Fanfic of the Week storage

What used to be the great 'Fanfics of the Week' is now merely the storage area for the stories handled there. Browse through them, if you're interested; new stuff is not going to appear. Probably.

These files are either local text files, or g-zipped material from the r.a.a.c archives. (The year was 1997.)

Week 52.

Out of Balance, Part 1 by Philip Yff

The Knight Sabers are going to work for their former enemy, and they all do not like it. 'Out of Balance' describes events from too rarely used point of view, namely Linna's. Don't be scared away because of that 'Part 1' thing, this brilliantly written story stands quite well on its own. Part 2 is (going to be) just as great.

Week 49.

Wasuremono by Ed Sharpe

A Tenchific for a change. As the author states, a 'what if' sort of story about Ayeka. This is NOT a happyfic. Be warned.

Week 41.

Roses of Shadow by Richard Lawson.

Simply the best Kodachi fic there is.

Week 40.

A Certain Point Of View by Charles S. Stitman.

Wandering slightly in the same paths as Bubblegum Zone, this fic also moves a youngster from today's US to future Mega-Tokyo. (What? An otakufic? Well, who cares? I like 'em!) This one is actually not from r.a.a.c, but from alt.fan.bgcrisis.

Week 39.

Shampoo's Quest by John Walter Biles.

Those of you who are old enough to remember what it was like when the good games had very little or no graphics and an unintelligent parser, here is a treat for you. A Ranma 1/2 story written in Zork.

Hot by Joseph Palmer.

A Palmer story to the nth power.

(Now there's a gap if ever! Gomen yo.)

Week 34.

Red Tower, Black Tower, Grey Slabs by Luca Signorelli.

Now I wish I had a way with words, as I really can not properly describe this... um, scenes of mind... Ukyou's and Ryoga's somber exploration of K2 and themselves...

Just read it, ok?

Week 33.

I Am One by Sean Gaffney.

Shasti returns! Kei and Yuri are not overjoyed!

Week 32.

Kasumi And Spice And Everything Nice by Anand Rao

As usual, Shampoo is trying to capture Ranma's heart by a new kind of passion spice, but it accidentally gets to Kasumi's food...

Procrastination by Jeremy Parish

A day of life in Nerima, as seen by Akane's friend Yuka. (The link above is to the author's homepage, where also an illustrated version of the story can be found.)

Weeks 29-31.

Bubblegum Zone by Bert Van Vliet

As it was time for summer vacation, a big fic to last for a while. This is, IMHO, the best fanfic there is, despite (or because) being a self-insertion fic. Follows loosely the BGC story arc while adding some quite interesting pieces to it. Funny, exiting, action-filled, sad... you name it.

As this fic is quite large, the link is to the author's page where you can find (in addition to the story itself) some additional info about the show.

Week 28.

Face to Face by Deunan

A 'behind the scenes' shortfic from BGC.

Week 27.

Starlight by Cbear
On the Laundry Porch by Cbear

Two soft stories telling the same story from different points of view. Literally.

Week 26.

Bubblegum Dogs by Andy 'Payndz' McDermott (CLASSIC!)

A real treat for the fans of BGC and Reservoir Dogs. This crossover between them is definitely in the top five of funniest BGC-fics ever.

Week 25.

For Love or Money by Donny Cheng

Basically a redo of the Ranma/Nabiki story from manga vol 17, but with a new twist.

Week 24.

Lovely Angels Forever by Ryan Mathews (CLASSIC!)

Oi oi, a rather dark one this is. Very cyberpunkish: people are shoving metal to their heads like there was no tomorrow; cloning technology allows a new set of the Lovely Angels to be crafted after the previous pair has been killed in a mission... again and again. But are they really identical clones?

Week 23.

'Til I Wake Your Ghost by LaShawn M. Taylor

A Ranma 1/2 story, in which we see Ukyou not pining after Ranma even though (or because) he married Akane. But what has happened to the married couple? The story cannot be described excactly as 'dark' but it is not much of a happyfic either.

Crossover Blues by INN P-chan (CLASSIC!)

The BGC fanfic with most references to other anime series. If the Ranma story left You feeling a bit blue (it shouldn't really, though) this will cheer You up, up and awayy. Definitely on the Top Three in BGC funny-fics.
