A complete rebuild of the brand-new No-Dachi NDA-1K, the Combine's answer to the Federated Commonwealth's hatchet carrying 'mechs, the No-Dachi II was commisioned to serve the 4th NightStalkers. Unhappy with a mere variant, the Tai-sa of the Death's Angels redeisgned the BattleMech from scratch. The new Endo-Steel chassis mounted a heftier sword than the original and supported jump jets, a feature considered essential to the Fourth. Instead of the longer-range and brutal damage potential of the new Medium-Range Missiles, the No-Dachi II was outfitted with lasers to minimize the need for support. The difference in the cost of the lasers over the cost of fully-loaded missile racks was negligible, and the loss of range was made up for by the increased mobility that jump jets offered.
The NDA-2K weighs in a full 5 tons heavier than the original No-Dachi. Half of that weight goes to durable Starshield armor. The No-Dachi II, weilding a 4-ton Katana, can easily put that extra weight to good use.
The No-Dachi II is available with standard and Double Heat Sinks. Pilots who favor physical combat prefer the standard Heat Sinks to keep their 'mechs hot when range limits the use of the PPC. The Double Heat Sinks help keep the NDA-2K cool when its pilot takes advantage of its superior mobility, firing all 10 energy weapons into an opponent. Should an opponent survive a full barrage from the No-Dachi II, the now-heated 'mech can easily close the gap finish the job with sword and lasers.
