"If you'd stop squirming it wouldn't hurt so much!" the doctor replied.
Skuld looked at the needle in her arm and stopped trying to get away.
Seconds later it
was out of her arm.
"Ow that hurt!" Skuld whimpered as the doctor put a Band-Aid on Skuld's arm.
"I'm sorry, I should have said don't move earlier." the doctor said.
Skuld rubbed her arm where she was stuck and looked at the doctor.
"Can I go now?" Skuld asked.
The doctor nodded and Skuld slid off the table and followed Keiichi out the
door.
"What a wimp." the doctor said as she cleaned off the counter.
In the lobby...
Keiichi and Skuld walked over to where Belldandy and Urd were waiting. Urd
had a I
wanna get even or worse look on her face. Belldandy is reading a magazine
while waiting for
Keiichi.
"Well, she survived it." Urd said as she saw Skuld.
"She doesn't look too happy about it." Belldandy said.
Keiichi walked over to Belldandy and sat down next to her.
"You OK?" Keiichi asked.
Belldandy nodded and tossed the magazine on the table.
"That hurt." Skuld whined still rubbing her arm. She rolled down her sleeve
and looked at
Keiichi.
"What about the car? I would like to get out of here." Urd said.
"Well, we're just going to have to change the tire." Keiichi replied.
"Well, let's do it." Urd said standing up and walking towards the door.
Keiichi, Belldandy, and Skuld followed Urd out the door and to the car.
Keiichi unlocked the door and popped the trunk. He walked to the back of the
car and
opened the trunk. He then lifted the carpet and a wooden board.
"What?! No spare?" Keiichi asked.
"I don't relish the idea of being stuck here." Urd said.
"Rats." Skuld swore.
"Oh dear." Belldandy sighed. She looked around and began to use her powers
to fix the
tire. A few seconds later the tire was fixed.
There is a rustle of leaves from a nearby bush.
"Who's there?" Keiichi called out.
A figure jumped up with a video camera. He has short black hair and glasses.
"Ayoshima! You nimrod!" Urd exclaimed.
Ayoshima grinned at Belldandy.
"My dear, you have a wonderful way of changing tires." Ayoshima said patting
the
camera.
Skuld looked around and spied a wasp on Ayoshima's camera.
"Don't move. A wasp landed on your camera." Skuld said.
"AAA! Kill it!" Ayoshima yelled.
Skuld reached for her hammer and swung it at the camera.
"My pleasure!" Skuld exclaimed.
SMASH! Bits of plastic, glass, and tape fell from the camera.
"Ow that hurt!" Skuld exclaimed rubbing her arm.
Ayoshima lay on the ground semi-conscious.
"Mary had a lamb little. Snow as fleece white it's was as. Went lamb go
everywhere to
sure Mary the and that was." Ayoshima mumbled.
Belldandy looked at Ayoshima and then at Skuld.
"Skuld! That wasn't nice!" Belldandy scolded.
Skuld looked up at her sister surprised.
"But..." Skuld whimpered.
"That was funny!" Belldandy laughed.
"Let's scram while we can." Urd said getting in the car.
They all piled in the car and headed home.
At the temple...
Keiichi pulled into the entrance and parked the car. The next person to use
it was waiting
by the entrance. Keiichi got out of the car and went to give the keys to the
person.
"GAAHH! Sayoko!" Keiichi exclaimed none to happy to see Ayoshima's cousin.
"Hey, I'm off to pick up my cousin from the mall." Sayoko said after Keiichi
handed her
the keys.
"Uh, try the hospital. He was sneaking around there last time I saw him."
Keiichi said
walking towards the house.
Keiichi walked up the path and saw Belldandy, Skuld, and Urd talking and
laughing.
"That was so funny. My pleasure! WHAM!" Belldandy laughed.
"Nice going Skuld. Since I don't have my powers I can't edit or delete tapes
that
effectively." Urd said ruffling Skuld's hair.
"I didn't mean to knock him out." Skuld said brushing her hair back in place
with her
hand. "In fact I didn't even mean to do it at all." Skuld said.
Urd looked up towards the sky.
"Which means Kami-sama forced you to do it." Urd said.
"Or the Ultimate Force System." Keiichi said.
"Well, he should be feeling all right now." Belldandy said. "I'm going to
make lunch."
Belldandy added walking into the house.
In some police station somewhere...
The police chief glared at the officer from across his desk.
"What do you mean disappeared?!" the chief snapped.
"Well, uh, you see this Marller just sank through the floor in a twirling
cloud of smoke and
vanished as soon as we transferred her here." the officer said. "Great he
thinks of me as a raving
lunatic.".
The chief took a sip of coffee from his mug.
"Did she say where she was from? And who she really is?" the chief asked
turning his
mug upside down and shaking it. A grayish black mug shaped object hit the
desk with a thud.
"She said her name was Marller. First Class Demon. She said she resides in
Niflheim."
the officer said looking at the new object on the desk.
"Damn month old coffee. If I hadn't heard the same story from Sven then I'd
say you're
nuts." the chief said.
"Just one more thing sir. This Ayoshima idiot keeps calling me saying there
are three
goddesses living in the old temple. Could these things be related?" the
officer said.
The chief leaned back in his chair and looked at the officer. True some
weird things have
been happening around there in the past year.
"Well, if you find this Marller again use what ever means possible to detain
her and bring
her over to that temple and question the people living there. I would like to
know what the heck is
going on too." the chief said. "Dismissed.".
The officer walked out of the chief's office and was out of sight.
"Why me? Why here?" the chief asked.
Just then the scanner crackles to life...
"1354 to base. I'm at the scene of a hit and run. The victim is a scantily
clad tan skinned
foreigner with white hair who strangely isn't injured." an officer said.
"BASETO1354! DETAIN THAT VICTIM!" the chief yelled after grabbing his
microphone.
Back at the temple...
Belldandy walked out of the kitchen with a tray of sandwiches and some
lemonade.
Belldandy set the tray on the table and sat down. Keiichi was reading a book
at the moment and
sat up suddenly.
"Kei-san?" Belldandy asked.
Keiichi looked at each of the goddesses.
"Do you three feel it too?" Keiichi asked.
Skuld and Belldandy nodded. Urd rolled her eyes and reached into the seat
cushion and
pulled out a baseball bat. Skuld reached into her shirt and retrieved a bomb
from her magical
hold everything pocket. Keiichi and Belldandy reached elsewhere for bats.
Skuld looked out the
window and saw who was coming up the driveway.
"It's Marller and a policeman!" Skuld said
"Hide the bats." Keiichi said as the door chime sounded.
Belldandy hid her bat and went to answer the door.
"Afternoon. We received a tip that you were related to this Marller person
here." the
officer said.
Belldandy sent a message to Keiichi.
"Quick! Hide Urd! Oh forget it!" Belldandy sent. "Come in, sir." Belldandy
said letting the
officer and Marller in.
Belldandy led the group inside to the living room.
"Sister!" Marller exclaimed as she saw Urd.
"Huh?" Urd asked.
"Coincidence. Is there a place where we could put her for now?" the officer
asked.
Belldandy nodded and pointed to the bedroom down the hall.
"Hmm, it will have to do. Hey kid? Could you watch her for me?" the officer
asked Skuld.
To Belldandy's, Urd's, and Keiichi's surprise Skuld didn't yell at the
officer.
Skuld looked at the officer.
"Sure!" Skuld replied.
"I have an extra radio I can lend you. Just press the button and yell help
or something."
the officer said lending Skuld a small radio. The officer then led Marller
into the bedroom
followed by Skuld.
"Be good." the officer said to Marller.
"Gee, that's kind of easy with these damn things on." Marller said
indicating the cuffs
behind her back.
The officer went back to the living room. Skuld made a low whistle,
Banpei-kun rolled out
from beside Skuld's bed and turned to face Marller. Skuld knew if Marller
moved Banpei-kun
would warn her.
An uneventful minute passed. Banpei-kun beeped, Skuld spun around and put
the radio
up to her mouth and found herself embedded in the ceiling.
"HE*" Skuld managed to transmit before getting embedded in the ceiling.
Marller smiled and let the young goddess feel the effects of a pulse wave.
The wave hit
Skuld and went through her. Skuld's body felt like she had been hit by a
speeding brick wall. The
radio crumbled and bits of it fell to the floor from Skuld's hand. Skuld
opened her eyes and
attempted to glare at Marller.
"So a bit of fight is left in you huh?" Marller asked letting Skuld have
another pulse wave.
"Why am I doing this? She can't hurt me." Marller thought.
The second wave was worse. Skuld tried to scream but her brain felt like
mush and she
lost consciousness as she was hit by the wave. Marller looked up at the young
goddess who is
still embedded in the ceiling.
"Hey, sis!" Urd called out.
"Huh?" Marller asked turning her head to meet a baseball bat. "ohshit*"
Marller managed
to think before unexpectedly winning a free tour of the universe.
Belldandy, Keiichi, and the officer ran down the hallway to see Urd standing
over Marller
with a bat.
"What the hell happened here? And how did she get out of those handcuffs?"
the officer
asked.
Belldandy gasped.
"SKULD!" Belldandy yelled looking up at Skuld.
Skuld is still embedded in the ceiling. Her hair is the only part of her
body affected by
gravity.
The officer put the handcuffs on Marller again and looked up towards the
ceiling.
"What the hell?" the officer asked waving his hand under Skuld. "So, she IS
a demon!"
the officer exclaimed.
"Quick! Make one of those star in a circle things! It'll keep her from doing
anything!"
Keiichi said running for a marker.
Belldandy reached in her hanging organizer for a marker and drew a circle
and then a
star around Marller. When she had completed it she stepped back. The circle
and star started to
glow and pulse. With a faint moan Skuld fell from the ceiling and hit the
floor.
The officer yelled something into his radio and bent down over Skuld to feel
for a pulse.
"I've radioed for an ambulance. She has a weak pulse but she should be all
right when
the paramedics get here. We just have to make sure she keeps breathing." the
officer said to
Keiichi, Belldandy, and Urd.
Belldandy bent down and put her hand on Skuld's forehead. She sensed that
Skuld
would be all right. Belldandy just wished the officer would just leave.
"You, go wait outside for the ambulance." the officer said to Urd who was
just standing in
the doorway out of the way.
Urd nodded and ran outside to the entrance.
Outside...
Urd looked up and down the street. Seeing nothing she leaned against the
wall. She
looked towards the sky and wondered what The Lord was doing right now to help
Skuld. In the
distance she heard a siren wailing getting slowly closer.
"Kami-sama, what are you waiting for?" Urd asked clasping her hands
together. "Skuld
needs your help!" Urd thought praying for a miracle.
Urd looked down at the ground. Her hands were glowing a soft blue. Soon Urd
was
engulfed in a bluish-white light.
"I hereby give you your license back and all the entitlements along with it
except the
ability to return home." a voice announced.
The light faded seconds before the ambulance pulled up. Three medics jumped
out and
followed Urd into the house. Urd led them into the bedroom. Skuld still lay
on the floor
unconscious.
Somewhere...
Skuld is sitting on a vast plain looking around. She sees nothing, no one is
around.
"Well, if I stay here I'll never know where I am. That darn Marller must've
sent me
somewhere." Skuld said standing up and looking around again. She started
walking in the
direction she felt was right.
"Or am I in another dimension?" Skuld asked.
In the bedroom...
The medics probed Skuld's body for signs of internal injury. Finding none
they asked
Keiichi what happened.
"Well, when we ran in she was kind of like embedded up there in the
ceiling." Keiichi
replied pointing to the damaged ceiling.
Marller moaned and raised her head and looked around. She saw a group of
people in
blue coats around someone on the floor. She sat up and rubbed her head where
she was hit.
Then she noticed what she was sitting in the middle of.
"Oh crap." Marller said as soon as she saw the circle of confinement.
"I believe she is in a coma." one of the medics said to Keiichi and
Belldandy.
"Will she be all right?" Keiichi asked.
"It may be a while before we can find out." one of the other medics said
sticking an IV in
Skuld's arm.
Elsewhere...
Skuld kept on walking in the direction she had decided on. She now was
getting the
feeling she was alone here.
"OK, this is not funny. I'm lost and I don't even know where in time and
space I am."
Skuld said to no one.
Skuld felt a sharp pain in her left arm.
"OW! What the heck?!" Skuld asked looking at her arm. "Nothing. That's odd."
Skuld
thought. She then tried to use her powers to fly. Also nothing...
Back in the room...
The medics now have Skuld on a stretcher and are bringing her out to the
ambulance.
Belldandy opted to ride with them to the hospital.
"We'll follow in the motorcycle." Keiichi said getting his keys and the
helmets.
"Looks like I'm stuck here with the demon." the officer said looking at
Marller. "You,
demon, get those handcuffs on now!" the officer ordered Marller.
"Just call me Marller, thank you. Damn what a headache!" Marller unhappily
replied.
The officer radioed HQ and put in his request for obtaining a way to hold
Marller for a
while.
In the ambulance...
Belldandy looked at Skuld with tears in her eyes. Never in her existence did
Belldandy
ever have trouble brining someone back from their sub consiousness. Belldandy
knew the
medics were trying their best to bring Skuld around.
"If Urd had her powers she could probably bring you out." Belldandy thought.
She looked
out the window and saw Keiichi and Urd following the ambulance.
"Hey! Belldandy! I have my license back! If no one is around we can join our
powers and
see if that works." Urd's voice said in Belldandy's mind.
Belldandy looked at Skuld and sighed. Urd having her license back could be a
good
thing. She has more power than Belldandy has and could probably bring Skuld
out of her coma.
It could also be a bad thing. Urd could level a city if she really wasn't
paying attention to
whatever she was doing. Belldandy shook her head and wiped tears from her
eyes.
Elsewhere...
Skuld stopped walking and sat down on the ground. She wasn't tired, she is
just scared
and confused. Skuld looked around and then down at her hands. They started to
blur, Skuld
wiped her eyes and brought her knees up to her face. She just sat there
silently crying not
knowing what to do. After a few minutes of this she dried her eyes and looked
around again.
"Somebody help me!!" Skuld cried out. She lay back on the ground and bumped
her
head.
"Ow! Geez that's hard!" Skuld said looking more closely at the ground, she
wiped her
eyes again.
Upon closer inspection the ground turned out to look like the circuit matrix
floor of
Yggdrasyl. Knowing that the matrix floor has identification numbers Skuld got
an idea.
"If I didn't know better I'd say I was in my node of Yggdrasyl. Which means
there should
be an ID number like S-1483 around here somewhere." Skuld said probing the
floor. She looked
and found a number on one section of the floor.

"Yikes! I'm IN my section of the computer! Which means I'm unconscious big
time or
seriously injured." Skuld said. "I'm IN my power distribution system. The
system that controls my
powers." Skuld said aloud as she probed the floor to see if there was any
damage to it.
"Which gives me an idea but my father would get uh just a tad steamed if he
found out."
Skuld said thinking of increasing her power level. "If I screw around with
this then I could
probably contact someone to give me a hand." Skuld said about to remove a
section of the floor.
A thought entered Skuld's mind and made her stop what she was doing.
Termination.
Skuld winced and quickly withdrew her hands from the plate. She looked at
the plate for
a long time not daring to move.
"If I tinker with something I risk terminating myself." Skuld thought not
pleased with the
idea of accidentally triggering the termination program. Skuld stood up and
continued walking.
After some time Skuld looked down at the floor to see if she was getting
anywhere. She
noticed the floor had slightly changed color to a darker blue. Curious she
looked for an ID tag.

shrugged
and continued walking. She stopped when the floor changed color again. A
deeper blue than
before. Skuld looked for a ID tag again.

Skuld sat down on the floor and rubbed her temples.
"This is nuts. How can I be walking the PDS if I'm unconscious? No one is
allowed
access to this system. Any unauthorized personnel caught here would be
terminated." Skuld
thought. She looked again at the floor.
"There should be a way of telling what system this is." Skuld thought
examining the plate
she was on. She noticed small status lights on each plate. She saw a few
large chips and
random electrical parts she couldn't identify.
"A-ha! GPDS! Goddess Power Distribution System!" Skuld exclaimed. "Or
Goddess
Protection/Defense System." Skuld thought. Skuld stood up and ran in the
direction she had
come from. Skuld watched the floor change colors twice and stopped running.
She looked
closely at the floor now.
"Hah... S-1483 hah... 44739021 hah..." Skuld said out of breath. She looked
closer and
saw that most of the status lights were out.
"Hah, what the hah, hell?" Skuld asked looking at the lights beneath the
transparent
platform.
Skuld sat up and watched the floor do a little dance before passing out.
Down below...
The medics rushed Skuld into a large room with a large machine that looked
like a
torpedo tube to Keiichi. The medics put the young goddess onto the platform
and activated the
machine. A few seconds later the doctors were looking at a computer image of
Skuld's head.
"Strange, I don't see any damage or anything." one of the doctors said.
"Mmm, she must've fainted and hit her head." another doctor said. "Causing a
mild
coma." the doctor added.
Belldandy, Keiichi, and Urd stood outside the room. Skuld was brought out
and was
brought down the corridor out of sight. The two doctors walked out and
confronted the group.
"Will she be just fine. She is still in a coma but it looks minor. She'll be
in room 345B if
you want to stay with her." the doctor said as everyone walked for the
elevators.
Three floors up...
Belldandy was the first in the room. Skuld had just been in there a few
minutes and was
hooked into a heart rate monitor which was beeping away. Belldandy held
Skuld's hand hoping
she'd wake up. Urd reached out and touched Skuld's forehead.
"I sense she's in pretty deep. I'll try to bring her around." Urd said.
Belldandy let go of Skuld's hand and let Urd try her powers. Urd may be
Second Class
but she has more power than Belldandy.
"Darn it! Full power." Urd groaned. Urd gave up a few seconds later.
"Urd?" Belldandy asked.
"I can't do it." Urd said breathing hard.
Keiichi got an idea.
"Hey, anyone here have her hammer?" Keiichi asked.
Belldandy and Urd looked at Keiichi.
"Why?" Urd asked still out of breath.
"It's sorta like a favorite stuffed animal to her. And Banpei-kun too."
Keiichi replied.
"I can go get them!" Belldandy exclaimed.
Belldandy reached into her pocket and retrieved the make-up kit she carried.
She
reached out her finger and activated her travel medium. In a matter of
milliseconds Belldandy
was gone. Keiichi walked to one side of Skuld's bed and held her hand.
"You're gonna be all right kid." Keiichi said to Skuld.
Elsewhere...
Skuld moaned and lifted her head to see the same vast plain she had hoped
not to see.
She stood up and looked for anything new.
"Aww, I wish I weren't here. Thank you, Marller." Skuld said looking down at
one of the
floor plates. "Hey, a few more lights are lit now." Skuld thought.
Skuld became aware of a slight pain coming from her right upper arm. She
rubbed it to
make the pain go away.
"If I can feel pain then I'm not totally unconscious. I wonder why my left
arm hurts too."
Skuld said. Her stomach growled making a loud noise.
"Now, what can I eat around here? I must say computer chips are not very
good eating."
Skuld said. She sat down again and waited.
"Maybe if I wait my body will recover and I'll be able to eat soon." Skuld
said.
At the temple...
Belldandy walked all over the interior of the house looking for something.
She had
Skuld's hammer in her hand and a few other things belonging to Skuld.
"Banpei-kun? Where the heck are you?" Belldandy asked. She looked out the
window to
see Banpei-kun roll past on patrol duty. Belldandy walked out side and waited
for Banpei-kun to
roll by again.
"Banpei-kun! Run program 3!" Belldandy yelled as soon as Banpei-kun was in
sight.
A small hatch opened on Banpei's hat, a small laser device popped up and
aimed at
Belldandy. Banpei-kun beeped and fired.
"OH HECK!" Belldandy exclaimed as she ducked and ran behind a tree. "That
wasn't it."
She thought.
"Banpei-kun! Run program 7!" Belldandy yelled ducking another laser shot.
Banpei-kun beeped and retracted it's laser.
"Program -7 obey and follow Belldandy" Banpei-kun's audio circuits
announced. Banpei-
kun then rolled over to Belldandy and waited for it's next command.
Belldandy walked into the house and into the bathroom, Banpei-kun followed
her. She
reached down and picked up Banpei-kun.
"Oof. How much do you weigh?" Belldandy asked as she activated the bathroom
mirror.
"24 pounds 8 ounces." Banpei-kun replied.
Belldandy stepped through the mirror and out into the hospital room with
Skuld's stuff.
In the room...
Belldandy set Skuld's stuff on a table and brought the hammer over to Skuld.
She put it
on the bed and placed Skuld's hand on the handle and wrapped her fingers
around it.
"Skuld? I brought you your stuff. Please wake up soon." Belldandy said to
Skuld.
"Why did you bring Banpei-kun?" Urd asked.
"I thought it might be a welcome sight when she wakes up." Belldandy
replied.
Elsewhere...
Skuld sat on the ground absolutely bored. She looked at the ground hoping it
would be of
some help soon. She sighed and tucked her hammer in her belt. She then
reached back and
grabbed it.
"Wait a second... I didn't have this before!" Skuld exclaimed.
She examined the hammer to make sure it was the real one. She looked around
the
head of the hammer and saw her name engraved there on the handle. She smiled
and held it
close to her.
"If this is here then Banpei-kun should be here as well." Skuld said looking
around.
Nope. Banpei-kun was nowhere in sight. Skuld shrugged and tucked her hammer
in her
belt. She then had an idea.
"No one knows this yet but I can communicate with Banpei-kun with that new
earring
piece I made." Skuld thought. She closed her eyes and sent a message to
Banpei-kun.
In the room...
Banpei-kun beeped and overrode program 7. It beeped and got closer to the
bed.
"Hey! I told you to stay there!" Belldandy exclaimed as Banpei-kun rolled
across the
floor.
"Program 7 override. Program input override." Banpei-kun announced.
"By whose orders?" Belldandy asked annoyed that Banpei-kun is acting against
her
orders.
"Skuld Second Class Goddess, Surface World Trainee." Banpei-kun replied.
Belldandy, Urd, and Keiichi looked at each other surprised.
"Skuld? She didn't say anything!" Urd said confused.
Banpei-kun attempted to reach one of the bed rails to get itself higher.
However
someone walked in and Banpei-kun stopped it's effort.
"Ah! I see you brought some of her things with you." a doctor said walking
over to take a
look at Skuld.
"About the hammer. It's one of her favorite things. It's sort of like a
stuffed animal to
her." Keiichi said to the doctor.
The doctor looked at the hammer.
"Huh. And this thing on wheels?" the doctor asked.
"It's a programmable robot. It follows voice commands." Belldandy replied.
"Wow. I've never seen anything like it. Anyway I'm with the trauma
department and I just
came to look over... how do you pronounce her name?" the doctor asked.
"Skuld." Urd replied.
"Ah, Skuld." the doctor said and shined a light in Skuld's eyes. He then put
on his
stethoscope and listened to Skuld's breathing.
"Will she be all right?" Belldandy asked.
"It's hard to say. Didn't I see you four earlier today?" the doctor asked.
Belldandy nodded.
"Yes." Belldandy replied.
"Why were you here?" the doctor asked.
"The local schools sent out health notices." Keiichi replied.
"Ah, yes the booster shots bit. Did Skuld get one?" the doctor asked.
Belldandy nodded.
"Yes, she wasn't too pleased about it." Belldandy replied.
"Hmm, I wonder..." the doctor said rolling up Skuld's sleeve.
"What are you doing?" Urd asked.
The doctor removed the bandage and looked at Skuld's arm.
"A few people are allergic to some vaccines they get. And it looks like
Skuld isn't one of
them. Otherwise her arm would be burning hot and black and blue, or she'd be
dead right now."
the doctor said. "Then what caused this?" the doctor asked.
"We believe that she'll come around soon." Urd said wishing that the doctor
would just
get the heck out of the room.
"Yes, well I'll get another bandage." the doctor said leaving the room.
Banpei-kun continued to try to climb up the side of the bed.
"Must scan Skuld." Banpei-kun said failing miserably to get on the bed.
Keiichi picked up Banpei-kun and put it at the foot of the bed. Banpei-kun
beeped and
rolled forward on the bed. It beeped again and backed off.
"Well, what is it?" Belldandy asked.
Banpei-kun turned around and rolled off the bed landing on it's wheels.
"Skuld is fine. She informs me she is in the GPDS section of Yggdrasyl."
Banpei-kun
replied.
"That's a problem." Urd sighed.
"What's this about you three and Yggdrasyl and the GPDS thing?" Keiichi
asked.
Belldandy looked at Keiichi.
"Well, Yggdrasyl is our computer. And the Goddess Power Distribution System
is mis-
named. It's just our communications link with the computer." Belldandy said.
"Oh." Keiichi replied.
Elsewhere...
Skuld sat on the floor satisfied that Banpei-kun had done his job. She
looked again at the
status lights and saw that a few more had lit meaning she was coming around.
Then all hell
broke loose.
"Huh? Where am I?" Skuld asked surrounded by voices and sounds she knew and
didn't
know. "Why is it so dark?" Skuld asked.
She tried to move but couldn't, she tried to scream or something but for
some reason
she couldn't make a sound.
"OK! I'm scared!" Skuld thought not knowing what was happening. She heard
voices all
around her.
"What are you doing?". Belldandy's voice! "Belldandy is here!" Skuld
thought.
"I found something that might bring her around." a man's voice said. "Who
was that?"
Skuld asked herself.
Skuld felt a sharp pain in her arm and moaned unable to do anything else.
In the room...
The doctor removed the needle from Skuld's right upper arm and placed a
bandage on
her arm.
"I heard a moan!" Urd exclaimed.
Belldandy looked at her younger sister and hoped she would come to soon.
"She should be coming around in a few minutes. What I just gave her contains
something like caffeine that is used to wake up sedated patients." the doctor
said. "Heck only
needed one bandage too." the doctor joked.
"Ha ha. Not funny." Urd groaned.
After a few minutes of waiting Skuld started to come out of her coma. She
yawned and
turned her head to the right as if she were trying to return to sleep.
"Skuld?" Belldandy asked.
"Ice-cream." Skuld mumbled as she opened her eyes. She blinked and sat
upright.
"Where am I?" Skuld asked. She looked down at her left arm. "AHHH! GET IT
OUT!!" Skuld
screamed.
The doctor took the IV out of Skuld's arm, knocked over the stand, tripped
over Banpei-
kun and fell flat on his face on the floor. He stood up and gave Skuld
another bandage.
"You didn't see that, right?" the doctor asked.
"Welcome back." Urd said smiling and ruffling Skuld's hair.
"Hey! Don't do that!" Skuld said slapping Urd's hand away.
"So how do you feel?" the doctor asked Skuld.
"Just a tad weak but otherwise I'm fine. And I want to go home." Skuld
replied.
The doctor whispered something to Keiichi.
"Tell her not me." Keiichi said.
"Uh, we'd like to have you stay overnight just for observation." the doctor
said to Skuld.
Skuld sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
"Fine." Skuld replied.
"Don't look so grumpy. There will be no more shots. I promise." the doctor
said to Skuld.
Skuld sensed truth in his promise.
"Deal." Skuld replied cheering up a bit. "What's for lunch? I'm starved."
Skuld added.
Belldandy laughed.
"Skuld! You missed lunch. It's almost dinner time." Belldandy said.
"Then when is dinner?" Skuld asked confused.
The doctor opened a drawer next to the bed and handed Skuld a menu of what
was for
dinner. Skuld took the menu and looked at what was on it.
"See anything?" the doctor asked.
Skuld nodded and set down the menu.
"Yeah. I'll have the spaghetti and some ice cream for dessert." Skuld
replied. "No way
I'm having baked beans. Yech!" Skuld thought.
The doctor wrote the order on a pad of paper and walked out the door.
"If I remember correctly the food here is pretty good." Keiichi said to
Skuld.
"What? You were in a place like this?" Belldandy asked.
"I had a severe case of amnesia then." Keiichi replied.
Belldandy blushed and giggled.
"Gee. I wonder why?" Belldandy joked.
"If I remember The Lord was not very amused with you then." Urd said.
Skuld poked Urd in the ribs.
"He wasn't to pleased with you crashing the Ultimate Force system either."
Skuld said. "I
spent the better bit of two months fixing it." Skuld added.
"Well, we'll stay here for as long as we can." Belldandy said sitting in a
chair.
Skuld smiled and looked around the room. Her bed was by the window offering
a view of
the park. There was an empty bed by the door and two TV sets at the foot of
the beds. There is a
closet and drawers for clothing and stuff. By the door there is a door
leading to the bathroom. By
the heater there is a wheelchair in the corner.
"Now that looks like fun!" Skuld said looking at the wheelchair.
Keiichi looked at his watch.
"Wow. 7:00PM already. Oh well." Keiichi said.
"Time flies when you're worried about someone." Urd said ruffling Skuld's
hair again.
"Do that once more and you'll have a force bolt up your nose." Skuld
grumbled.
"Oh, I got my license back." Urd replied.
Skuld grimaced and looked at Belldandy.
"That's what I thought too." Belldandy laughed.
The doctor walked in and stood by the bed.
"I have an idea. Why don't I treat all of you at the cafeteria downstairs?"
the doctor
asked.
"You don't have to do that." Keiichi kindly replied.
"I insist." the doctor replied.
"What about Skuld?" Belldandy asked.
The doctor smiled and walked over to the wheelchair and brought it to the
bed.
"Hop in, kid." the doctor said to Skuld.
