How to start grow bonsais?
To buy ready bonsais
Of course the easiest way is to buy a ready bonsai.
Becouse grow bonsais takes long time and alot of work
ready bonsais are often very expensive.
The ready bonsais that they are selling in flower stores
are very often (almost always) produced in hundreds and
rarely has any beauty marks. They often have damages on the
trunk left from wires and stuff.
If you should buy a plant you should buy a cheat and young
plant. Then if you fail whit something on your bonsai you
haven't lost so mutch money. It takes time and practise
to be a good bonsai-grower.
Tip! Keep your eyes open, you might find a plant that could be
a nice bonsai.
To grow trees from nature (Yama-dori)
From the begining the Japanese and Chinese diged up small trees
in nature and poted them. This is probebly the best way to find
a good bonsai if you don't buy one. After a couple of years
they can be very beautiful bonsais.
To grow bonsais from seeds (Misho)
Bonsai isn't just the name of the trees it's also the creation
of them. If you just have patience there is nothing that can
meet up with a bonsai that you have made all by your self from
it was just a little seed.
Outdoor bonsais can take a couple years longer to grow then
indoor bonsais.
The best seeds you can make an bonsai of is the seedplants under
trees in the wild nature but growing from seeds you buy in stores
isn't to bad.
To grow bonsais from cuttings (Sashiki)
To multiply trees with cuttings is a good way witch needs
less patience than the "Misho" method. Potplant cuttings
are easier to multiply than ordinary trees. The cuttings should
be at about 2-6 inches (5-15 cm) long and they should also be
taken from shoots or branches.
You cut the cutting right beneath a leaf then remove the leaves
on the part that will be put in the soil. After this you water
the plant a lot. Then the pot is covered with a plastic bag.
When the cutting is starting to grow you cut lttle holes in
the bag. After a week you remove the bag.
