opening in the Fortress.
Allen: Launch the rear docking anchors!
//The Crusade goes against the side of the Fortress.
Allen: Alright, board it!
Gadeth: Charge!
//They charge the Fortress. Allen looks around.
Gadeth: The enemy!
//A group of Zaibach soldiers arrive.
Allen: They've come.
Gadeth: Let's do it, guys.
//Van listens to the noise from inside his room.
Van: What the hell's happening?
//Kio takes out multiple soldiers, Pyle is chased by a few, but Reeden takes them out from above.
Mole Man: Treasure, treasure...
//Meanwhile, some of the Dragonslayers wonder what they should do.
Gatti: Where's Master Dilandau?
Shester: I don't know.
Gatti: We can't move without his orders. Let's split up and find him.
//They split up. Allen meanwhile takes out 4 soldiers and spots a hangar.
Allen: Escaflowne...!
Shester: Intruder!
//Allen easily knocks his sword away and holds his sword up to his neck.
Allen: Alright, don't move.
//Meanwhile Merle and Hitomi are on the Crusade.
Hitomi: Allen...
//Hitomi has a vision of Dilandau attacking Van from behind. Hitomi holds her head.
Merle: What's wrong?
Hitomi: I saw it.
Merle: Saw what?
Hitomi: I have to go.
Merle: Where?
Hitomi: I have to tell Van.
Merle: Hey!
//Van hears his door being unlocked. Shester stands at the door and is knocked out by Allen.
Allen: You look okay.
Van: Allen! You came to rescue me?
Allen: We don't have much time, let's go.
//Hitomi looks over the gap from the Crusade to the Floating Fortress and thinks to herself.
Hitomi: Distance, five meters... No, almost six meters.
Merle: Hitomi! Hitomi! What're you gonna do?
//Hitomi removes her jacket and throws it to Merle.
Hitomi: Hold this. I'm going to jump over there. My broad jump record is five meters and forty.
Alright.
Merle: What're you thinking? There's no way you can jump that. It's too far. You'll die if you
fall. You'll become flat. You...
//Hitomi gets ready and starts running.
Merle: Hey!
//Hitomi jumps over the gap.
Hitomi: I did it!
Merle: S...she's monstrous...
//Hitomi runs down a dark hallway.
Hitomi: I have to tell him as soon as possible.
//Hitomi runs as Allen and Van make their way to the hangar.
Allen: Escaflowne's that way. Leave them to me.
Van: Got it.
//Van runs into the hangar just as Hitomi makes it there.
Hitomi: There he is.
//Hitomi is about to call out to him when someone else does.
Folken: Van.
//Folken is on an upper level.
Van: Brother!
Hitomi: Brother...? Van's...?
//Folken throws Van his sword and walks away.
Van: Brother!
Hitomi: Van.
//Dilandau, hiding in the smoke behind Van in the hangar draws his sword.
Hitomi: Van, behind you!
//Van block's Dilandau's attack.
Dilandau: I should have killed you! I hate you!
//Van pulls out his sword and blocks again.
Dilandau: I hate you! I really hate...!
//Van slashes Dilandau in the face. Some hairs and blood fall to the ground. Dilandau screams and
falls to the ground.
Dilandau: My face... my face... my face...
Van: Hitomi, this way!
Hitomi: Okay!
//Allen takes out another soldier as Van approaches him in Escaflowne.
Van: Allen, let's go!
Allen: Gadeth, let's pull out!
Gadeth: Okay!
//He finishes out the last soldier.
Gadeth: Guys, mission complete!
//Crusade takes off. Dilandau walks nearby holding his face.
Dilandau: How dare you... ...my beautiful face...
//The Crusade spreads its sails.
Soldier: Asturia's high speed ship's ascending! It's escaping!
Soldier2: The Energist hasn't regained its power! No power output from the engine!
Folken: Van, you'll join me someday.
//On the Crusade, Merle hugs Van.
Merle: Master Van! I'm so glad.
Van: Don't cry. I was supposed to save you, but you saved me again.
Allen: This is all thanks to her.
Van: Is that so? Thanks.
Hitomi: Geez.
Allen: To starboard, full! Head for Palas, the capital of Asturia.
Hitomi: Palas...
//Van looks at his sword with anger on his face.
