The Reason: Too many people are promoting anime couples and characters as being YAOI or YURI who simply are not homosexual.  Many of us get flamed because of our ideas concerning yaoi/gay and yuri/lesbian couples.  People misunderstand our feelings.  It's not that we have anything against homosexuality as a whole, we just don't like lying and misrepresentation.  Some of the characters featured as being YAOI or YURI are either known to be heterosexual, are married, are related to the person they're paired up with or there is simply no supporting evidence of a sexual or romantic homosexual relationship between the two characters in question. 

Who has the right to turn a heterosexual character into a homosexual one?  It is possible for two characters of the same sex to hold a great amount of respect and even affection for one another and yet not have any sexual or romantic feelings for each other. Real-life relationships are a daily testamony to this. Do you want to have a sexual relationship with everyone you care about or respect in your life? We all act according to our feelings, and many times those feelings do not necessarily lead to sex or romantic love.

These heterosexual characters and their relationships with one another are not only the original and implied intent of the anime/manga creator but a perfectly natural part of life that people are just going to have to deal with. It should always be remembered that fan fiction, fan art and doujinshi manga/animes are not cannon and therefore have no place in the representation of any anime or manga title.

The Mission: The point of these banners is to unite the online community in expressing their support of factual representation of HETEROSEXUAL couples and characters in anime and manga. We want to show the world that we're proud to support these factual heterosexual characters and relationships and hopefully open a few minds to the truth of the anime/manga creator's original intent in the process.

Requirements/What to do: Requirements? Almost none. Those who want to put a banner on their page do NOT need to have HETEROSEXUAL, YAOI or YURI content in their site whatsoever. Just an open mind and a desire to tell the truth. Represent the truth about heterosexual couples and characters in anime and manga. Just put a banner up on your page and link it back here.
