One Road

Ah! Sweet Volition!
I gaze into the cool, sparkling pond of existence.
I disturb its waters with my hand.
I have the power for good and for beauty.

Ah! Freedom! My oft elusive friend,
You are the health of my soul.
I am drunk with the vision, but I am not dizzy,
For you have given me far-seeing sight
Which links together the souls of all men.

There is a lovely, sweet sadness to life,
In knowing that all choices are mine,
But that I must choose one road,
And in doing so I die many deaths,
Until the final death gathers us all toward home.
