I figure i could start off with one of my first poems. i did this for my juniorenglish class.. i had jsut startedto get a liking for poetry, and to my surprise, the entire class liked it. its a tad on the abstract, a little on the idiotic.. and the flow changes twords the end.. something i do quite often. anyways, i had to do a piece involving nature as a living moving thing.. so here what i got.

True Fear
As darkness falls upon the land
Shadows stretch for hopeful darkness
A single soul wanders the untamed wilds
Alone and fearful of the unknown that surrounds him
The darkness swallows him into a void
Blackening his vision and crushing his will
Leaving him vulnerable and meek

The old trees sway in the unfelt winds
Laughing and yelling their hollow taunts
While the haunting chirps of crickets
Scream at him with their madness

He sinks back into a huddled mass
Curled upon the ground, lost in dillusion
Tightly he shut his eyes in desperation
Opening them with straining hopes of daylight
Nothing
Nothing but the moon can be seen
Smiling with its broken grin , mocking him from above
Aggression and fear erupt from him in a blinding fury
A cry of defiance and rage, and then darkness
The sudden cackling of victory fills the air
And daylights warmth brings rise to the senses
Before him sits a smiling raven
Its beak turned upward in a cock-eyed grin
And it’s eyes reflecting triumph
It flips its wings , letting out a joyous shriek
And the wind takes it away

Shattered remnants of the madness disperse
And he sits alone in silence The trees are still swaying and a few crickets chirp
He is safe, though he wonders
Though the terror of the night was unforgiving
The hope of daybreak kept him going
But now that the light of day has shone
He feels no more purpose, no fight, no goal
He has no more hope to hold on to
And for that, he is more afraid then ever before
