At the Hot Lip salon working on a customer's hair, the scenes of himself searching desperately for Kyoko play in his mind "Kyo-ko!...Shu-ji!...Shu-ji!"...... "Ow!" The yelp of pain from the customer brings Shuji back to the present. She touches her ear "Oh no! Blood!" Shuji tells an assistant "Excuse me, please get a towel..." as Satoru & Takumi look on to see what's happening. Shuji asks the girl "Sorry, are you alright?" Mayumi & Satoru come over "Are you alright?" "Let's go over there & take a rest..." "This way..." "Bring a drink over..." Satoru says as Mayumi leads the customer away. Shuji goes into the staff room, passing by Satoru who looks on, concerned...

Sitting down on the sofa in the staff room, Shuji breathes a deep sigh muttering "What am I doing?" Takumi enters "Are you alright? That's the first time something like that's happened...what happened?" handing Shuji a bottle of water from the fridge. Satoru comes in "Shuji...let me do the girl's hair..." "It's ok, I'm fine..." "No...she's a little nervous right now...let me take care of it..." Satoru tells Takumi "Come on..." & they walk out, leaving Shuji alone with a troubled heart...

"Then...the examination's next Thursday, ok?" asks the doctor. Kyoko replies "Yes..." "You're alone today? Where's your brother?" Kyoko says with a smile "Doctor, I'm 27 already...I can come to the hospital by myself..." "That's true..." laughs the doctor as Kyoko smiles at him "Yes..."

Alone, Kyoko wheels herself down the passages of the hospital...

At a sushi bar counter, Masao looks at Sachi with shock "Eh?" Sachi nods, not saying anything. Masao asks "Really? You're serious?" Sachi nods again. Masao asks "When?" Sachi finally replies "When? Uhm..." taking out a notebook & looking at it, muttering "...when..." Rather consciously, Masao says "Never mind, never mind..." as a couple of customers look on rather curiously at the couple. Masao whispers "When?" Sachi replies "The day we went for the movie I think...the first time you came over to my place..." "Eh? But you said everything was fine!" Sachi smiles "Sorry..." but Masao says rather worriedly "What sorry..." "But listen to me...I've seen the plan..." "Plan?" "Your life schedule...Sachi...27 years old, first child; 29 years old, second child; 30 years old, use savings to go on a holiday to Hawaii with the whole family..." Sachi takes out Masao's piece of paper & shows it to him. Masao moans "That Kyoko..." Sachi adds "According to this, we have to hurry a bit, I'm already 27..." Masao falls silent & Sachi looks at him "Eh...it's not going to work?" "Eh?" "Having a baby...it's not good?" "No...it's not that..." "Yes...in any case, we're going to get married..." Masao keeps silent & looking apologetic, says "......Sachi...I'm sorry...marriage...can you wait a little bit?..." "Eh..." "I'm sorry..."

At the library canteen, Sachi says to Kyoko "Looks like I'm not the one..." Kyoko looks up in surprise "My brother?" Sachi nods "Uhm..." "No such thing, if it's not you then who?" "Then why would he ask me to wait a bit more before getting married?...I'll have this baby alone I wonder...a single mother..." Kyoko looks at her in shock "Eh? Eh! This baby...where's this baby!?" "Eh...here..." Sachi puts her hands on her stomach. Kyoko says "You're serious?!" "Didn't you hear from Masao?" Kyoko says excitedly "I didn't! That's great Sachi! Congratulations!" "Uh...thank you...you're the 2nd one to congratulate me after the doctor..." "What about aniki?" "That's just it...after I told him about the baby, he said he wanted to postpone the wedding...what's that suppose to mean? Is it bad?" The expression on Kyoko's face changes from ecstasy to one of comprehension "Ah...that's it..." Sachi looks in surprise "Eh?" Kyoko explains "It's not what you think...it's not your fault, it's mine...my illness has taken a turn for the worse, I've got to go for an examination..." Sachi nods as Kyoko simply says "My brother must be worried about it..." Sachi looks a little down & Kyoko smiles "Don't look like that! Everything's fine..." Sachi smiles back but looks worried...

Waiting to go up the Ferris wheel, Kyoko takes a snapshot "I'm so excited..." Shuji asks "You took a picture?" "Yes..." The attendant comes up to them "Please come forward & wait..." As they move forward, they look up at the massive structure. Shuji says "It's huge...which one shall we take?" "What color?" "Which? That one?" "Blue?...ah, it's stopped..." "What's that?" An announcement comes on "What's going on? The Ferris wheel's stopped..." Kyoko smiles "I wanted to hear that..." Shuji asks "You know about this?" Kyoko explains "When there's someone on a wheelchair that wants a ride, they'll make this announcement & let the others wait a bit..." The attendants come up & place a ramp in front of the car "Here...this way..." Kyoko smiles "Thank you..." as Shuji pushes her forward...

Up in the Ferris wheel, as Kyoko takes some pictures, Shuji says "...like this up here...in this viewing car...people use this space for different things huh..." Kyoko looks at him "You're serious?" "Of course...no one can see anything..." Shuji looks out the window & suddenly goes "Wow!" Kyoko looks out "You're kidding! Serious?" Shuji looks back at her "I lied...pervert..." teasing her. He adds "...I guess it's better at night..." Kyoko looks at him "Doing it...kissing...?" Shuji looks back at her "Of course it's kissing, usually...what are you thinking about? What did you think it was?" "Nothing..." replies Kyoko, looking out the window. Shuji says "Hey..." "Uhm?" "Let's do it..." "Kiss..." "Kidding...we're not high school kids..." "Yeah..." "Yes..." After an awkward moment, Kyoko says "Let's do it..." "Huh?" "Kiss..." "Not cool!!...did you say that for real?" "Kidding..." "Kidding?" Looking around, Shuji finally says "Let's do it..." "Eh?" "Let's do it..." "Idiot..." Shuji looks around & then moves closer to kiss Kyoko when all of a sudden, the Ferris wheel stops & they start swinging. The announcement comes on again "What's going on? The Ferris wheel's stopped..." Kyoko says "Someone on a wheelchair's going down..." The announcement continues "...this is a problem..." & Shuji mutters "Didn't have to stop..." Kyoko smiles & points her camera at him. Shuji puts his hand out "Stop it...no pictures..." both of them laughing...

At a cafe, Kyoko exchanges plates with Shuji "If you can, have this too..." Shuji nods "Uhm..." mouth full of food. Kyoko takes out her medication from her bag & Shuji watching, asks "When's the examination?" "Next Thursday..." "Shall I go with you?" "It's ok, you've got to work don't you?" "I do but I can take the day off..." "It's ok, my brother's coming..." Shuji says "Oh...then make sure you call me..." Kyoko nods "Uhm...I will..." "What shall we do now?" "Eh? No way, it's still ok?" "Absolutely..." "Great...then what shall we do..." "Anything...movie's fine...or shopping..." "Then let's go shopping..."

As Shuji walks back to his apartment, he finds Takumi waiting for him "Shuji!" Shuji looks surprised "Oh..." Takumi greets him "Hi..."

Kyoko comes up to Masao in the living room "Oni-chan!" Masao, pouring over some numbers in a book grunts "Uhm?" Kyoko grins "Hehehe..." "What's with that? Giving me the creeps..." "I went shopping today..." "Oh..." "What did you think I bought?" "Clothes again? Your closet's full you don't have to buy any more..." Kyoko reaches behind her wheelchair & takes out a little packet "Wrong...here..." Masao takes it from her "What's this?" "It's cute isn't it? Gloves!" "Why are they so tiny?" "Congratulations!" Light dawns on Masao "Sachi?" Suddenly, Masao panics as Kuniko comes into the house "That's right...I bought a lot so this was free...at the supermarket by the station..." taking out the radishes to the shop out front. Kyoko asks "Haven't you told mom yet?" "Of course not! If mom knew she'd go apologize, doing things like that before marriage..." "Ni-chan, you're wrong...tell mom, she's a very understanding person..." "Really?" "She's a modern person..." "Really?" Masao doesn't quite believe Kyoko. Kyoko rummages behind her again "& this..." "What? Some more? Don't bring out baby socks..." Kyoko brings out a box "Here..." Masao takes it "A soft toy?" "It's not just a soft toy..." Kyoko replies, taking it back from Masao & opening it "It's got recorded sounds like being in a mother's womb...it'll make the baby sleep easier..." Masao takes the toy from Kyoko "This is too early for that...it's still a while yet before the birth..." Kyoko closes the box, not looking at Masao "I thought it would be better if I did it sooner..." Masao pauses & then says "Never mind...but don't tell mom & dad...I'll tell them myself..." Kyoko pouts "I went to get it specially too..." looking at the toy. Masao looks at her "I accept it then..." holding the toy in his arms like a baby "thank you...a little dog..." Sounds come out from the toy & freaks Masao out, tossing it into the air & Kyoko catching it...

In his apartment, Shuji makes coffee for himself & Takumi. Shuji says "Thanks for the other time..." "It's nothing..." "Why were you waiting outside?" Shuji asks, putting down a mug in front of Takumi. Takumi replies "I was a little worried..." "What about?" "Well, the other day..." "Oh...her ear?" "Kyoko's not doing too well?" "Well, yeah..." replies Shuji, putting on some music. Shuji takes a seat at the table with Takumi "Rather than talk about that, what about yourself? What about anteusu..." "Shuji...I'm thinking of going back & becoming an assistant...although I've been wavering, in the end I want to earn that capability myself...I want to be perfectly satisfied that I can do a cut first, then serve the customers...not just merely to be popular..." "You're got foresight..." "Don't laugh at me..." "I'm kidding...but that's great...go for it..." Takumi nods, pleased to have gotten Shuji's approval. Shuji looks back at Takumi, his mind on other things...

Tossing & turning in bed, unable to get to sleep, Shuji thinks about Kyoko by the lake where he grabs her, putting his hands around her from behind "I'm here aren't I?!" & Kyoko replies in tears "Sorry..." Shuji gets up & turns on the light by his bed, reaching out for the Dream Catcher hanging on it. Taking it in his hands, he looks at it muttering "Please...bad dreams are suppose to be caught here right? Please let me have only the good dreams..." giving a tired sigh...

Kyoko opens the window in her bedroom & looks out at the moon "...beautiful..." With the moonlight shining on Kyoko's profile, she stares up at the moon. Suddenly her cell phone rings & she goes inside, taking her phone & looks at the screen. With a smile she answers "Hello..." Shuji says "Ah...sorry...were you sleeping?" "No...still awake..." Shuji gives a big sigh & Kyoko asks "What's wrong?" "No...nothing..." "Shuji...go outside & look..." "Why?" "The moon's beautiful..." "Is it?" Shuji goes outside onto his veranda & looks up at the moon "Ah...it is, really..." "Isn't it..." "Yes...but it's unusual for you to call me a this time..." "No...I couldn't get to sleep...that's to say...feeling......lonely..." "Shuji..." "Uhm?" "I'm always next to you..." "Huh?" "Even if we're apart, I'm thinking about you..." "Somehow...suddenly feels warm...really warm..." "Yeah?" "I...feel really glad that you're around..." "You're really open today...telling me nice things..." "But my words can't catch up..." "Hm?" "No...just that I've thought about a lot of things...but my words just can't keep up..." "Thank you......Shuji...you gave me the key right? The key to your apartment..." Shuji goes back into his apartment & sits on the floor "Eh? Ah..." "I think...you've given me the key to your heart...told me I can come in anytime...what's that huh..." Touched with tears in his eyes, Shuji replies "You're right..." "Hm?" "You're very right..." Kyoko smiles "Uhm..." & then says "We didn't kiss today did we..." Shuji laughs "Why say that all of a sudden?" "Let's do it next time...passionately!" "You're still a lady...saying it like that..." "Okay..." "But that's great...passionately..." "Stop it, I was just kidding..." "What? Just kidding..." The heavy atmosphere between them disappears as they banter light heartedly, Shuji's voiceover comes on...

The both of us were afraid of the passing time...

As Shuji arrives for work the next day, he notices some movers running inside Hot Lip as he parks his bike outside the salon. Going in, he sees everyone crowding around. Some men in suits are talking among themselves "...it's used...even if it was expensive, it's only 50,000 yen...for the present, start with all the chairs..." "All right, clear of all the chairs..." Takumi says "Stop it...what right have you got to..." One of the men grab Takumi "We have all the right in the world...you're the one that's in the way..." Another man looking through the equipment says sarcastically "This is junk..." dropping some of hairstylists scissors on the floor. Shuji rushes forward "What are you doing?!" Satoru comes up & stops him "Shuji!" "Who the hell are these people?" he says, as Satoru pulls him back towards the others looking on...

In the staff room, Shuji says "Tenchou used this place as collateral for the loan?" Mayumi ponders "Speaking of which, those strange businessmen came to see Tenchou..." Takumi adds "That lady from anteusu also said so...that Hot Lip's in trouble..." Mayumi says "So it's just like Shuji said...opening 3 salons was impossible..." Satoru retorts "It's too late saying that now..." Mayumi tells him off "You yourself wanted to be the head of one of the salons..." "Wait a minute, when did I ever say that?" Shuji interrupts "Stop it!" & walks out, Takumi following. Outside, Shuji watches as the men clear away everything in Hot Lip...

Masao & Sachi visit a Shinto shrine in the neighborhood. Sachi buys a charm from the shrine "This is for recovery of illness right?" "That's 1,500 yen please..." "ok..." As Masao waits for Sachi, he looks at a couple walking away with a baby in hand...

As they leave the shrine, Masao asks "Is that for Kyoko? Want me to pass it to her?" "Ah, I don't want to give her any pressure, I'll just keep it with me & pray for her..." "I'm sorry, Sachi..." "What about?" "Actually, it's better for the baby if we hurry...going to visit your family..." "It's ok...don't have to rush it..." "But Sachi...at least believe me...I want to marry you...other than you, I can't think of anyone else...& the baby will be cute too..." Sachi nods. Masao continues "But with Kyoko like this..." Sachi assures him "I understand...I understand...this baby is mine...it's your baby too so he'll understand...we can get married anytime..." "I'm really sorry..." Sachi asks "But...having this baby...it's ok right?" "Of course Sachi...what are you saying? Ah..." Masao digs into his pocket & gives a packet to Sachi. Sachi opens the packet & takes out a good luck charm. Masao tells her "It's to have a safe pregnancy..." Touched, Sachi says "Thank you..." "Take good care of yourself..." Sachi nods as Masao smiles. Sachi puts her hand in Masao's as they leave the shrine...

In an empty Hot Lip, Takumi walks in to see Shuji alone, sticking labels on postcards. "Shuji...what are you doing?" "Oh...I just thought it would be better to send out a note to all the customers that the salon's closed..." Takumi looks at what Shuji's doing & then offers "I'll do it...I'll do it..." "Thank you..." replies Shuji as he sits down on the floor. Takumi says "Everyone else's just thinking about themselves..." "Looking for their next job...feels like the carriage's magic spell has broken..." Shuji lies down on the floor "What's that?" "It's like...Cinderella getting a shock..." Shuji looks at Takumi "...you can do the nice haircuts that I can't..." "Really?" "From now on..." "What about you?" "If I do any haircuts now, I'd probably just cut another customer's ear..." Takumi looks at a despondent Shuji...

Masao rummages through the cabinets in the kitchen "Mom...where's the sukiyaki pot? Kyoko..." Kuniko calls "Masao! You've got a visitor..." Masao turns to see Shuji at the doorway "Hello..." & Masao's face turns grumpy "You again? Don't come here..." Kuniko stops him "Don't talk like that...thanks to him he saved Kyoko..." Shuji says "No, no such thing..." Kuniko tells Masao "Masao...thank him..." Masao reluctantly says "I'll make tea..." Kuniko says "Really..." as Masao walks in. Someone calls out from the store "Excuse me..." & Kuniko replies "Yes!" telling Shuji "Go in, go in..." as she goes out into the store. Shuji mutters "Excuse me..." & enters the house...

Pouring tea & placing a cup in front of Shuji, Shuji mutters "Thank you...ah, oni-san..." Masao protests "Calling me 'oni-san'...I'm not your brother..." Shuji says "Will you approve my seeing Kyoko? Please approve..." "Approve of  you...it's not..." Shuji says hesitatingly "...no...I'd...like it if...you could approve of us..." Kuniko looks on, listening to their conversation. Masao finally says "You...is it really ok?...She's...I think you know already...she hasn't been well lately...she might even get worse...will that be ok with you too?" "That's why...I want to be with her..." "Be with her...just what the hell can you do?!" Before Shuji can reply, they hear Yoshio's voice "We're back!" & then Kyoko's voice "Dad, this too..." Kuniko says "They're back..." Kyoko says "Is this all of it?" "Yes..." Kuniko goes to greet them. Kyoko goes happily into the living room "I'm back..." Masao greets them "Welcome back..." & Kyoko, seeing Shuji is happily surprised "What's going on?" "The salon's closed for the day..." "You could've given me a call..." Yoshio tells him "Welcome...you're just in time...have sukiyaki with us?" Kuniko agrees "Yes...come join us..." "It's ok..." replies Shuji but Kyoko says excitedly "Yes, yes...Dad's sukiyaki is really something..." Masao looks on, not saying anything & Shuji returns the look. Kyoko, not chatters on "Dad, lucky we bought 2 packs of beef..."

At the table, Yoshio pours some beer for Shuji "...I've never been to such a fancy salon before..." Kuniko adds "...but I've been...Shuji, what style do you think suits me?" Shuji says "Maybe add a little bit of color?" "Really? Will I look younger?" Yoshio tells her "Come on...at that age..." Shuji assures them "It's alright..." & then "Thank you..." as Kyoko dishes out some food for him. Masao looks grumpy as Kyoko says "Mom, you can get Shuji to do it for you..." "How can I..." but Shuji says "It's alright, if you'd like..." "But what if I look like Imiru Takuji what's going to happen?" as everyone starts laughing. Kyoko says "Yuck...curly hair?" Yoshio laughs "I'd be totally embarrassed..." Masao looks irritated & Kyoko says "Oni-chan eat..." offering to get some food for him but he protests "I'm fine...I can get it myself..." Suddenly, Masao gets up from the table "Ah that's right..." & turns on the TV. Kuniko says "Masao, Shuji's here..." but Masao replies "I just want to watch something..." Kyoko asks "Watch what?" & Masao retorts "Anything..." A documentary program showing sea turtles come on & Masao says excitedly "This...this..." Kuniko says "Masao's always liked this..." Masao looks at the turtle laying eggs in the sand "It's one of nature's greatest mysteries...it's really fantastic, one time it can lay...how many eggs..." Kyoko tells him "Who knows...you're mad..." Shuji replies "A hundred..." Masao looks at Shuji who says "It lays eggs in the sand right...a hundred eggs each time..." Masao turns of the TV looking irritated & Kuniko says "Ah, Shuji, you don't have any more egg..." Kyoko adds "Mom, me too..." "ok..." "Dad...more beer..." says Kyoko, pouring more beer for her father as Shuji looks at Masao...

Shuji gets into the pickup "Thanks very much..." Masao doesn't say anything, merely nods. Kyoko comes out with her parents "Sorry, I drank so..." Shuji puts on his seat belt "It's ok...I'll call you..." "I'll be waiting..." Shuji looks at Kyoko's parents "Ah, thank you very much..." "It's ok..." Kyoko says "Then, oni-chan...please..." Masao nods in silence & drives off, Kyoko watching, the smile on her face disappearing. Kuniko says "Come on in...it's cold..." Kyoko nods "Uhm..." & turns to go in but at the last moment, turns back to look down the street...

In the pickup, Masao says "ok if I drop you off at the station?" "Yes..." "She...Kyoko...her body can't take it anymore...that's why she didn't send you to the station..." "Eh..." "Continuing what we talked about earlier...by any chance are you thinking that...in any case it's only a little while more...then you can go out with someone else..." Shuji doesn't reply & Masao says "Sorry..." Shuji tells him "If you're not driving this very moment I'd have hit you..." Masao says "Sorry...it's tough on you too huh..." "It's not only me...all around her, those that love her all feel this way too..." "& she herself too huh..." "Yes..." "Do you have a cigarette? Cigarette..."

Stopping by one of the many waterways, Masao lights a cigarette "Just now......I haven't seen her that happy like that for a long time..." Shuji asks "Just now when?" "When she came back with Dad from the supermarket...when she saw you...like celebrating the Bon festival or New Year's...her face transformed..." Shuji smiles, not saying anything. Masao says "Made me think of something a long time ago..." "A long time ago?" "Ah...when she was still in grade school...kept saying that she wanted a dog...finally Dad gave in...on her tenth or eleventh birthday...don't know where we got it from, a tiny stray dog...mom & I forced it into a little cardboard box, tied it with a ribbon & gave it to her 'Kyoko! Present!'...when she opened it she was ecstatic! She was really happy...just now when I saw her smile...I suddenly thought of that moment..." Masao suddenly says to Shuji "Ah...I'm not saying you're a dog..." but Shuji replies "I understand that..." With tears in his eyes, Masao says "We can't make her smile like that...she was still fine when she was in grade school...along that river over there, she was running together with the dog...all over the place, she was running...she could still walk...could still run...that...why did it turn out like this?" Masao breaks down crying as Shuji listens in silence. Masao says "Sorry, sorry..." wiping off his tears. Shuji's voiceover comes on...

thinking about little Kyoko...it was almost unbearable... 

but I didn't cry...

Shuji goes the hospital & sees Masao waiting alone "Good afternoon..." Masao replies "You came..." "Uhm...is she still undergoing the examination?" "Uhm..." Suddenly one of the doors open & both of them rush up towards Kyoko. Masao asks "How was it? Will the doctor explain later?" Kyoko shakes her head "No, I heard it alone...cause I thought it'd be the same as usual...he said it's hopeless...it's malignant after all..." Both Shuji & Masao digest the news in silence. Kyoko bravely says "Sorry, oni-chan...could you bring my clothes & stuff...I'll have to stay in the hospital..." Masao says "I'm going to talk to the doctor..." "Oni-chan..." but Masao's gone in. Turning back to look at Shuji staring at her, she smiles "Let's go for a drink or something..."

Shuji follows Kyoko out to the hospital grounds "Shall I go get us something to drink?" Kyoko says quietly "Shuji..." "Hm?" Shuji takes off his coat "Cold?" He puts it around Kyoko but she pushes it away & it falls to the ground "Stop it! Why are you being so nice?! Why did you show up? & then be so nice to me?!" All her suppressed emotions, Kyoko throws at Shuji "I wish we hadn't met! I wish I never met you!" With tears in her eyes, Kyoko says "When I die...when I die...it's going to hurt even more...it's going to be even sadder...it's going to hurt even more..." Shuji doesn't say anything, bending down to pick up his coat as Kyoko cries "I wish we never met..." Shuji puts his coat around Kyoko & bends down in front of her, not a tear in his eyes, says resolutely "I'm glad we met...I'm glad I met you, Kyoko...from now one, let's hang in there together...let's find a way to be happy together...I think no matter what kind of life...no matter what life one has, one has the strength to be happy..." Kyoko looks at him, tears rolling down her face. Shuji puts his arms around her, holding her. Crying, Kyoko says "Shuji...are you crying?" Shuji replies "I'm not crying..." "...but I can hear it...the sound of your heart crying...I can hear it..." With Kyoko crying, Shuji holds her tighter...

In the distance, Masao looks on at the both of them, heartache written all over his face...

Alone in the hospital bed, unable to sleep, Kyoko puts her hand on her head, sighing. A nurse slides the door open "Machida-san, lights out...can't sleep? Need some medication?" "No, I'm fine..." "Then goodnight..." says the nurse, turning out the lights as she leaves. Alone, Kyoko reaches out for a notebook by her bed & starts writing in it. Her voiceover comes on...

Unable to sleep tonight in the hospital, I write this...

how great this happiness with you is...

as if I'm not losing to this suffering now...I write this...

Kyoko leaves the hospital & gets into a taxi, the key that Shuji gave her in her hand...

In his apartment, Shuji takes out his hairdressing tools & looks at them. Suddenly the doorbell rings & surprised, he mutters "Who..." before walking to the foyer "Yes?" Looking through the peephole in the door & not seeing anyone, he mutters "Who is it?" Opening it slowly, Shuji looks out "Yes?" Kyoko comes round the corner & Shuji looks at her in surprise "You..." Kyoko says "I came...I had to feed the elephant..." "Huh?" Kyoko shows him the key "This...the key to the elephant's cage at the Ueno Zoo..." "Not that...the hospital..." Before Shuji can say anymore, Kyoko leans forward & puts her arms around Shuji "No matter what I wanted to see you...I wanted to see you...no matter what, I wanted to see you, see you..." Shuji smiles & looks around "I know..."

Shuji makes a phone call to the hospital "Hello...Machida Kyoko...I'm Machida Kyoko's family...yes...yes...that's correct...yes...that's fine...I'll bring her back...goodnight..." Kyoko asks "What did they say?" "I could take you back tomorrow..." "Really?" "Uhm..." "Let you stay out tonight..." "That's great...what a relief..." "It's not a relief..." "Sorry...don't make me lie...I was nervous..." Shuji puts his arm around Kyoko's shoulders. With her head on Shuji's shoulder, Kyoko says "Hey..." "Hm?" "One more...I've got one more favor to ask you..." "What?" Kyoko looks at Shuji, not saying anything. Shuji goes "Hm?" Kyoko says quietly "I want you to hold me..." Stunned, Shuji stares at her before saying "But I..." Kyoko assures him "It's ok..." Shuji looks at Kyoko as she barely whispers "Make love to me..." Shuji moves away & stares at her. Finally he gets up & lifts Kyoko up from her wheelchair, carrying her & putting her on his bed. Going on top of her, Shuji bends down & kisses her on her forehead. Kyoko tells him "Believe..." Shuji stares at her, then moves closer, kissing her.....
