Goku (Kakkarot)

 Goku is the main character of Dragon Ball since the story focuses mainly on him, and, one of the seven (explained later) Saiyans whom survived Planet Vegeta's destruction. His real Saiyan name is Kakkarot. Goku is a kind, gentle being who only fights for fun. But when the time comes, Goku always rushes to face the next foe who threatens to destroy the Earth, or even sometimes, the universe. He may not be too bright, seeing as that he never went to school as a child, he has the heart of a hero. He has a wife, Chi-Chi, and two sons, Gohan and Goten. Goku is one of the strongest warriors in the universe. He has the ability to achieve the Super Saiyan levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, which he is the only one who can reach as high as that. Another special trait Goku has is very obvious: he is one of the only full-blooded Saiyans alive to not have a tail; he had it removed years ago. Goku first arrived on Earth many years ago, as a baby in a Saiyan space pod. He was found by a man named Gohan, whom Goku got used to calling grandfather. Gohan died when Goku was very young, leaving our hero to live on his own. After meeting Bulma, his Dragonball adventure begins. Goku dies many time throught the 3 Dragonball series. Twice in Z, and once and for all in GT, combining with the Dragonballs.

Gohan

Gohan is the first son of Goku and ChiChi, and is one of the most powerful warriors in the DBZ-GT series. Gohan has changed much since his debut in Dragon Ball Z. After being abducted by Radditz, he showed his tremendous power by breaking out of Radditz's Saiyan Pod and injuring his uncle. Later, he would again be abducted this time by Piccolo, who left him out in the wilderness for 1 year to train in preparation of the coming of the Saiyans. Besides being a great fighter, Gohan decides to listen to his mother and becomes a great scholar. While attending Orange Star High School in Satan City, Gohan meets a young lady named Videl (the daughter of the world famous "hero", Mr. Satan). Gohan also takes on the role of the super-hero in Satan City, Great Saiyaman. Eventually, Videl finds out and becomes Gohan's assistant. They get married, and have a daughter named Pan, who debuts in GT.

Vegeta

Vegeta is one of the seven Saiyans to survive the destruction of Planet Vegeta. He is a strong fighter, let alone one really small gguy with a fat head. He is also of royal origin, being that his father, the king of Vegeta, was killed when Freeza destroyed the planet. The only thing that drives Vegeta to fight is his determination to become stronger than Goku. He first made his appearance in DBZ, traveling with another Saiyan, Napa, to Earth to find the Dragonballs. After losing a battle with Goku and Gohan, he departs from Earth and ends up on Planet Freeza. He joins in the battle between Goku and Freeza (explained the Dragonball Z story) and dies, then is wished back by the Dragonballs. After the Freeza encounter, he joins in training for preparation of the coming of two androids who would destroy the world, told by a man from the future named Trunks, claiming that he is the son of Vegeta. Later though, he and Bulma have a child; they name him Trunks. Vegeta never really cares for his son. His good heart was never enough to please him. But when Trunks dies in his arms, Vegeta discovers what he had been missing out on; a son with a heart of gold, and the spirit of a true Saiyan (don't worry all you Trunks fans, Trunks does come back). During the Buu saga, Vegeta becomes Majin Vegeta to try to become more powerful and destroy Kakkarot. In DBGT, he is possessed by the spirit of Bebi, and becoms Bebi Vegeta, with the ability to transform into the Super Oozaru, a golden monkey. Vegeta has a wife, Bulma, and two children, Trunks and Bra. --Note-- I have yet to find out where Bra comes from, but keep watching out for the addition to these bios.

Piccolo

Piccolo first made his appearance in Dragon Ball. He was a ruthless enemy to Goku. Before the first Piccolo died, he spat out an egg, which would become the Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z and forward. Piccolo is a very skilled fighter. He showed this in the battle with Goku against Goku's evil brother Raditz. He pulled off his finisher, the Special Beam Cannon, on Raditz AND Goku, killing them both. While Goku was away, Piccolo took Gohan under his wing and trained him in the wilderness for one year in preparation for the arrival of the Saiyans. During the battle with the Saiyans, Piccolo risked his life for Gohan. Piccolo died in front of Gohan during that battle, along with Yamcha, Tien, and Chaozu. Piccolo returns later during the battle with Freeza by way of the Dragon Balls. He is injured again during the battle, and safely gets away by being carried by Gohan. Later he becomes part of the battle with Cell. After that, Piccolo really isn't as involved as he was in the beginning of DBZ. Piccolo is an alien from the planet Namek, and has some family, I don't really know how they are related to him. except for Kame, for whom he shares a symbiotic relationship with.

Goten

This is Goku's second child and Gohan's little brother, Goten. He makes his appearance near the end of Dragon Ball Z. This is one extraordinary young boy. He is a very formidable fighter, and does get forced into the Budokai by his father though. One of the amazing things he has accomplished is that he achieved the level of Super Saiyan at age 5! He and Bulma's son, Trunks, are very good friends. Trunks considers Goten to be the "little brother" he never had. The two even Fusion together to become Gotenks, the only other Saiyan besides Goku to reach SS3.

Bulma

Bulma is a very important character in the story. She makes he appearance in the very beginning of Dragon Ball, practically setting up the story. She is about 16 in the beginning of Dragon Ball, and almost 61 at the end of Dragon Ball Z! Her father is Dr. Briefs, the head of the Capsule Corp. Bulma isn't much of a skilled fighter; she mostly contributes to the Z group by building machines and fixing things. When she first meets Yamcha, she falls instantly for him. In the beginning of Z, she then becomes angry with the guy. And THEN, when Yamcha dies, Bulma realizes that she really loved the guy. Later on, however, she has a baby. The baby's name is Trunks. The father is, of all people, VEGETA! They also have a daughter named Bra.

Master Roshi

This old coot here is Master Roshi, once the most powerful being on Earth. Even at 300+ years old, this guy can pack a mean punch and a strong Kamehameha. He's a bit of a pervert though. He likes to scout around for young women with butts he likes to grab. Well, anyway, aside from that, Master Roshi is one of the important characters in the series. He teaches Goku how to use the Kamehameha Wave, and introduces the Flying Nimbus, a floating cloud which only the pure of heart can ride. The only major thing that Roshi is involved in in DBZ is that he trains both Goku and Vegeta.

Trunks

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma. He is part Saiyan, part Saiyan enough to have superior fighting power and the ability to upgrade to Super Saiyan. I don't know if he can transform into his Oozaru form. Trunks makes his first appearance during the middle of Dragon Ball Z. He goes back in time to warn Goku of his (Goku) heart condition and that he (Goku again) will die in 3 years. Also, in 3 years, a group of Androids will appear and conquer the Earth. Trunks tells Goku he must train nonstop in order to defeat the androids. Trunks vows that he will return in 3 years to aid Goku and his friends in the battle against the androids. He also tells Goku who his father and mother are, and not to tell anyone so that not to disrput the set course of time, otherwise, Trunks may not have been born. Trunks appears again in Dragon Ball GT, joining Pan and Goku on an intergalactic trip across the Universe to search for the Black Star Dragon Balls. Trunks's mother is Bulma, and his father is Vegeta. Bulma is very protectiive of Trunks (I.E. ChiChi) and always looks out for him. Vegeta, however, isn't that close to Trunks. Only before Vegeta dies does he admit that he loved Trunks. Trunks has 1 sister, Bra.

Pan

Pan is Gohan and Videl's daughter. She is 1/4 Saiyan, and as far as I know, does not have the ability to go Super Saiyan. In fact, she has pretty low fighting ability. She also is a major pain in the butt. She makes her debut in GT and joins Trunks and Chibi Goku (explained in DBGT story) on their intergalactic quest to find the Black Star Dragonballs (Where else? In The DBGT story).

Freeza

Freeza is one tough sonofagun. And a 3-foot she-male. The Z gang first meets this intergalactic menace on the planet Namek while looking for the Dragon Balls. Freeza is an evil being of an unknown race, bent on conquering the universe. For years he has been terrorizing peaceful systems for his own pleasure. One of the planets he has destroyed was the home of the Saiyans, Planet Vegeta. He also personally killed King Vegeta (Vegeta's father), and Goku's father Bardock. He took Prince Vegeta under his wing and trained him as his protege.

No. 18

The blond bombshell of the Dragonball series. Originally created by Dr. Gero along with her brother No. 17, she was one of the androids who in Trunks' alternate future who destroys the Earth. Eventually, she becomes one of the good guys. She is a powerful fighter, and being an android, has endless KI, making her very strong. She is married to (of all people) Krillin, and they have a daughter, Marron.
