Kohaku tells Hisui and Kokyou that he and grandpa will be out for a while. Hisui tells Kokyou that Kohaku has a lot to learn in the human world, and he thinks Shuuichirou is the man who can teach him. Just when Kokyou wants to say something about Shuuichirou, Hisui rises up and rushes to the boiling kettle in the kitchen.

Grandpa asks Kohaku to bring him to the music store to buy a CD, then they go to the park where stand a big wisteria tree. Kohaku knows about the place because Shuuichirou often brings him there for a walk. Hari and Ryuuri and later Kouryuu follow them from afar. Grandpa looks sad when he is standing under the wasteria. He tells Kohaku that Shuuichirou's mother disappeared in this park when Shuuichirou became a senior student at highschool. She was a very beautiful person, and she likes vegetation very much. That is why Shuuichirou's garden is full of trees and plants. The CD that grandpa has bought contains the song she loved most. Grandpa does not know where she had come from nor how she met his son (Shuuichirou's father), but he had never cared because he wants his son to be happy with the woman he loved. However, Shuuichrou has become a quiet person after his mother disappeared in this park. Grandpa still remembers that the wisteria was blossoming when Shuuichirou's mother disappeared.

Kohaku opens the CD case and "sees" how beautiful the music sounds. Grandpa is surprised that he could do that, and marvels at the brilliance of the children of the technological era. (^_^) Anyway, Kohaku sings sweetly under the wisteria tree, and he can feel that the tree has become very happy. Grandpa praises Kohaku's singing, which reminds him of Shuuichirou's mother. Kohaku asks about Shuuichirou's father, but he sadly learns that he was killed in an air crash one year after his wife's disappearance. Grandpa enjoys talking with Kohaku, and he says it is a surprise that Shuuichirou would agree to let him question about his past.

Grandpa is going to buy him a drink as a prize. Kohaku argues that earning money is not easy and therefore he should not waste any money on him. Yet, the old man trods away to the convenience store at the corner of the street to buy him milk and a drink for himself. Kohaku cannot stop him. He is left in the park alone, so he tries to find Shuuichirou's mother and asks the wisteria tree to tell him if tragic things had happened there before, but there had not been any. Now, Kouryuu appears and says to Kohaku that he can find out the truth by going back to the past, However, Kohaku cannot do that on his own. And strangely enough, Kouryuu offers to help, but Kohaku is scared.

"If you could find his mother, you may be helping Shuuichirou as well." Kouryuu suggested impishly.

As a result, Kouryuu accepts the help of Kouryuu...
