KELANTAN
Kelantan state is my favorite in Malaysia so far. It's where Malay traditions are strongest. The people are not yet caught in the mad rush to "development" that is occurring in the West Coast. Probably the arrival point for original Malays to the peninsula but later history tied to Southern Thai Sultanates. It resisted English colonization and still tries to maintain its autonomy within federation. Only state with opposition party in power. It has abundant forests and a nice coast.
