Policy
 
In the 1995 general elections, the DAP campaigned on the theme of Full Liberalisation and Ten Democratisation, which continues to be the DAP platform to bring about political, socio-economic and cultural changes so that Malaysians of all races can be an united, cohesive, dynamic and purposeful people to build a world-class nation in the 21st century. 

In December 1996, the 30th DAP Anniversary National Conference at Pantai Kundor, Malacca, adopted the Policy Declaration, "Malaysia To A New Era". 

In August 1998, the 12th DAP National Congress declared the creation of a 'New DAP' for a 'New Malaysia' through a  national movement for Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Good Governance.
