Spaceport -- Star River @ SM(#231RJ)

Encased within a protective bubble of nearly tangible light is the docking bay for the Silver Millennium; ships of all makes and styles congregate here, waiting for cargo or passengers to ferry away to their respective planets. A flurrying buzz of languages is prevalent in the dull roar of noise here; clipped Jovian, broad Mercurian, blunted Martian and quick Venusian all mingles with the more recognizable Lunarian and Elysian dialects.

Prince Endymion is sitting on the edge of one of the smaller ships here, looking up at the sky, a troubled look on his face.

Serenity

A tangled mess of dusty straw-colored hair adorns her head, the snarls and snags making it hard to perceive its exact length. Dirt appears smudged randomly over the surface of her skin -- her cheeks, her hands, obscuring the creamy pale coloring and smoothness that could never belong to someone of such low rank. Her eyes, when one can persuade her to show them for more than a moment or two, are never opened fully and constantly try to look away from searching gazes, though they do seem to be of unusually beautiful dark blue. She is not overly tall; in fact, she seems a bit on the short side, and skinny at that, uninspiring at first glance.
Her clothing is simple, worn, not uncommon attire for a poor peasant girl. An ankle-length skirt, patched with scraps of nearly matching color, is frayed at the hem, and shows signs that it will need to be mended again all too soon. An oversized tunic, perhaps a cast-off from some more wealthy soul, hangs around her shoulders. Where it might once have been white, it is now yellowed with age, in only slightly better shape than the skirt. Still, if one were to look closely enough, under the dirt and grime and ill-fitting rags, a person of true beauty and proud regality can be seen.

A tiny blonde girl with a large shawl wrapped around her slooowly walks in from the city. She spots the dark-haired lad and walks purposefully in his direction. "...I don't mean to be a bother, sir, but.." She begins, speaking softly, timidly, whilst staring down at her bare feet.

Prince Endymion doesn't recognize the little blonde girl initially, he's thinking about another little blonde girl right now. Luckily, he isn't one of those snotty noble types, so he just says, kind of distractedly, "No bother, what can I do for you, miss?" He still isn't /really/ paying attention, staring off into the sky.

The girl giggles, lightly.. Which /may/ sound oddly familiar to the.. err... Sailor. "Only grant me a moment in your presence, sir.. It's rare that I keep company with Princes." She glances up, winking a blue eye, now, before announcing, quietly and confidentially enough, "..I tricked even /you/..." Giggle.

Prince Endymion blinks, at the giggle, it /does/ sound awfully familiar, and shifts his attention fully to the little rag-girl. Blinking again, and sputtering, "P--prince?" Jumping down to the ground, and peering at you for a moment, he blinks, not quite believing it for a moment. Grinning then, he leans in to whisper conspiratorily, "My, that's a /very/ good disguise, but... why? Are you not allowed to see my now, now that that man knows?" He frowns, at the thought of /him/.

Serenity giggles more, before helping herself to a seat beside you. "Is it? I am awfully proud of it, myself..." She turns to smile at you, shaking her head, slowly. "No, though he /has/ made it clear that I oughtn't see you.. ever.." she sighs heavily, frowning, at that. "...I'm not allowed to leave the palace without an escort of some sort, and... I wanted to see you alone..." She smiles yet again.

Prince Endymion laughs, looking over your disguise again, "You should be, it took me a moment, even after I was paying attention." He winks, "But I'll always recognize my love, no matter how hard she tries to hide." Well, he had to cover up the fact that he didn't recognize her somehow, right? He frowns then, as talk returns to /that/ man, "We had a.. discussion, after you ran off. He told me, basically, to leave here and never come back." He grins then, "But I won't, no matter what he says, don't you worry." Grinning even more that you wanted to see him, he does the innocent guy thing, "Oh? And why did you want to see me.. alone?"

"I should hope so!" The.. err... Girl exclaims, giggling again. "If not, I would have to wonder if Artemis were right about you..." She smirks, amusedly, though, proof that she /is/ only teasing. She blinks with sincere surprise, then, frowning. "Discussion? ..He.. He did?" She blinks more, before scowling rather angrily. "Don't worry about /anything/ he says to you... I won't let anyone keep me from you.. Or you from me." She smiles sweetly, then, before giving another giggle. "Because, if I didn't see you alone, we wouldn't be able to speak with such... such /wonderful/ informality." She winks.

Prince Endymion starts to blurt out reassurances that Artemis isn't right about him, but he stops at that smirk, laughing along. He scowls too then, asking, "Just who /is/ he, anyway? I've never really been able to ask, since the first time I met him, he hauled you away from Earth." He look rather angry at that memory, but he smiles then, not wanting to get caught up in bad memories, he'd rather enjoy his... informal, time with you. Chuckling, he nods, noting, "Yeah, informality /is/ rather nice, isn't it?" He laughs, "It's ironic, isn't it, us just sitting here, looking to all the world like any /normal/ couple. I like the thought of it, no worries, no responsibilities. It's... nice."

Serenity sighs, heavily, at the question of the white-haired-man.. "He is my mother's advisor.. And was, at one time, my friend..." Yet another sigh. "I don't know why he's changed so much.. He wasn't always like he is now.. So... So..." What's the word... "...Hard-headed." She smiles again, though, at your last comments, moving to lean against your shoulder. "It is... I wish it could always be like this.." Sigh.

Prince Endymion puts his arm around you when you lean against him, nodding in agreement, "/Very/ hard headed, I wish.." He sighs, not completing that thought, "Well, I wish, but it isn't going to happen anyway." Sighing again, he dares to wonder, "I wonder if I'll /ever/ get the rest of them to accept me, without knowing the truth." Not wanting to spoil the moment any further, he pulls you a little closer, "I wish it could to... it's just so much... easier."

"It's not /everyone/, you know..." Serenity points out.. "...Some people really do like you." She assures, grinning up at you. "I wonder..." She begins, thoughtfully, "If anyone back on Earth disapproves of /me/?" She sighs, then, noting, "It can't always be like this, though... And.. And I don't /always/ want it to be.. I want to be Queen.. I want to be a good leader." She smiles, at that.

Prince Endymion shrugs, "I suppose not, it sure feels like it though... sometimes." Blinking at that, he shakes his head, "Not anyone I talked to, then again, I /still/ don't really know the court all that well. It's so hard talking to them, and trying to be... my brother, that I avoid them, often." He sighs as well, thinking about for a second, then saying, "I didn't even know I /was/ a Prince, I mean... I knew I was learning all that stuff for some reason, but I never imagined." He shrugs then, "I suppose though, now that I am the Prince, that I want to be a good leader as well." He frowns though, suddenly, "But I do /not/ want to be my brother, it drives me crazy... sometimes."

Serenity smiles, gently, at that. "Don't worry about what anyone else thinks of you.. you know that /I/ only keep you in the best regards." She winks, before her smile softens as she notes, "You should not feel so angry, regarding your brother... He wasn't a bad person.. Foolish, and... maybe a bit irresponsible.. But he wasn't a bad person.. And you certainly aren't, either... No matter /what/ Artemis or anyone else may say."

Prince Endymion grins, bending down to kiss the top of your head, "I know, and that's what is most important to me." Frowning a little then, he responds, "I never met my brother... but, what he did..." Not wanting to start down that road though, he smiles and laughs lightly, noting, "But hey, he was my brother, right? I'm sure he couldn't have been all /that/ bad, especially if you saw something in him."

Serenity nods slowly in agreement. "I saw something in him.. And I was even fairly sure that I loved him.. And then when he returned, and ended up being.. well, you... I knew he had /really/ changed... And that what I felt before was nothing, compared to how I felt..../feel/, about you." She smiles, brightly.

Prince Endymion smiles down at you, brightly, and admits, "When I first came here... and met you, I--I first just kind of went along with things... just playing the game, I suppose. I didn't want to love you... just because my brother did, it just didn't seem right to me." Beaming, and squeezing your shoulder softly, he continues, "But one I got to know you.. I.. well, it was hard to /not/ fall in love with you... considering how much of a sweet, charming woman you are." He laughs then, winking, "Or should I say.. such a sweet, charming rag-girl?"

Serenity blushes furiously, at that. "You're far too kind to me, Endymion... You flatter me so." She notes, before her expression takes an amused twist, and she gives a wink. AFter a moment, though, she sighs, announcing bitterly, "It won't always be like this, though.. It can't be." Siiiigh. "You'll have to leave eventually, and I won't be able to leave with you." Moooope.

Prince Endymion pulls you into a hug, not really caring who is looking, it's just a sailor and some rag-girl, right? Sighing a little too, he /does/ smile, at least, "I know... and I have to leave soon, unfortuneatly, much longer and it could be problematic. But don't worry, I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise." He ruffles your hair, messing it up some more, "It will be difficult, to stay away for long, the palace seems empty without you there."

Serenity smiles, gently. "I will miss you..." She says, giggling, suddenly, at the hair-ruffling. She blinks in surprise, suddenly, before pulling away a bit, and reaching for something 'round her neck. She pulls it off, and hands it to you. A simple black cord, with a well-polished piece of moon-stone hanging off the end. "I bought it for you, on my way over... The merchant gave me odd looks... Probably because he didn't think a rag-girl should be carrying so much money." She winks.

Prince Endymion takes the necklace carefully.. holding it up and looking at the stone for a moment, then sliding it around his neck, "Serenity.. it's..." Hugging you tightly again, and his eyes even getting a little misty, he says, "..thank you, I shall wear it always, and think about you all the time when I am back on Earth." Beaming then, he promises, "But I will make it back here soon, I can't bear the thought of being away from you... for very long."

Serenity smiles, nodding slowly. "It pleases me to hear that." She winks, at that, before announcing, "I'll find a way to you, somehow.. Messages, at least.. And I'll count the days 'till you return again." She smiles.

Luna has arrived.

Prince Endymion laughs, promising, "I will be counting the days as well. But don't worry, once I find another captain who I can... persuade to take me on his crew... I will be back here as quick as I am able."

Serenity is settled beside Endymion.. Err.. Is that Endymion? May well me a Sailor. She's dressed in rags, her feet are bair, her straw-colored hair mussed, and looks.. dirty. Still, there's something about those bright blue eyes. "I can't wait." She says to the....Sailor, smiling brightly. "Let's hope that day will come soon..."

Luna slips in fairly unobtrusively. She opens her mouth, about to say something to Serenity, then closes it again. Let's just see what is happening here.

Prince Endymion err.. the Sailor, smiles back at Serenity.. err.. the rag-girl, noting, "It will come soon.. I promise. I'll be impatient, in the palace, and it shouldn't be hard to find another captain who is... persuadable." He winks.

Serenity chuckles, lightly. "I think I'll be able to survive a week, at least.. But a day or so after that, and I'll be /sending/ for you." She notes, winking.

Luna mmms? Loud enough to be heard. "Why's that princess?"

Serenity blinks in surprise, head snapping around to see... "L...Luna! How did you.. I mean..." Buhblink.

Prince Endymion laughs, "Well, I'll make sure you don't have to, I swear." Blinking up at the new voice then, oh no, it's that nosy woman again. He nods his head in gretting, then blinks, when he realizes she knows Serenity, and recognized her. Uh oh.

Luna wanders over, "Really, Princess, this is not the sort of company that befits your station." To the prince "I thought you said you were only here a week?" her eyebrow raises just slightly.

Prince Endymion frowns, mumbling something about the ship being kept longer or something like that. .oO( Great, /more/ people who don't think Serenity and I should be together. And that day was so nice, too. )

Serenity frowns at Luna. "How did you /find/ me.. How did you /recognize/ me?" She sighs, heavily. "Please, Luna, just... Just leave me this last moment, at least..."

Luna smiles charmingly "Prince Endymion, if you are going to insist on concealing your identity, don't make the mistake of thinking the princess' advisor is stupid."

Prince Endymion sighs, shrugging, "I don't seem to have fooled anyone, as of yet." .oO( Things had better be going better on the other end, or their will be trouble. )

Serenity sighs, heavily. "I'd thought mine was a much better disguise..."

Luna looks from one to the other. "Do I look stupid? I don't suppose you've talked to your mother yet, princess?"

Prince Endymion smiles suddenly, whispering to Serenity, "Well.. I thought your disguise was wonderful." To Luna then, he just frowns.

Serenity sighs, shaking her head at Luna. "No, I haven't... And.. And why do you and Artemis have to continue butting into my business.. And following me around." Frown. "You can advise /after/ I returns home..." Sigh. She glances at Endymion, blushing slightly. "Thank you.."

Luna folds her arms. "I don't know, maybe we take our jobs seriously or something."

Prince Endymion snorts, glowering at Luna, making his opinion of Serenity's... advisors plain. Considering how he's been treated by them, it's hardly a surprise.

Luna points out "We left Earth because you wanted to run off with him. Now he's here, and you're meeting him in secret? If your mother was happy with it, would you need a disguise? If not, then you'd meet in public, wouldn't you? If he wants to visit, he could at least, give your mother the credit of making his visit public, and not insult her by acting like she isn't worth a visit. Royal visitors can be put up in the palace.

Serenity scowls. "I wore a disguise so I could say goodbye to Endymion un-escorted... But it appears I really /can't/ ever be alone..." Mope. "And, he couldn't leave because the Emperors hadn't given him permission, and... And just go /home/ Luna..." Scowl.

Prince Endymion nods, noting, "And much as I would love to make an official visit here, considering the opinion of the Queens... advisors," Spitting out that word as an insult. "I don't imagine I would even be allowed. Thus, the disguise. You can dissaprove of me, but I love Serenity, and I won't let you keep me away from her. Ever." He states, with finality.

Luna eyes them both. "Can you blame us for not looking upon your attentions to our princess favorably? She may have forgotten that the last Princess Venus went home pregnant and in disgrace because of your actions, and attacked the queen's advisor, but I have not. She is /mine/ to advise, and until you prove to me that you are worthy to caught her, I shall not approve of it. Give me one reason why I should?"
Luna points out "All you have to accuse /me/ of is the fact I have not agreed with you, and I have chosen to judge you by your past actions. And I get this hostility from you, yet you expect better treatment from me?

Holly arrives from the Moon's pillar of light.
Holly has arrived.

Serenity ...err.. The small little blonde rag-girl is settled beside a rather ragged looking sailor, and arguing with a pretty dark-haired woman. She scowls at the latter, "You're just as bad as /him/.." Not meaning the.. Sailor, of course. "You are being completely and totally unreasonably, and you /need/ to put the past behind you." Scowl.

Luna folds her arms. "Why exactly?"

Holly looks over curiously. . o O (Now there's a sight you don't see everyday.. at least.. I've never seen one..)

Prince Endymion ..err.. that Sailor guy, is quick to point out to Luna, "And I've had plenty of hostility from Serenity's /other/ advisor, and the both of you, instead of judging me for who I am /now/, you insist on harping on the past. I understand what.... I did, was wrong, but can't you at least /try/ to see me for the person I am now?"

Luna hms. "And why exactly have you changed so radically?"

Prince Endymion isn't about to explain /that/ fully.. especially in such a public setting. So he tries something else, quirking an eyebrow, "Are you telling me you haven't observed /any/ changes in me, at all?"

Serenity sighs heavily at the other two, before her blue eyes fall on the new-entrant. Err.. She blushes furiously, and is quick to glance away from her. "He /is/ different..." She tells Luna, softly, "Whether or not you can see it..."

Luna points out "If the forces of darkness came up to me and said 'oh we destroyed your planet and all your people, but now we're sorry' would you expect me to believe them? And I fail to see how I can notice differences in someone who hides from me."

Holly looks at the three, puzzled. She settles down a short distance away, and opens a small book she had.

Prince Endymion frowns, noticing the newcomer as well, and lowering his voice, pointing out again, "I /had/ to travel here in secret, if anyone on Earth found out I was here, well, there would be trouble."

Serenity sighs, heavily. "He hardly destroyed a planet.. Or any people. You're being terribly unreasonable." Frown.

Luna frowns at Endymion, lowering her voice too. "Come back when you don't have to hide, and I will make my own observances."
Luna hms. "For now, princess, you haven't forgotten the State dinner, have you?" and that's a hint.

Prince Endymion shrugs, "That is easier said then done. Perhaps I will try though, if it gives me an honest hearing?"

Luna hms. "It'll be the most honest hearing you're likely to get, certainly better than sneaking around."

Serenity frowns at Luna, and leans over, giving Endymion a gently kiss on the cheek. "Goodbye... I promise I'll see you soon." She smiles at him, before rising to her feet, standing beside Luna. "Fine, you can drag me home now, Luna." Hmph.

Luna just shrugs at her princess. "I don't expect you realise how much this means I..we care about you." To Endymion. "Have a safe journey, next time I see you, I presume it will be as the Queen's guest?" an eyebrow raises.

Prince Endymion smiles back at Serenity, winking, "I will count the hours." Luna gets a nod, nothing more. Well, at least he'll think about her offer, probably.
