Princess's Room -- Moon Palace @ SM(#59R)
Obvious exits:
Lunarian time: Saturday, Month of Mercury, 26 20:06:15 - Gold-14 (Night)
Artemis has arrived.
Luna has arrived.
Serenity is settled on the large canopy bed, unaware of the fact that she left her door open a crack.
Walking slowly, Artemis enters, his eyes still pale green from his exertions. He sighs softly as he steps in. "Serenity, you can't keep running away. He need to talk with your mother sometime."
Serenity blinks, at that, turning to frown at Artemis. "I'm not running away. I'm only trying to be alone for two damn minutes." Waho... Nice language. With that, she rises from her bed and heads toward the Balcony.
Luna has disconnected.
You step out onto the balcony.
Balcony -- Moon Palace @ SM(#71R)
Obvious exits:
Artemis steps out of the princess's room.
It really gets old chasing after this girl. Of course, now she has no place to go. It's a while before Artemis blocks the way back in, but eventually he's there. "Serenity, we /let/ you have minutes alone on Earth, and you know what damned fool stuff it got you into!"
Serenity is leaning over the railing of the balcony, sighing. At that she spins around, scowling. "It wasn't damned fool stuff." She snaps, scowling. "It was love.. That's what I was doing.. Falling in love again.. And, for the first time in my life, and before you dragged me away, I was actually /Happy/!" Hmph. With that she turns back around, and resumes her leaning.
Artemis's eyes narrow. "Oh, I see. And as long as you're happy, nothing else matters?" The white man starts slowly across the balcony. "To Chaos with your friends, to Chaos with your people, to Chaos with you own mother, is that it? Who cares about anyone else...you were /HAPPY/. Is that how it works?"
Serenity doesn't turn back around, probably to hide the tears already falling down her cheeks. "Don't make it sounds like I am just some selfish brat, Artemis... Because that's not the case at all!" Snifflesniffle. "All my life I've always done everything I was ever told... Done everything that was expected of me, and the one time I don't is the one time I'm happy...." She stops leaning, then, and finally turns back around, still sniffling. "Don't you see? I won't ever be /able/ to be that happy again, and... And you just dragged me away..." She quiets significantly at that last part before turning back around to once-a gain resume her leaning.
Artemis nods his head. "I dragged you away before you did something that would start a war or worse."
Serenity doesn't turn around, this time. "I wasn't going to get married right away... All I wanted was... An official engagement... Artemis," Siiiigh, "I'm seventeen years old.. Any longer and Mother will arrange me a marriage to some dopey guy who's parents are nobles in her court." Siiiigh again. "I refuse to live the rest of my life like the first half..." she sighs again, adding, "Miserable and alone, with only my daydreams as companions..."
A gentle, tired hand touches Serenity's shoulder. "Serenity, do you really think your mother would make you marry someone you didn't want to?"
Serenity shrugs that shoulder off. "I know she would... I'd always been told, since I was born, that I would live only to fulfill my duty as Princess, and then Queen of the Silver Millenium." She mutters miserably, sniffling.
Artemis shakes his head, sighing. "Your mother loves you more than anything else, Serenity. She does not want you to be unhappy, but you are a Princess. You need to think about your people, and work them into your happiness as well."
Serenity sighs heavily. "I /have/ though about my people.. I've though of all the good a union with Terra would do them.... And I've thought of how much happier I would be if I weren't.. 'different'." She sighs again, noting, "All I want is to be like a normal girl... A normal girl gets to marry the man she love when she's at the right age.. And then grow and have a family..." She sighs yet again. "Why can't it be as simple as that?"
Artemis shrugs slightly. "You don't have to deal with all a normal girl does. You don't worry about starvation, or whether you'll have a place to sleep."
"At least... at least that's /real/..." Serenity breathes, inching further down the balcony and leeaaaaning lazily.
The white-haired man moves to lean next to Serenity on the balcony. One hand waves over the land. "This isn't real? The people out there that depend on you to be their Princess aren't real?"
Serenity turns to face Artemis, scowling. "It isn't real... It isn't /normal/..." She mutters, moving away from him and sliding further down the balcony
Artemis sighs softly, shaking his head. "You're talking to /me/ about normal?" Suddenly, where there was a man, there is a cat. "You call this normal?"
Serenity blinks, glancing down at the significantly more compact for Artemis is now in. "That's not exactly what I'm talking about... I'm talking about /me/ being a normal girl instead of a.... Princess."
Slowly, the cat becomes a man once more. "And if you weren't a Princess, who would be? Who would take care of the people when your mother is gone?"
Artemis suddenly straightens, changing into a tall, white haired bishonen.
Serenity sighs, heavily. "I don't know, Artemis, I suppose she could just have another daughter..." She scoots further down the bench 'till she runs into the wall. Oof. Out of room to run.
Artemis arches one of his fine brows slightly. "Oh? And just who will be the father? She already found her love once."
Serenity sighs, heavily. "...Even /she/ had her chance..." She mumbles quietly, before wandering back into her room.
