On 26 December 2004 , Tsunami clash to the south of Ranong Coast in Amphur Kapoe and King Amphur SuKsumran.The fishery village and marine coastal research near Hat Prapas was demaged. But it have a good news that most of the island(Koh) do have small affected. Koh Chang , the fishery pier in front of temple was tumbledown and some of resort boat in south west part of island was damage. Most of the resorts still opened. Koh Phayam do not have any affected.

The last update ( 31 December 2004, 11.15 am. local time) of victims in Ranong are Death 172 (Thai 170 , Foreign 2 [myanmar 2] , ) , Injured 205 (Thai 191 , Foreign 14 ) and Missing 16 .
