The charter of the Network
of Indian Professionals – Kansas City, is to follow the guidelines and
concepts as defined below:
Section II:
Goals and Objectives provides a comprehensive list of topics that board
members serving in a particular year may cover. They may choose to cover
some or all of these topics dependent upon the availability of resources
and time and, the need of its members, to develop a particular area of
interest. |

Mission: The mission
of the Network of Indian Professionals - Kansas City, is to support individuals
in furthering their careers, education and understanding of the Indian
culture by providing a medium to network, present and exchange information. |

Organize and present
seminars, lectures, forums for discussions, articles and debates,
on topics of interest to the members
Sponsor seminars conducted by
professionals and individuals recognized for their accomplishments in India
and/or USA.
Hold discussion forums on topics
and issues raised by members.
Provide opportunity to the members
to write articles on topics that interest them and others in the newsletter.
Also offer articles to Newspapers and if accepted, NetIP - KC, would reward
the author for his or her contribution.
Support and foster entrepreneurial
efforts
Provide a means for members to
gain information about starting businesses in the US and/or India
Provide local businesses with
the resources to research the KC market for any potential data that the
businesses may need. A small fee will be charged for this.
Collaborate with Commercial Associations
in USA and India that would help further NetIP - KC’s cause and therefore
serve the needs of the members.
Collaborate with faculties of
Business Administration at local universities
Collaborate with businesses in
order to increase the number of contacts, thereby expanding the networking
capabilities of NetIP - KC.
Collaborate with Associations
(including Chambers of Commerce), businesses and individuals that would
jointly serve all groups involved in meeting their objectives.

Enhance the cultural awareness
of India
Facilitate community work in the
US and India.
Provide a means of teaching and
learning the languages of India.
Provide a means of teaching and
learning the Indian cuisine, through classes and cooking contests.
Provide a means of teaching and
learning Indian Music and Dance
Sponsor activities that would
enhance one’s knowledge about Indian Music, Theater, Dance, Artifacts,
Attire and Indian traditions.
Collaborate with travel agencies
to give individuals, traveling in groups, concessions on travel to India.
Stage cultural/variety shows portraying
different sides of India. This may be done in collaboration with another
local association.

Provide students with an
information bank regarding their field of study

Provide students in US and
India with information regarding universities.

Invite knowledgeable faculty members
from universities to speak to students about admission requirements and
application procedures.

Invite professionals to act as
mentors to students aspiring a career in the same field as the professional.

Invite professionals to
speak at schools and university gatherings in order to motivate students
to continue and further their education and eventually careers.

Provide students with a resume
bank and utilize NetIP - KC contacts to link students with prospective
employers for permanent or part-time positions.
