“Picture Perfect”

“Go get the camera, someone,” Serena said. I looked up as best I could from my place in Kev’s lap. Across from us Jen and Paskie sat there reading over the Leo section in one of Serena’s zodiac books. Quickly I said I wasn’t going to move from my spot, neither would Kev. Serena looked to Paskie and waved a hand in his direction.

“Go get the camera, Pas. It’s downstairs on the telephone table.” Paskie blinked.

“But I can’t swim down the stairs!” he joked, referring to his own zodiac, Pisces. “There’s no water!” Jen made a frustrated noise and grabbed him by the arm.

“C’mon I’ll go with you,” she said, tugging him out of the bedroom. The three of us chuckled. Jen poked her head back into the door and said to me, “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do or would do!” I tossed her a glare then smiled. We waited for them to return, saying little or nothing.

“Okay how do you work this thing?” Jen asked as she walked back in carrying the small silver camera. I told her how to do it.

“Okay who’s gonna pose first?” she asked. Serena suggested taking one of herself, Kev, and I in the pose we were in already. I snuggled close to the arms around my middle and looked up into the camera. Kev rested his cheek against my head as Serena leaned on his shoulders. Jen snapped the pic, making us all blink from the bright flash. We took a few group shots after that. Then while Kev and I were standing beside each other, he looked down at me with tenderness and suddenly Serena squealed,

“Do that again!” We looked at her. Jen was nodding in agreement with Serena’s idea. I blushed, knowing I’d buckle under his blue gaze. Which is exactly what I did. I waited with a giggly smile on my face while the picture was taken. We stayed that way for awhile, my blush deepening. Finally I looked down, totally embarassed. But I knew once it was developed and viewed by us all, it’d be declared as picture perfect.
