The Dangerous
After one has become
weary of contemplating life, the universe, and his place in it, why not head
down to the Tokyo Dome for some good old women's pro wrestling! About two weeks
after I arrived in Japan, my host dad (a huge wrestling fan), took me there. We
had a good time. What really surprised me was the large amount of women in the
audience. Pro wrestling is actually pretty popular in Japan, but not as popular
as K-1 ringfighting. It allows all kinds of fighters, but most of them are
kickboxers, and it is real unlike wrestling. Also growing in popularity in Tokyo
are underground amateur cage brawls. They are illegal due to the fact that many
of the fighters get seriously hurt, but that does not stop them from happening
every weekend somewhere in the city.
