YEAAAAA I'm the first one. Ok in my humble opinion also from watching and reading the series it really shows how these two have grown to love each other. Not just buy the glances they give but by their actions. They are always helping each other and watching out for one anohter. Even though they don't come out and say it you can tell these two would love to admit their feelings if they didn't have so much interference from everyone else.

I sometimes wonder when I watch the series and hear Ranma say things like "Akane is mine!". Is it really that he loves her, or does he feel somehow less a man to have his possesion taken away from him. Remember in the OVA about the reversal jewel and how much Ranma was fighting to regain Shampoo's affection? Did he do that because he loved her?

Alright! Time for some ranting!!!

#1: Ranma and Akane's Suitors: Can you say "obsession"? Each and every one of them are suffering from a heavy delusion. (Yeah, there was no doubt against Kuno and Kodachi being deluded in the first place) Shampoo believes that Ranma will come back to China and be a slave husband for the rest of his life (Yeah, right. She should opt for Mousse, instead) Ukyo chased Ranma for 10 YEARS, intent to KILL him. Then that one single compliment, and "I love you, Ranma!". I don't know about you guys, but there is a chance that Ukyo is, indeed, insane. (She all put says this is Manga Volume 38, if you've read it) And Ryoga. Well, lets just say that if Akane doesn't kill him when she finds about "P-chan", he STILL has NO chance with her. (He often treats her as an object to be won when he fights Ranma, and I can't see Akane marrying someone who's so damn DEPRESSED!)

#2:Ranma and Akane: They're PERFECT for each other! Akane keeps Ranma under control, and Ranma keeps Akane under control. They both challenge each other to become better people, and it's working! They don't know it, but they're doing EXACTLY what engaged couples are SUPPOSED to do: they're testing their fidelity, treating each other as equals, exploring their emotions, and remaining chaste!

#3:Rumiko Takahashi: Here, this awesome Author/Artist creates the best series known to man, AND PEOPLE ARE TAKING HER OBVIOUS INTENTION THAT RANMA AND AKANE ARE IN LOVE, AND FLUSHING IT DOWN THE TOILET!!!!! I can't BELIEVE that people are writing fanfiction that end up with Ranma and Akane APART!!! I wouldn't be surprised if Takahashi-sama goes insane one of these days, and takes her flamethrower, and stalks every single one of those misled "fans". (I wouldn't stop her, either!) I hope no one hates me for expressing my opinion, and yes, I know that I appear insane, but I'm not (Really, I'm not).

After reading everybody's opinion here I really do agree with everyone. I strongly think Ranma and Akane belong together. As the saying goes "Actions speak louder then words". And for all those people out there, if you've seen the second movie you should be nodding you're heads along with me. Why in Sam's name would Ranma BLOW UP a chance to be cured? And then have to face Mousse's, Ryoga's and his own father's wrath later on? Hmmm? Come on ppl where are you? Ranma may be a bit fickle in his own way, like going after Shampoo with the Contrary Jewel. But when it comes down to it, Ranma's going to stick to his girl Akane. Also why would Akane risk her life for that stupid sheet curing Ranma's weakness thingy? Yea, she was just doing it for fun, right? I don't think so.

Whew! What can I say that hasn't already been said in the above posts so elegantly? (especially in the LONG posts?) I think I'll keep this short enough to fit on one page.

To begin with, Ranma and Akane have shown that they love each other and respect each other, as well as being willing to do *anything* for the other's sake while passing it off as honor or some other purpose. If it weren't for Genma and Soun's forcing them to be married, they might have come to terms with it and married much earlier, but becoming forced by their parents allowed them to hang around each other day in and day out, to see what the other is *really* like and not just the facade most people put up around their friends or other people they don't know very well. Whether they're asleep, a guy, a girl... such close quarters has helped them see each other. Akane may have that jealous streak in her that causes her to get mad and beat up or break things, but in it all she loves Ranma and doesn't know how to show it any other way, and Ranma knows it and shows it through his act of putting mouth in foot so often.

To sum it all up, Ranma and Akane love each other and everyone knows it, even the other fiancee's they're just too blind to care.

Their relationship is very complex. They won't admit that they care for each other (not even to themselves) because they're stubborn idiots that won't let themselves be forced into anything, so they fight. Dispite this they still manage to suffer each other and eventually love each other but when things start going right for them, someone comes out or something happens, and they can never admit they're feelings. They're definetely one of the best couples of anime and the day they get together will be a day to remember.
