Pearl, the Pekin duck

Name:Pearl, I got the name from my friend Maggie.
Born:hm..I'm not sure, probably around early July
Age:she's almost 2 months old.
Breed:Pekin
Looks:A purdy white/canary color, with a bright orange beak and orange feet.
Departure:hm..I think i'm going to keep her as a house duck, because she's too domestic to go outside in the lake. @.@
Info:I got her from my friend Mary, who bought her in a pet store. She couldn't take care of her anymore soo she let me have her. She came to tina's duckie retirement home..^.^;; anyway, I got her when she was one month old. The differences between Pekins and Mallards is that Pekins are much more docile and calmer. They love being picked up and petted, etc. Mallards, on the other hand, are more wild. After all, Mallards are their wild ancestors..Pekins are flightless and were bred for their meat and eggz..x.x I'd say they make excellent house ducks, but they wouldn't survive outside very well because they can't fly, they don't have camouflauge, and..well they're not very lean.
