Endymion and Serenity: the Unforgotten Romance: prologue

There is a legend about the goddess of the moon and a prince from Earth. It
is considered on of the greatest romances of all time. One long ago, there
was the goddess of the moon named Serenity. Every night she would lead the
moon across the sky so the sun could rise. She had long silver hair done up
in two buns on top of her head. Her mother also lived on the moon with her.
Her name was also Serenity. On Earth there lived a prince named Endymion. He
had ebony hair and long black bangs that fell over his ocean blue eyes, the
kind that you could get lost in. Endymion always enjoyed looking at the
moon. Sometimes from his balcony he thought he could see the silhouette of a
beautiful young woman on the moon but he thought it was just his
imagination. On night while young Serenity was carrying the moon across she
heard Endymion playing his pipes. The melody was so beautiful she decided to
stop and listen. When she saw who was playing them she fell in love with the
mortal prince. So one night she put three drops of sleeping potion in her
mother's wine. She would be asleep for three days enough for Serenity to
sneak down on Earth to be with her prince. The night her mother drank the
wine she fell asleep instantly. Then Serenity floated off the moon. Endymion
saw only a beautiful silver light which was Serenity. He decided to follow
it and to see where it landed and this is where our story takes place.
