Celestial Task Force Zodiac Five
Episode 1:  Dimoc Returns

An overview of the city can be seen.  The day is bright and sunny and the sky is blue with a just a few clouds breaking up the monotony of its vastness.  People are walking through the streets, moving along and performing their everyday tasks.  On the sidewalks, some rush to get to their jobs while others stroll along the rows of shops and cafes.  A small group of people seem to be gathering around the window of an appliance store which is full of television screens.  Maya and her friend walk down the street.  Both of the beautiful girls are stylishly and perfectly dressed for the weather and walk with a sense of poise which stands out from those who surround them.  They walk by the crowd.

Announcer:   . . . there's no need to panic . . .

Maya overhears the words and stops dead in her tracks.  She stops her friend too.

Maya:  Whoa!  Let's check this out.

Maya pulls her friend to the back of the crowd.

Friend:  Maya!  We're gonna be late for our fittings.

Maya:  Oh, it'll be alright.  Now hush.

Maya slides her glasses down away from her eyes to see the reporter on the television who seems to be standing not far from a mountain.

Reporter:  Well, Jim, it looks like Mount Havoc has the scientists somewhat baffled.  Only hours ago, what was thought to be a dormant volcano started to show some signs of disturbance within its core.  After over 1000 years, the scientists say the activity was almost  immediate and gave no signs of warning whatsoever.  Therefore, they were unable to set up the proper equipment to analyze the activity within the volcano.  For fear that the volcano may erupt, scientists are weary about sending anyone anywhere near Mount Havoc for the next few days.  All persons within a 30 mile radius of the volcano have been evacuated until scientists can predict whether or not Mount Havoc will actually erupt.  In the meantime, city residents are said not to panic until there's enough    information to make that call.  Back to you, Jim.

People around the window start to talk amongst themselves.  The television screen flashes back to the news anchor.

Anchor:  Thank you, Byron.  We'll be sure to keep everyone informed on the latest occurrences.    In other news...

Maya turns to her friend with a look of concern.

Maya:  Geez, did you hear that?  Pretty freaky, hunh?

Friend:  Yes, and it's gonna get even freakier if we don't hurry.  Now let's go.  The agency is gonna kill us if we're late again.

Maya:  Okay, okay!  Let them dock it from my paycheck.

Maya let's her friend lead her but she still seems disturbed by the news.

Mount Havoc can be seen with smoke coming out of the top.  Deep within the volcano, an insidious laughter can be heard.  In a large cavern small crevices break up the cavern floor with lava flowing through them.  A creature can be seen suspended in a web-like membrane in one of the openings in the center of the cavern.  It is Dimoc and he continues to laugh as Balizar, Vex and Levina enter the cavern.  They all kneel before him.

Balizar:  Great Dimoc, we are honored to be before you once again.

Dimoc:  Ahh, yes.  My three most loyal and deadly subjects.  Our time has come.

Levina:  Indeed, Great One.  But we must not rush into this ordeal.  The Earth has evolved since we last surfaced.  They are now more prepared with technological advancements and powerful warfare.  The task at hand may not be so easy to accomplish.  And I sense that there is another force to be reckoned with.  Much like the one before.

Dimoc:  Nonsense!  For over a thousand years I have waited, and now I grow even more powerful.  Soon I will be complete.  The Zoodos have become more numerous and the Dimocian Beasts rage with anger and destruction.  Nothing will be able to defeat us this time, not even the Zodiac warriors who managed to stop us the first time.  They are no longer, and the Dimocian Clan shall prove victorious!

Levina:  But sire . . .

Dimoc:  Silence, Levina!  Use your sorcery to find whatever gives you this trouble.

Levina waves her staff in the air.  The crystal ball on the end of it glows bright and an image of Paige Kesler appears before them.

Levina:  It is her.  But there are others.

Dimoc:  Vex!  Balizar!

Balizar and Vex stand up and nod.

Dimoc:  Vex, my most lethal warrior.  You and Balizar assemble an army of Zoodos and go to the surface of the Earth.  Find this woman and destroy her and anyone else who may get in our way.  This time there will be no mercy.  The Earth is ours!

Balizar:  Yes, Great Dimoc!

Vex nods and they both take off through one of the caverns.

Dimoc:  Yes, this time the Earth is ours!  Ha, ha, ha!

Dimoc starts to laugh again.

On Noble Mountain in the Kesler Estate, Dr. Kesler is finishing up on a phone conversation.  He has numerous papers and data sheets spread across his desk.  His daughter, Paige, walks in the office at the end of his conversation.

Dr. Kesler:  Thank you.  Keep me updated on the activity.  I will get back to you.

Dr. Kesler puts the receiver down and takes off his glasses.  He begins to rub his eyes as if he were trying to relieve his stress.

Paige:  Dad, did you see the news?

Dr. Kesler:  Ah, Paige.  Yes, I did.  I have already been informed.

Paige:  Does this mean that it's begun?

Dr. Kesler:  I cannot say for sure.  Their presence has not yet been seen, therefore we can only assume that this is a sign.  I do not want to take the chance.  The others are being notified as we speak.  They should be here any moment.  But I need you to do me a favor and contact Kevin Branson.  He is an English teacher at the high school.  He is the only other one we need.

Paige:  Right, I'll get on it.

Paige turns to leave but stops and looks back at her father.

Paige:  Dad?

Dr. Kesler:  Yes, Paige?

Paige:  I have to admit.  At first I was somewhat skeptical.  I mean, I wasn't quite sure how to   take all of this.  But because you're my father I believed you and did everything you   needed to prepare me.  Now it's all suddenly happening so fast and I can't help but be   scared.

Dr. Kesler:  Oh, my dear Paige.  Come here.

Paige goes to her father and he embraces her in a hug.

Dr. Kesler:  I know I have put you through quite an ordeal through the years.  But I want you to know that it was for your own protection as well as for the rest of the world.  It is okay to be afraid; you have every right.  But I know you are capable and I need you to be strong.  I would never do anything to jeopardize your life and I will always be here to help you.  I have taken every precaution to make sure you are taken care of.  You are all I have and I would never chance losing you.  Trust me on this one.

Paige:  Thanks, Dad.  And I do trust you.

Dr. Kesler:  That's my girl.  Now go.  I want us to be ready.

Paige:  Okay.

Paige heads out the door.

At the high school, Kevin is sitting at his desk emptying his drawer and putting things in a cardboard box.  The kids in the class are talking anxiously amongst each other.  Suddenly the school bell rings and the kids hop out of their seats.

Kevin:  Hey!  You kids remember to have a great summer vacation.  And do yourselves a favor.  Try reading a book.  You might actually enjoy it.

Kevin smiles as the kids walk by and wish him a good vacation as well.  When all the kids are gone from the classroom he closes the door and continues to pack his things in some empty boxes.  Paige comes to his door and knocks.  Kevin humorously answers.

Kevin:  Go away!  Summer vacation has officially started and I'm no longer available!

Paige opens the door and peers in.

Paige:  Mr. Branson?

Kevin looks up, surprised that it's not one of his students.

Kevin:  Oh . . . yes.  Excuse me, I thought you were one of my students.  Come in.

Paige enters the room and walks to his desk.

Paige:  Mr. Kevin Branson?

Kevin:  Uh, yeah.  That would be me.  How can I help you?

Paige:  My name is Paige Kesler.  I was wondering if I could talk to you for a moment.

Kevin:  Sure, but could you hold off a second while I finish packing up my things?  I want to get out of here as soon as possible.  I'm leaving tonight for the Bahamas.

Paige:  Oh, okay.

Paige bites her bottom lip and takes a seat at one of the desks.  Kevin finishes packing up his boxes and sees that there's one too many for him to handle.  He looks up at Paige.

Kevin:  Um, do you think you can give me a hand here?

Paige:  Sure.  Let me get this one for you.

Paige gets out of her seat and picks up one of the boxes.

Kevin:  Great.  I hope you don't mind following me to my car.  Maybe you can tell me what you came to talk to me about.

Paige:  Ahh, yes.  I don't even know where to begin.

Kevin:  Start anywhere.

They both head out of the class room and down the hall towards the parking lot.

Paige:  Well, you see, I've come here because my father needs you.

Kevin:  You're father needs me?  And who might your father be?

Paige:  Dr. Ian Kesler.  He's a . . .

Kevin:  The famous inventor and astrologer.

Paige:  Right.  Then you know who he is?

Kevin:  Yeah.  I've read a few articles about him in the paper and read a couple of his books.    I'm somewhat fascinated by astrology.  You can learn a lot from it.

Paige:  Yes, you can.  Anyway, my father needs your help.

Kevin and Paige make it out to the parking lot which is already somewhat empty.

Kevin:  What kind of help does your father need?  If it's any editorial work then I can't do it.  I mean, I'm pretty pressed for time this summer.  It's the first time I've been able to do anything in three years.

Paige:  I'm sorry to hear that.

Paige takes a deep breath.

Paige:  Now, hear me out before you say anything.  This is going to sound pretty bizarre, but my father needs you to help him save the world.

Kevin gives Paige a look of disbelief.

Kevin:  Hunh!  Save the world?  From what?

Paige:  From . . .

The wind starts to pick up around them and eventually grows strong.  They put down the boxes they've been carrying.  The sky grows dark and lighting flashes through the clouds overhead.

Kevin:  What's going on?

Paige:  I don't know, but I think we're about to find out.

An image of Dimoc's face appears in the sky.

Kevin:  What's that?

Paige (to herself):  It's him.

Dimoc:  Impudent humans, hear me well.  I am the great Dimoc and I have returned to become the ruler of your planet.  Any attempts to resist will be futile.  You have no choice but to bow and serve me.  All those who oppose will be destroyed.  Hail your new and powerful leader!

Dimoc's image disappears.  Thunder roars and lightning fills the skies.  Suddenly the clouds part and the sky is blue once again.  The wind ceases instantly.

Kevin:  Is that why your father wants my help?

Paige:  Yes.  I know it seems impossible to think that there's anything you can do to help, but if you'll just go to my father's estate he'll explain everything.

Kevin:  Are you kidding?  I don't want to be involved in that kind of mess.  Did you see that thing?  You've got to be crazy!

Paige:  Kevin, please.  Just hear what my father has to say.  I can't force you but if you'll just come with me . . .

Balizar:  You'll go nowhere, girl!

Balizar, Vex and a band of Zoodos are standing across a field not far from Kevin and Paige.

Kevin:  Who are they?

Paige:  (to Kevin) Must be a few of Dimoc's goons.  (to Balizar) Oh, really?  Do you think you can stop me?

Paige gets in a fighting stance.

Balizar:  A brave one, aren't you?  No, I don't think I can stop you.  I know I can.  Zoodos!

Zoodos armed with sickles start running towards Paige.

Kevin:  Why'd you go and make him mad for?

Paige:  Hurry and get to my father's house before it's too late.  I'll handle these guys.

Paige takes off and runs towards the oncoming Zoodos.

Kevin:  Wait!  (to himself) I can't just leave her here to fight for herself.

Kevin watches as Paige runs in the middle of the Zoodos, jumps, and rolls in the middle of them.  She gets up to start kicking and punching away as she takes out each Zoodo one by one.  Once she's almost defeated every single one, Vex jumps in the air and kicks Paige, sending Paige through the air.  Kevin sees the attack.

Paige:  Unh!

Kevin:  Paige!

Kevin runs and catches Paige in his arms.  He lets her down.

Kevin:  Hey, are you alright?

Paige:  Yeah, thanks.

Kevin:  Where'd you learn to fight like that?

Paige:  There's no time to explain.  Now get out of here!

Kevin:  But . . .

Balizar:  It seems I've underestimated you.  You're not as weak as I had suspected.

Paige:  You're words mean nothing.  And if you think you can take me out so easily, you've got another thing coming.

Balizar:  Is that so?  What makes you so sure, girl?

Paige:  You haven't seen anything yet.  I've only just begun.

Paige pulls up her left sleeve to expose her Z-Band.

Paige:  Now let's really get down to business.  Celestial change!

Paige throws her right fist in the air and her Omni Ring sparkles.  She chambers her fist back down to her right side and punches her left fist down across her right hip.  She swings her left arm up across the front of her chest.  At the same time her right fist follows as she connects her Omni Ring with her Z-Band on the inside of her wrist.  She starts to glow and transforms into Pink Libra.

Libra:  (posing) Pink Libra!

Back at Mount Havoc, Dimoc watches what takes place with the help of Levina.  He is shocked by Pink Libra's appearance.

Dimoc:  It can't be!

Levina:  What did you expect, Dimoc?  The powers of the Zodiac are eternal.  Apparently a new   band of warriors have been found.

Dimoc:  Then they must be destroyed!

Balizar and Vex look on in disbelief.  Kevin steps back away from Libra.

Kevin:  (to himself) No way!

Balizar:  It . . . it's not possible!

Libra:  Believe it.  This time the powers of the Zodiac will get rid of you for good.

Balizar:  Try, hard as you may.  But just you yourself won't be strong enough.

Libra:  One is all it takes.

Balizar:  Vex!

Vex takes off towards Libra.  Libra turns to Kevin.

Libra:  Go, Kevin.  Now!  You're not powerful enough to help.  You'll get killed.

Kevin stands motionless, unable to decide whether or not to leave her.

Kevin:  But what if you need help?

Libra:  There's no time!

At that moment, Vex swings his sword at Kevin.  Libra pushes Kevin away and he rolls out of the way.  Libra does a back handspring and follows with a roundhouse kick, knocking Vex back.  He comes at her with both his swords and Libra calls for her sword.

Libra:  Z-Saber!

Vex and Libra engage in a sword fight.  Vex manages to take the upper hand.  His swords make contact with Libra which causes explosions across her chest.  She falls back and on the ground.

Libra:  Unh!

Vex walks towards her as she tries to defend herself on the ground.  Kevin sees what has happened and decides to take action.

Kevin:  (to himself) I've got to help her.

Kevin runs towards Vex, whose back is facing him.  He jumps and step-kicks Vex on his shoulder and lands in front of Libra.  He kneels down to help her up.

Libra:  Kevin!

Kevin:  I couldn't leave.  Not yet.

He turns around to face Vex and Balizar.

Kevin:  Now you've got two of us to deal with.  Kyah!

Kevin runs toward Vex and tries to jump kick him, but the kick has no effect and Kevin falls to the ground.

Kevin:  Man, you're tougher than I thought.  But I'm just as persistent.  Aiyah!

Kevin gets back up and starts to attack Vex again.  He manages to get a couple of kicks and punches in, but Vex counters most of his attacks and eventually knocks Kevin into the air who lands in front of Libra.  She runs to his aid.

Libra:  Kevin!  It's no use.  It's not safe for you here.

Kevin:  Argh!  But I have to try.

Kevin struggles to get back to his feet.

Balizar:  Worthless human.  At least she has the power, unlike you.  Argh!

Balizar swings his double-bladed sword at them and a blast of energy shoots out.  The blast explodes before Kevin and Libra's feet.  They duck out of the way.  Vex walks through the smoke and grabs Kevin and Libra by the neck.  He slowly lifts them off their feet.

Kevin:  Ugh!

Libra:  Unh!

Balizar:  Ha, ha, ha!  Not as easy as you thought, was it, human?

Kevin and Libra struggle in Vex's grasp.

Libra:  I don't know  . . . unh . . . how much more I can take.

Kevin:  Me . . . either.

Kevin looks around to see what he can do.  He can think of only one thing.

Kevin:  Libra . . . kick!

Libra nods and at the same time they both kick Vex in the abdomen and backflip free from his grasp.  When they land they both stumble to their knees, holding on to their throats.

Kevin:  Unh . . . that was too close.

Libra:  We have to get out of here.  We can't go on like this.

Balizar:  Argh!

Balizar swings his sword again.  This time the blast goes straight towards Kevin.

Libra:  Look out!

Libra stands up and takes the shot.  Explosions shoot off her chest as she is knocked back.  Kevin catches her in his arms.  Balizar and Vex start walking towards Kevin and Libra.

Kevin:  Libra!  Oh, no!  Are you alright?

Libra:  Unh . . . yeah, but you have to go while you can.  It's me they want to fight, not you.

Kevin:  I can't.  I'll stay and fight till I can't anymore.

Balizar:  Then you'll perish with her!

Taurus/Gemini:  Z-Magnums!

Shots explode on Balizar and Vex who are caught off guard and knocked back.  Libra and Kevin look up to see where the shots came from.

Balizar:  Argh!  What the . . .

Taurus and Gemini are standing atop one of the school buildings looking down at Balizar and Vex.

Taurus:  (posing) Green Taurus!

Gemini:  (posing) Yellow Gemini!

Balizar:  More?

Taurus/Gemini:  Aiyah!

Taurus and Gemini flip into the air and land before Kevin and Libra who are now standing.  Libra has her arm around Kevin's shoulders as he holds her up.

Libra:  You've arrived.

Gemini:  Yeah, and it seems just in time.

Taurus:  How are you holding up?

Libra:  I'll be okay.  But we have to get Kevin out of here.

Kevin:  So how many more of you are there?

Balizar:  Enough!  It seems we have a bit of an unexpected surprise.

Gemini:  That's right, big boy.  You didn't think we'd let Libra do this one alone, did you?

Taurus:  You've gone far enough, Balizar!  Give it up!  You're outnumbered.

Vex starts towards Taurus and Gemini but Balizar stops him by grabbing his shoulder.

Balizar:  Wait!

Vex looks back at Balizar.

Balizar:  It's pointless to waste our energies on the human and just the three of you.  We'll  wait until you assemble and destroy you all at once!

With those words, Balizar and Vex cross their arms and disappear.

Gemini:  I guess that's supposed to be a threat?

Taurus:  Next time we'll be ready.

Libra:  I hope so.  I'm glad you two came when you did.  I wasn't sure how long we could hold them off.  Their power is much stronger than I had expected.

Taurus:  We're sorry we couldn't have been here sooner but . . .

Kevin interrupts the conversation the three costumed heroes have become closely involved in.

Kevin:  Wait!  Wait just a minute!  Will someone please tell me what's going on here?
