Yusuke was a juvenile deliquent who get knocked down by a car when he tried to save a child. However, his death was unexpected and totally out of spiritual world's planning, so he got a chance to continue his life. After he revive, he became a detective of the spiritual world,who help spiritual world to catch demon crimials. His first mission was to get back three spiritual world's artefacts, demon sword , spirital orb and demon mirror, which was stolen by three demon,Kuiosj,Kurama and Hiei. Yusuke killed the first Kuiosj, defeated Hiei and helped Kurama, and they soon became very good friends with Yusuke, together with Yusuke's so-called rival, Kuwabara later join the team. With the support and encourage by their friends and family, they defeated enemies in the Tournament of Darkness, a fighting tournament held in which Yusuke's team was forced to participate as 'guests', for if they backed out, they would be killed. If they won, they could have anything they want, but if they lost, the price of failure is death.
They also fought Sensui and Itsuki to stop the opening of the gate to the Demon's world .During that war,the demon blood which was hide deep in Yusuke's body had been awoke,which made Yusuke became one of the most powerful demon.After the war Hiei ,Kurama, and Yusuke went back to the demon world. At the end of the story, Yusuke turned out to be a descendant of a very powerful S-level demon, Raizen, which Yusuke found out on his trip to the demon world, but finally he came back to human world . Kuwabara became a very hard working person, got into university,and became a govornment officer. Kurama stays in human world and work in his father's company. Hiei stays in demon with his friends and help send human who went in Demon's World back to Human's World.
