Silvia is my pen-name. I am 20+ , ~college, eats sushi, loves Chinese takeouts, like independent and foreign films. Japanese pop, Hong-Kong sci-flicks. Jet Lee is cool. Kung-Fu too awesome.

How long have I been drawing? 
Doodle is a life-long past-time. Serious manga work is 5-6 years. 
There's a saying in manga industry: 5 years to know 10 years to make it. 

Where did I learn this stuff? 
Self -taught.

  • There are helpful manga school books both in english and japanese.

    • What is next? 
    I think this manga format has limitless possibilities, 
    in terms of creating unique & original worlds. It is more than a story, 
    it influences people, affect emotions... reflects the current value system in the society. 
    It is the product of youth. 
     

  • The greatest satisfaction is in bringing the characters alive

    • True. Manga is a medium that shapes on the next level beyond words.  A place where 
    one can merge visual artistry with verbal imagery.  Not to merely be a filmatic story book, 
    not a supplement onto itself, like a graphic novel, but a new medium in its own right. 
     

  • Manga is silly.

    • True. It is a fantasy world.

    that I embark on the never-ending journey to approach them.
