Favourite Anime\ Manga Series
Ranma
1/2: Well This is what got me into this insane interest. It's an unique
series and one of the more entertaining series for most people. I have
course gone on to a lot more than a normal Ranma fan would like. From this
series I know that Love Triangles aren't always a three-way relation, and
the best way to resolve these triangles is through VIOLENCE. Well if the
world was like that, it would be perfect, after all you've got your cast
of an Aqua Transexual, a Directionally Impaired Boy who turns into a Black
Pig, a Cute Tomboy who is absolutely pathetic at almost everything, a Psychotic
Girl who trains in Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics, and many other characters.
Dragon
Ball (Z/GT): Dragon Ball is definately one of the coolest series, the
destructive almost sensless fighting and the ATTITUDE is what got me into
this series. This is the series where you need BIG HAIR to support
a BIG EGO, this series kicks ass. When fights go on in this series
not only do the combatants get thrashed but so does the entire area around
them. Face it Gokuu is the greatest fighter of all, if you think your guys
from Street Fighter and the like are even a match for him, you are seriously
wrong. Gokuu is like the God of Martial Artists. And the other characters
like Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Piccolo, Goten and Pan can also kick some Street
Fighter's ass. Dragon Ball Kick Ass, you hear that, KAAA-MEEEE HAAAA-MEEEE
HAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Gundam:
The best out all the various mecha series. Gundam completely set out a
standard, for all the mecha anime that followed it. Rather than being something
silly to sell toys like many series in the 70's Gundam was more serious
story. In it the was the first idea that Giant Robots should be controlled
by actual human pilots, and are used like fighter planes, something used
for militiary hardware. Over the years there has many great series (and
a few bad ones though), well out of the most of the good ones are war dramas,
as Gundam has developed a trademark for killing a lot of its main characters.
The Jions are always one of the coolest of all dukedoms to appear in anime.
And Gundam Wing is one of the coolest, as you got your group of five psychos
armed with some of the most impressive mecha ever.
Yuu
Yuu Hakusho: This is one of the best series to come to come out of
Shounen Jump, its about a boy who finds him involved in a strange destiny
after getting hit by a car and killed. Then he he finds himself involved
after returning from the dead, with Kurama and Hiei, and his formal rival
Kuwabara, as they investigate and fight various threats from the demon
world, by using various martial arts skills, and various unique powers.
The series contains a lot of characterization, along with all the fighting,.
The guys are cool and the girls are cute! that's which makes this series
so great.
Rurouni
Kenshin: Though this series is new to me it has quickly developed into
one of my favourite series. It is about a former assassin, who has gave
up his years of killing, and has become a Ronin during the Meiji Era. But
giving up killing is very hard for Kenshin, when there happens to be a
corrupt goverment, and various terrorists and assassins around. This series
kind of does have the feel of some fighting games like Samurai Spirits
(Showdown) which is part of the appeal of this series.
Sailor
Moon: The infamous Sailor Moon, the queen of a magical girls. About
the chronicals of the Sailor Senshi the defenders and warriors of the ancient
Silver Millenium. Most attempts to copy this series has ended up miserably
pathetic. This is humourous series, with a little dramatic and emotional
parts in this series, but one main thing with this series is the CUTE GIRLS.
Well actually Usagi my least favourite character, Rei-chan is my favourite,
Haruka-chan is really kakkoii, and Hotaru-chan is kawaii but has dark dual-nature.
X: A series
by CLAMP about a boy named Kamui who is involved in the fate of the world.
When the 7 Seals and the 7 Minions fight each other to decide whether the
world stands or not, Kamui must pick sides. The ones behind the two groups,
Kanoe and Hinoto who are both interested in Kamui. Entropic, with beautiful
art along with some graphic scenes, this is a great series with many different
characers, each entertaining in a certain way. My faourite characters are
Kamui, Subaru, Yuuto, Kanoe, Arashi and Satsuki so far.
Tenchi
Muyou: Well this is a twisted and insane series, with cute girls in
it. When Tenchi unleashes a demon out of curiosity, his life suddenly turns
upside down as he gets involved with affairs with various aliens. Now Tenchi
is something fought over between a bunch of girls, mainly Ryouko and Aeka.
Various interesting characters out of the series, my favourite out of the
whole gang is Ryouko and Kiyone.
Rayearth:
Another series from CLAMP about three girls who have never met before suddenly
find themselves thrust into the world of Cephiro, where they must become
the Magic Knights to save it. But all is not what it really seems to be
actually. With great story and art, this series is like a combination of
magical girls combined with some RPG stuff. In my opinion Rayearth is the
best "magical girls" story so far.
Evangelion:
Gainax's most successful TV series, which concentrates mainly on the
characters. When mysterious invaders known as angels attack humankind,
almost being indestructable. But a project from NERV a branch of the UN
has a way to stop all the angels, using giant mecha known as Evangelions.
The young pilots for these mecha though have to face problems with life
and their commitent to the project. An excellent series which is one of
the best recent TV series.
Slayers:
Another RPG type series, about spontaneous uncontrollably destructive but
cute socerress by the name of Lina Inverse. Accompanied by her friends,
the bunch goes around causing general havoc, and usually creating more
harm than good, as they go across the countryside robbing people and nuking
entire cities, and only doing good deeds for a price.
