What is Anime???

The "easy answer" is that anime is animation from Japan-- you may be familiar with Robotech, which was imported to the US a few years ago, or the current TV show, Sailor Moon. These are both examples of anime, and show how many different genres fall under this category (Robotech is "mecha," or big robots and guns, and Sailor Moon is "shoujo," or girl's anime-- specifically, magic-girl, in this case).
