To Protect a Princess

Chapter 2
"Piccolo?" Said Rei as she approached the tall stranger. She was trying to
maintain her grip on the situation but her internal monologue was going
something like this: He's huge! Green, tall, pointy ears, turban, big
shoulder pads, weird pink patches, what the hell is this thing? Its energy
is all wrong, I've never felt anything like it. If I didn't know better I'd
say he was an alien.
"That's right, my name is Piccolo." Came the gravely voice. Slowly the
tall green stranger cast it's gaze over each of the Senshi. "And you are
the Sailor Senshi, is that correct?"
"That's right, we are the defenders of Earth and protectors of the Moon
Princess." Said Rei.
"Moon Princess, which one of you is that?" Asked Piccolo.
"Umm...that's her over there." Said a mildly embarrassed Makoto while
pointing to their unconscious leader. Piccolo raised an eyebrow.
"Stay together for the time being, I'll be back when she regains
consciousness." Piccolo crossed his arms and began to levitate.
"Wait, what's going on here?" Called Rei as Piccolo raised higher into the
air.
"I'll explain what I know later, for now go somewhere safe." With that
Piccolo blasted off into the night sky.

"What the hell is going on here?" Said Makoto, effectively easing the
pressure on the other Senshi to ask the same question. The group had
gathered at Rei's temple to discuss the arrival of Piccolo and the rather
unusual nature of the monster that attacked earlier. Usagi had woken up and
had a rather nasty welt on her forehead.
"How are we supposed to know? This Piccolo guy seems to be the one with all
the answers and we don't even know if he's on our side or not." Said an
obviously stressed out Rei.
"That's right, large green men aren't exactly common on earth." Said Minako
while she applied a warm wet cloth to Usagi's forehead.
"So he's either from the Negaverse or some other planet." Said Ami.
"What about that creature, that definitely wasn't from the Negaverse."
Makoto thought back to when it had looked at her and shivered.
"That's right, it wasn't after energy at all. It looked like it killed that
woman for food, like a wild animal." Said Ami as she moved to the window.
"Hey guys, I didn't mention this earlier but," said Rei, getting her fellow
Senshi's attention "when that Piccolo guy showed up I felt a very weird
energy. It was like nothing I've ever felt before."
"Did you get a bad vibe from it?" Asked Minako.
"No, it didn't seem to be either good or evil." Rei looked out the window
"I can still feel it, and it's coming closer fast." The other Senshi sprang
up and prepared for the possibility combat.
A moment later Piccolo arrived at the temple. "I suppose you'd like to know
who I am and what I'm doing here." He said.
The Senshi looked around at each other and nodded.
"Firstly, I don't want to be here. I'm doing a favor for a very important
person who seems to think that you need some help. Secondly, I have no
special insights about you or the affairs of this dimension. I was sent
here only knowing that I was to help the Sailor Senshi and the Moon
Princess. I can only assume that my mission here is to train you, so that's
what I'm going to do. You have one day to prepare. Sever any ties with the
world that you currently posses and come back here at this time tomorrow.
Bring only what you can carry. Any questions?" Piccolo finished and folded
his arms over his chest.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa there buddy. We're not going anywhere with you. You just
show up unannounced and expect us to drop everything and go with you to kami
knows where? Who do you think you are buddy?" Rei said angrily.
"Do you remember the monster you fought earlier? Did you see how easily I
destroyed it? I can teach you to use that kind of power. However, if you
want to fight using your own pathetic attacks be my guest. But let me tell
you that at your current power level you will all be destroyed if another
creature like the one you fought earlier shows up. You want to live, you'll
come with me and let me train you. You have one full day to decide.
Goodbye." With that Piccolo turned and walked to the door.
"Wait, we still have a lot to talk about!" Yelled Rei as Piccolo moved
through the door.
"We will talk tomorrow, until then you must talk amongst yourselves. I'll
await your decision." An instant later he was gone.
"So are we going to be here tomorrow?" Asked Usagi of her teammates.
"Are you serious?" Said Rei with a raised eyebrow. The rest of the group
was wondering whether or not Rei meant that they would be meeting at the
temple tomorrow.
"I think we should meet here tomorrow." Said Ami.
"Are you nuts? This could be a trap. We still don't know thing one about
this guy or where he comes from." Shouted Rei.
"And besides, what did he mean by severing our ties with the world and
bringing only what we can carry?" Asked Minako.
"He made it sound like were going to vanish or something." Said Usagi.
"I can't believe were even talking about this." Said Rei. The rest of the
group turned to her. "I mean, how can we even consider going with him? Our
parents taught us not to do this kind of thing when were kids! Have you all
forgotten that? Don't go with strange men. Be they creepy guys in vans
offering candy or seven foot tall green guys saying that their going to
train us. The answer is no." Rei crossed her arms and turned her back to
the group. "Well?"
