In case you suddenly have the urge to return to DBIS. Here is a 1995 picture of the pier where you and I used to board the ferry to get to Discovery Bay. If you have any memory of what Hong Kong looked like back in the late-1980's, you'll realize that the pier has been transformed. The "L" shaped pier has been reclaimed and land-filled. The airport railway station and other large plazas and bus terminal has been placed on top of what used to be the body of water between the pier and the shore. The ferries to other outlying islands have been moved to this pier, and the Discovery Bay ferries have been moved to the eastern docks of the Star Ferry Pier. So, NOW YOU KNOW!
