"Remembrance Day"

Osama Bin Laden and his minions ruined my dinner a year ago.
As I was about to recieve a take-home dinner comprised of a McDonald's
value meal, my brother-in-law just brought word of something really
went wrong. I was told to turn to CNN.
As sure as fuck, I saw in horror that only one of the damaged WTC Towers
was standing in a cloud of dust that was left of its other demolished
twin. Then around twenty minutes later that tower finally crashed down
into the ground, killing more of its occupants and its rescuers.
Guiltily I put down my dinner away.
For the remainder of that evening (of September 10, as the destruction
had played out in the morning) up to the wee hours of the morning,
and then for the last two weeks I watched the news, trying to know
what the hell happened there and why.
Then that spun into months, as the evidence was being pieced bit by bit.
The two men who rode on Flight 77 before the FBI could catch them in
Boston. That insidious videotape (or two) of the gloating over the deaths.
Damn it, they took over the planes with plastic knives, and turned these
two-engined people carriers into perfectly-guided outsized attack missiles.
Death and more death.
And all of the unfortunate facts (that also put the FBI and the CIA in
hot water for NOT ACTING QUICK) led to a bearded man, living underground
somewhere in the dusty hills of Afganistan (and later Pakistan, I presume)
whose facial calmness disturbed me deeply.
Today I am wearing black. Black to remember and mourn silently as I
work now, and as I am typing this out. My desktop wallpaper had the
big Old Glory behind Asuka, proclaiming great honor to the New Yorkers.
And today I will, from that time onward, condemn the false priests who
use religion to destroy and hate, and they will be considered as nothing
less than fucking animals.
I will also condemn either the lack of religion or the excess of religion,
as these hellish extremes are the equivalent of psychosis.
And I, soul.assassin, will see to that moderation in everything will be
basis for a orderly and peaceful life.
Amen.
