![]() |
The OOMOTO religion worships the {Grande Deus do Princípio Criador}
(Oomoto Sume-Oomikami). God is one and the source of all religions:
don't matter the name given to Him - Jeovah, Alah, Deus or Lord.
According to OOMOTO's teachings, God is Unlimited Love
and is always together with us, managing to protect us.
But to get always the divine protection, we need to keep
permanent communion with Him on every moment of our lives. Many religions still talk about "divine punishment". But God, being Pure Love, don't punish. The sufferings, dificulties and accidents that happens in our lives are caused by ourselves. They are consequences of acts done in this life or in previous incarnations. Lets remember that the word religion comes from latin's re-ligare, that means reconnect man with God. People with spiritual sensibility can percieve the hudge power existing on religious rites celebrated with true faith, since in these rites human beings turn its vibrations to God, thus recieving the powerful Divine Energy. Not only in the rites, but also on daily prayers we takw communion with Him, through faith. On OOMOTO the most important religious rite is the Setsubunsai, celebrated every year on February 3rd at night, in the great temple named Miroku-Den in Ayabe, Japan. This rite is celebrated by 300 priests and thousands of followers. It starts at 8:00 pm and lasts about four hours. |

It is made up of a small tissue paper with a stylized human figure, where it's written the person's name, age and address. Through Hitogata we ask God to protect us, avoiding accidents, illness and other problems. And God grant us because is Imense Love, eliminating minor harms and minimizing problems and dificulties that would be big. One can also ask protection to residences, cars, commercial sites, etc. This is done with the Katashiro (figure on the left with the divine symbol) that may be set inside the house, in the car or any other place to be protected. On the case of vehicles, for instance, we note down the kind and number plate. The many Hitogata, read one by one during the rite on the Miroku-Den temple, are put into pottery urns, and at the end of the great service the priests walk to the Watigawa sacred river under torches' light, and from the top of a bridge throw the tissue papers on the water. This act simbolyzes the cleaning of the impurities. It's important to remember that both Hitogata and Katashiro may be substituted every year since they correspond to a rite celebrated in Japan when the name of the person is read. |
